Nabii Isaya alitabiri ukweli juu yenu alipoandika: Watu hawa, asema Mungu, huniheshimu kwa maneno matupu, lakini mioyoni mwao wako mbali nami.Jesus answered them, “Isaiah prophesied correctly about you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.

7Kuniabudu kwao hakufai, maana mambo wanayofundisha ni maagizo ya kibinadamu tu.They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’

8Ninyi mnaiacha amri ya Mungu na kushikilia maagizo ya watu.”You have disregarded the commandment of God to keep the tradition of men.”

13Hivyo ndivyo mnavyodharau neno la Mungu kwa ajili ya mafundisho mnayopokezana. Tena mnafanya mambo mengi ya namna hiyo.”Thus you nullify the word of God by the tradition you have handed down. And you do so in many such matters.”

14Yesu aliuita tena ule umati wa watu, akawaambia, “Nisikilizeni nyote, mkaelewe.Once again Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, “All of you, listen to Me and understand:

15Hakuna kitu kinachoingia ndani ya mtu toka nje ambacho chaweza kumtia mtu najisi. Lakini kinachotoka ndani ya mtu ndicho kinachomtia mtu najisi.”Nothing that enters a man from the outside can defile him; but the things that come out of a man, these are what defile him.”

23Maovu hayo yote yatoka ndani ya mtu, nayo humtia mtu najisi.”All these evils come from within, and these are what defile a man.”

24Yesu aliondoka hapo, akaenda hadi wilaya ya Tiro. Huko aliingia katika nyumba moja na hakutaka mtu ajue; lakini hakuweza kujificha.Jesus left that place and went to the region of Tyre. Not wanting anyone to know He was there, He entered a house, but was unable to escape their notice.

27Yesu akamwambia, “Kwanza watoto washibe; kwa maana si vizuri kuchukua chakula cha watoto na kuwatupia mbwa.”“First let the children have their fill,” He said. “For it is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”

28Lakini huyo mama akasema, “Sawa, Bwana, lakini hata mbwa walio chini ya meza hula makombo ya watoto.”“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

29Yesu akamwambia, “Kwa sababu ya neno hilo, nenda. Pepo amemtoka binti yako!”Then Jesus told her, “Because of this answer, you may go. The demon has left your daughter.”

30Basi, akaenda nyumbani kwake, akamkuta mtoto amelala kitandani, na pepo amekwisha mtoka.And she went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon was gone.

31Kisha Yesu aliondoka wilayani Tiro, akapitia Sidoni, akafika ziwa Galilaya kwa kupitia nchi ya Dekapoli.Then Jesus left the region of Tyre and went through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee and into the region of the Decapolis.

32Basi, wakamletea bubu-kiziwi, wakamwomba amwekee mikono.Some people brought to Him a man who was deaf and hardly able to speak, and they begged Jesus to place His hand on him.

33Yesu akamtenga na umati wa watu, akamtia vidole masikioni, akatema mate na kumgusa ulimi.So Jesus took him aside privately, away from the crowd, and put His fingers into the man’s ears. Then He spit and touched the man’s tongue.

34Kisha akatazama juu mbinguni, akapiga kite, akamwambia, “Efatha,” maana yake, “Funguka.”And looking up to heaven, He sighed deeply and said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means, “Be opened!”).

35Mara masikio yake yakafunguka na ulimi wake ukafunguliwa, akaanza kusema sawasawa.Immediately the man’s ears were opened and his tongue was released, and he began to speak plainly.

36Yesu akawaamuru wasimwambie mtu juu ya jambo hilo. Lakini kadiri alivyowakataza, ndivyo walivyozidi kutangaza habari hiyo.Jesus ordered them not to tell anyone. But the more He ordered them, the more widely they proclaimed it.

37Watu walishangaa sana, wakasema, “Amefanya yote vyema: amewajalia viziwi kusikia, na bubu kusema!”The people were utterly astonished and said, “He has done all things well! He makes even the deaf hear and the mute speak!”
