1 ULB நான் மனிதர்களுடைய மொழிகளையும் தூதர்களுடைய மொழிகளையும் பேசினாலும், எனக்கு அன்பு இல்லையென்றால், சத்தமிடுகிற வெண்கலம்போலவும், ஓசையிடுகிற கைத்தாளம்போலவும் இருப்பேன். BSB BSB: If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 ULB நான் தீர்க்கதரிசன வரத்தை உடையவனாக இருந்து, எல்லா இரகசியங்களையும், எல்லா அறிவையும் அறிந்தாலும், மலைகளைப் பெயர்க்கத்தக்கதாக விசுவாசமும் உள்ளவனாக இருந்தாலும், அன்பு இல்லையென்றால் நான் ஒன்றுமில்லை. BSB BSB: If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3 ULB எனக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும் நான் அன்னதானம் செய்தாலும், என் சரீரத்தைச் சுட்டெரிக்கப்படுவதற்குக் கொடுத்தாலும், அன்பு இல்லையென்றால் எனக்கு பயன் ஒன்றுமில்லை. BSB BSB: If I give all I possess to the poor and exult in the surrender of my body, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 ULB அன்பு நீடிய சாந்தமும் தயவுமுள்ளது; அன்புக்குப் பொறாமை இல்லை; அன்பு தன்னைப் புகழாது, இறுமாப்பாக இருக்காது, BSB BSB: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 ULB அயோக்கியமானதைச் செய்யாது, தன்னலத்தைத் தேடாது, கோபமடையாது, தீங்கு நினைக்காது, BSB BSB: It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs.
6 ULB அநியாயத்தில் சந்தோஷப்படாமல், சத்தியத்தில் சந்தோஷப்படும். BSB BSB: Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth.
7 ULB எல்லாவற்றையும் தாங்கும், எல்லாவற்றையும் விசுவாசிக்கும், எல்லாவற்றையும் நம்பும், எல்லாவற்றையும் சகிக்கும். BSB BSB: It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 ULB அன்பு ஒருபோதும் ஒழியாது. தீர்க்கதரிசனங்களானாலும் ஒழிந்துபோகும், அந்நிய மொழிகளானாலும் ஓய்ந்துபோகும், அறிவானாலும் ஒழிந்துபோகும். BSB BSB: Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be restrained; where there is knowledge, it will be dismissed.
9 ULB நம்முடைய அறிவு குறைவுள்ளது, நாம் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லுதலும் குறைவுள்ளது. BSB BSB: For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
10 ULB நிறைவானது வரும்போது குறைவானது ஒழிந்துபோகும். BSB BSB: but when the perfect comes, the partial passes away.
11 ULB நான் குழந்தையாக இருந்தபோது குழந்தையைப்போலப் பேசினேன், குழந்தையைப்போல சிந்தித்தேன், குழந்தையைப்போல யோசித்தேன்; நான் வாலிபனானபோதோ குழந்தைக்குரியவைகளை ஒழித்துவிட்டேன். BSB BSB: When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside childish ways.
12 ULB இப்பொழுது கண்ணாடியிலே மங்கலான உருவத்தைப் பார்க்கிறோம், அப்பொழுது முகமுகமாகப் பார்ப்போம்; இப்பொழுது நான் குறைந்த அறிவுள்ளவன், அப்பொழுது நான் அறியப்பட்டிருக்கிறபடியே அறிந்துகொள்ளுவேன். BSB BSB: Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 ULB இப்பொழுது விசுவாசம், நம்பிக்கை, அன்பு இம்மூன்றும் நிலைத்திருக்கிறது; இவைகளில் அன்பே பெரியது. BSB BSB: And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.
