2 ULB மூன்றாம் வருடத்திலே யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோசபாத் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவிடம் போயிருக்கும்போது, BSB BSB: However, in the third year, Jehoshaphat king of Judah went down to visit the king of Israel,
3 ULB இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா தன்னுடைய வேலைக்காரர்களை நோக்கி: கீலேயாத்திலுள்ள ராமோத் நம்முடையதென்று அறியீர்களா? நாம் அதைச் சீரியா ராஜாவின் கையிலிருந்து பிடித்துக்கொள்ளாமல், சும்மாயிருப்பானேன் என்று சொல்லி, BSB BSB: who said to his servants, “Do you not know that Ramoth-gilead is ours, but we have failed to take it from the hand of the king of Aram?”

BSB BSB: So he asked Jehoshaphat, “Will you go with me to fight against Ramoth-gilead?” Jehoshaphat answered the king of Israel, “I am as you are, my people are your people, and my horses are your horses.”
5 ULB பின்னும் யோசபாத் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவைப் பார்த்து: கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையை இன்றைக்கு விசாரித்து அறியும் என்றான். BSB BSB: But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, “Please inquire first for the word of the LORD.”
6 ULB அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா ஏறக்குறைய நானூறு தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைக் கூடிவரச்செய்து: நான் கீலேயாத்திலுள்ள ராமோத்தின்மேல் யுத்தம்செய்யப்போகலாமா, போக வேண்டாமா என்று அவர்களைக் கேட்டதற்கு; அவர்கள், போம், ஆண்டவர் ராஜாவின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பார் என்றார்கள். BSB BSB: So the king of Israel assembled the prophets, about four hundred men, and asked them, “Should I go to war against Ramoth-gilead, or should I refrain?” “Go up,” they replied, “and the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king.”

BSB BSB: The king of Israel answered, “There is still one man through whom we can inquire of the LORD, but I hate him because he never prophesies anything good for me, but only bad. 10 ULB இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவும், யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோசபாத்தும், சமாரியாவின் வாசலுக்கு முன்பாக இருக்கும் திறந்த வெளியிலே ராஜஉடை அணிந்துக்கொண்டவர்களாக, அவரவர் தம்தம் சிங்காசனத்தில் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தார்கள்; எல்லாத் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொன்னார்கள். BSB BSB: Dressed in royal attire, the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah were sitting on their thrones at the threshing floor by the entrance of the gate of Samaria, with all the prophets prophesying before them.
11 ULB கேனானாவின் மகனாகிய சிதேக்கியா தனக்கு இரும்புக்கொம்புகளை உண்டாக்கி, இவைகளால் நீர் சீரியர்களைத் தள்ளி அழித்துப்போடுவீர் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான். BSB BSB: Now Zedekiah son of Chenaanah had made for himself iron horns and declared, “This is what the LORD says: ‘With these you shall gore the Arameans until they are finished off.’”
12 ULB எல்லாத் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் அதற்கு இசைவாகத் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லி, கீலேயாத்திலுள்ள ராமோத்துக்குப் நீர் போம், உமக்கு வாய்க்கும்; கர்த்தர் அதை ராஜாவின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பார் என்றார்கள். BSB BSB: And all the prophets were prophesying the same, saying, “Go up to Ramoth-gilead and triumph, for the LORD will deliver it into the hand of the king.”

BSB BSB: Then the messenger who had gone to call Micaiah instructed him, “Behold now, with one accord the words of the prophets are favorable to the king. So please let your words be like theirs, and speak favorably.”

BSB BSB: But the king said to him, “How many times must I make you swear not to tell me anything but the truth in the name of the LORD?”
17 ULB அப்பொழுது மிகாயா: இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் எல்லோரும் மேய்ப்பன் இல்லாத ஆடுகளைப்போல மலைகளிலே சிதறப்பட்டதைக் கண்டேன்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர்: இவர்களுக்கு எஜமான் இல்லை; அவரவர் தம்தம் வீட்டிற்குச் சமாதானத்தோடு திரும்பக்கடவர்கள் என்றார் என்று சொன்னான். BSB BSB: So Micaiah declared: “I saw all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd. And the LORD said, ‘These people have no master; let each one return home in peace.’”
18 ULB அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா யோசபாத்தை நோக்கி: இவன் என்னைக் குறித்து நன்மையாக அல்ல, தீமையாகவே தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லுகிறவன் என்று நான் உம்மோடு சொல்லவில்லையா என்றான். BSB BSB: Then the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Did I not tell you that he never prophesies good for me, but only bad?”
19 ULB அப்பொழுது மிகாயா சொன்னது: கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேளும்; கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் அமர்ந்திருக்கிறதையும், பரமசேனையெல்லாம் அவரிடம் அவரின் வலது பக்கத்திலும், இடது பக்கத்திலும் நிற்கிறதையும் கண்டேன். BSB BSB: Micaiah continued, “Therefore hear the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by Him on His right and on His left.

