1. 1TAMTCVவாழ்வுதரும் வார்த்தையாகிய கிறிஸ்துவைக்குறித்து நாங்கள் உங்களுக்குப் பிரசித்தப்படுத்துகிறோம். தொடக்கத்தில் இருந்த வார்த்தையாகிய அவரையே நாங்கள் கண்டும், கேட்டும் இருக்கிறோம். அவர் பேசுவதை நாங்கள் கேட்டோம், அவரை எங்கள் கண்களால் கண்டோம், அவரை உற்றுப்பார்த்தோம், இந்த வார்த்தையாகிய அவரை எங்கள் கைகளால் தொட்டும் பார்த்தோம்.BSBBSB: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have gazed upon and touched with our own hands—this is the Word of life.

3. 3TAMTCVநீங்களும் எங்களுடன்கூட ஐக்கியம் வைத்துக்கொள்வதற்காக, நாங்கள் கண்டதையும் கேட்டதையும் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கிறோம். எங்களுடைய ஐக்கியமோ, பிதாவோடும் அவருடைய மகனாகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவோடுமே இருக்கிறது.BSBBSB: We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
4. 4TAMTCVநமது சந்தோஷத்தை முழுநிறைவுபெறச் செய்வதற்காகவே இந்தச் சாட்சியத்தை நாங்கள் எழுதுகிறோம்.BSBBSB: We write these things so that our joy may be complete.
5. 5TAMTCVகிறிஸ்துவிடமிருந்து நாங்கள் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட செய்தி இதுவே, அதையே உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கிறோம்: இறைவன் ஒளியாக இருக்கிறார்; அவரில் எவ்வித இருளும் இல்லை.BSBBSB: And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
6. 6TAMTCVஎனவே, நாம் இறைவனுடன் ஐக்கியமாய் இருக்கிறோம் என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டு இருளிலே நடந்தால், நாம் சத்தியத்தின்படி வாழ்கின்றவர்கள் அல்ல; பொய் சொல்கிறவர்களாகவே இருப்போம்.BSBBSB: If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7. 7TAMTCVஆனால், இறைவன் ஒளியில் இருக்கிறதுபோல, நாமும் இறைவனின் ஒளியிலே நடந்தால், நமக்கு ஒருவரோடொருவர் ஐக்கியமுண்டு. இறைவனின் மகனாகிய இயேசுவின் இரத்தம் எல்லாப் பாவத்திலிருந்தும் நம்மைச் சுத்திகரிக்கிறது.BSBBSB: But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8. 8TAMTCVநாம் பாவம் அற்றவர்கள் என்று சொல்லிக்கொள்வோமேயானால், நம்மை நாமே ஏமாற்றிக்கொள்கிறோம்; சத்தியம் நமக்குள் இல்லை.BSBBSB: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9. 9TAMTCVநம்முடைய பாவங்களை நாம் இறைவனுக்கு அறிக்கையிட்டால், அவர் நம்முடைய பாவங்களை நமக்கு மன்னித்து, எல்லா அநியாயங்களையும் நீக்கி, நம்மைச் சுத்திகரிப்பார். ஏனெனில் அவர் வாக்குமாறாதவரும் நீதி உள்ளவருமாய் இருக்கிறார்.BSBBSB: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10. 10TAMTCVநாம் பாவம் செய்யவில்லை என்று சொல்வோமேயானால், நாம் இறைவனைப் பொய்யராக்குகிறோம். அவருடைய வார்த்தைக்கு நம்முடைய வாழ்க்கையில் இடமில்லை.BSBBSB: If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.