21 ULB அப்பொழுது ஒரு ஆவி புறப்பட்டு வந்து, கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக நின்று; நான் அவனுக்குப் போதனை செய்வேன் என்றது. BSB BSB: Then a spirit came forward, stood before the LORD, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ ‘By what means?’ asked the LORD.
22 ULB எதினால் என்று கர்த்தர் அதைக் கேட்டார். அப்பொழுது அது: நான் போய், அவனுடைய தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் எல்லோரின் வாயிலும் பொய்யின் ஆவியாக இருப்பேன் என்றது. அதற்கு அவர்: நீ அவனுக்குப் போதனைசெய்து அப்படி நடக்கச்செய்வாய்; போய் அப்படிச் செய் என்றார். BSB BSB: And he replied, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouths of all his prophets.’ ‘You will surely entice him and prevail,’ said the LORD. ‘Go and do it.’
23 ULB ஆதலால் கர்த்தர் பொய்யின் ஆவியை உம்முடைய தீர்க்கதரிசிகளாகிய இவர்கள் எல்லோருடைய வாயிலும் கட்டளையிட்டார்; கர்த்தர் உம்மைக் குறித்துத் தீமையாகச் சொன்னார் என்றான். BSB BSB: So you see, the LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouths of all these prophets of yours, and the LORD has pronounced disaster against you.”
24 ULB அப்பொழுது கேனானாவின் மகனாகிய சிதேக்கியா அருகில் வந்து, மிகாயாவைக் கன்னத்தில் அடித்து, கர்த்தருடைய ஆவி எந்த வழியாக என்னைவிட்டு உன்னோடு பேசும்படி வந்தது என்றான். BSB BSB: Then Zedekiah son of Chenaanah went up, struck Micaiah in the face, and demanded, “Which way did the Spirit of the LORD go when He departed from me to speak with you?”
25 ULB அதற்கு மிகாயா: நீ ஒளிந்துகொள்ள உள்அறையிலே பதுங்கும் அந்த நாளிலே அதைக் காண்பாய் என்றான். BSB BSB: Micaiah replied, “You will soon see, on that day when you go and hide in an inner room.”
26 ULB அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா: மிகாயாவைப் பிடித்து, அவனைப் பட்டணத்தின் தலைவனாகிய ஆமோனிடத்திற்கும், ராஜாவின் மகனாகிய யோவாசிடத்திற்கும் திரும்பக் கொண்டுபோய், BSB BSB: And the king of Israel declared, “Take Micaiah and return him to Amon the governor of the city and to Joash the king’s son,
27 ULB இவனைச் சிறைச்சாலையிலே வைத்து, நான் சமாதானத்தோடு வரும்வரை, இவனுக்கு கொஞ்சம் அப்பத்தையும் கொஞ்சம் தண்ணீரையும் சாப்பிடக் கொடுங்கள் என்று ராஜா சொன்னார் என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான். BSB BSB: and tell them that this is what the king says: ‘Put this man in prison and feed him only bread and water until I return safely.’”
28 ULB அப்பொழுது மிகாயா: நீர் சமாதானத்தோடு திரும்பி வருகிறது உண்டானால், கர்த்தர் என்னைக்கொண்டு பேசவில்லை என்று சொல்லி; மக்களே, நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் இதைக் கேளுங்கள் என்றான். BSB BSB: But Micaiah replied, “If you ever return safely, the LORD has not spoken through me.” Then he added, “Take heed, all you people!”
29 ULB பின்பு இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆகாபும், யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோசபாத்தும் கீலேயாத்திலுள்ள ராமோத்துக்குப் போனார்கள். BSB BSB: So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.
30 ULB இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா யோசபாத்தை நோக்கி: நான் வேஷம்மாறி யுத்தத்தில் நுழைவேன்; நீரோ ராஜஉடை அணிந்திரும் என்று சொல்லி, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா வேஷம்மாறி, யுத்தத்தில் நுழைந்தான். BSB BSB: And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself and go into battle, but you wear your royal robes.” So the king of Israel disguised himself and went into battle.
31 ULB சீரியாவின் ராஜா தனக்கு இருக்கிற இரதங்களின் முப்பத்திரண்டு தலைவர்களையும் நோக்கி: நீங்கள் சிறியவர்களோடும் பெரியவர்களோடும் யுத்தம்செய்யாமல் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா ஒருவனோடுமட்டும் யுத்தம் செய்யுங்கள் என்று கட்டளையிட்டிருந்தான். BSB BSB: Now the king of Aram had ordered his thirty-two chariot commanders, “Do not fight with anyone, small or great, except the king of Israel.”

BSB BSB: When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “Surely this is the king of Israel!” So they turned to fight against him, but Jehoshaphat cried out.
33 ULB இவன் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா அல்ல என்று இரதங்களின் தலைவர்கள் கண்டு அவனைவிட்டு விலகிப்போனார்கள். BSB BSB: And when the chariot commanders saw that he was not the king of Israel, they turned back from pursuing him.
34 ULB ஒருவன் தெரியாமல் வில்லை நாணேற்றி எய்தான்; அது இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவினுடைய கவசத்தின் சந்துகளுக்குள் பட்டது; அப்பொழுது அவன் தன்னுடைய ரத ஓட்டியைப் பார்த்து; நீ திருப்பி என்னை இராணுவத்திற்கு மறுபுறம் கொண்டுபோ; எனக்குக் காயம்பட்டது என்றான். BSB BSB: However, a certain man drew his bow without taking special aim, and he struck the king of Israel between the joints of his armor. So the king said to his charioteer, “Turn around and take me out of the battle, for I am badly wounded!”
35 ULB அன்றையதினம் யுத்தம் அதிகரித்தது; ராஜாவைச் சீரியர்களுக்கு எதிராக இரதத்தில் நிறுத்திவைத்தார்கள்; சாயங்காலத்திலே அவன் இறந்துபோனான்; காயத்தின் இரத்தம் இரதத்தின் தட்டிலே வடிந்தது. BSB BSB: The battle raged throughout that day, and the king was propped up in his chariot facing the Arameans. And the blood from his wound ran out onto the floor of the chariot, and that evening he died.
36 ULB பொழுதுபோகும்போது அவரவர் தம்தம் பட்டணத்திற்கும், அவரவர் தம்தம் தேசத்திற்கும் போகலாம் என்று இராணுவத்தில் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. BSB BSB: As the sun was setting, the cry rang out in the army: “Every man to his own city, and every man to his own land!”
37 ULB அப்படியே ராஜா இறந்தபின்பு சமாரியாவுக்குக் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டான்; ராஜாவை சமாரியாவில் அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள். BSB BSB: So the king died and was brought to Samaria, where they buried him.
38 ULB அந்த இரதத்தையும் அவனுடைய கவசத்தையும் சமாரியாவின் குளத்திலே கழுவுகிறபோது கர்த்தர் சொல்லியிருந்த வார்த்தையின்படியே, நாய்கள் அவனுடைய இரத்தத்தை நக்கினது. BSB BSB: And the chariot was washed at the pool of Samaria where the prostitutes bathed, and the dogs licked up Ahab’s blood, according to the word that the LORD had spoken.
40 ULB ஆகாப் மரணமடைந்து முன்னோர்களோடு அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டபின்பு, அவனுடைய மகனாகிய அகசியா அவனுடைய இடத்தில் ராஜாவானான். BSB BSB: And Ahab rested with his fathers, and his son Ahaziah reigned in his place.
41 ULB ஆசாவின் மகனாகிய யோசபாத் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆகாப் அரசாட்சி செய்த நான்காம் வருடத்தில் யூதாவின்மேல் ராஜாவானான். BSB BSB: In the fourth year of Ahab’s reign over Israel, Jehoshaphat son of Asa became king of Judah.
42 ULB யோசபாத் ராஜாவாகிறபோது முப்பத்தைந்து வயதாக இருந்து, இருபத்தைந்து வருடங்கள் எருசலேமில் அரசாட்சிசெய்தான்; சில்கியின் மகளாகிய அவனுடைய தாயின்பெயர் அசுபாள். BSB BSB: Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-five years. His mother’s name was Azubah daughter of Shilhi.

BSB BSB: And Jehoshaphat walked in all the ways of his father Asa; he did not turn away from them, but did what was right in the eyes of the LORD. The high places, however, were not removed; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.
44 ULB யோசபாத் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவோடு சமாதானமாக இருந்தான். BSB BSB: Jehoshaphat also made peace with the king of Israel.
45 ULB யோசபாத்தின் மற்ற செயல்பாடுகளும், அவன் காட்டிய வல்லமையும், அவன் செய்த யுத்தமும், யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறது. BSB BSB: As for the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, along with the might he exercised and how he waged war, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

47 ULB அப்பொழுது ஏதோமில் ராஜா இல்லை; பதில்ராஜா ஒருவன் இருந்தான். BSB BSB: And there was no king in Edom; a deputy served as king.
48 ULB பொன்னுக்காக ஓப்பீருக்குப் போகும்படி, யோசபாத் தர்ஷீஸ் கப்பல்களைச் செய்தான்; ஆனால் அவைகள் போகவில்லை; அவைகள் எசியோன்கேபேரிலே உடைந்துபோனது. BSB BSB: Jehoshaphat built ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold, but they never set sail, because they were wrecked at Ezion-geber.

BSB BSB: At that time Ahaziah son of Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, “Let my servants sail with your servants,” but Jehoshaphat refused.
50 ULB யோசபாத் மரணமடைந்து, தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் தன்னுடைய முன்னோர்களோடு அடக்கம்செய்யப்பட்டான்; அவனுடைய மகனாகிய யோராம் அவனுடைய இடத்தில் ராஜாவானான். BSB BSB: And Jehoshaphat rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the city of his father David. And his son Jehoram reigned in his place.
51 ULB ஆகாபின் மகனாகிய அகசியா யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோசபாத்தின் பதினேழாம் வருடத்திலே சமாரியாவில் ராஜாவாகி, இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் இரண்டு வருடங்கள் அரசாட்சிசெய்து, BSB BSB: In the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat’s reign over Judah, Ahaziah son of Ahab became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria two years.
52 ULB கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குத் தீங்கானதைச் செய்து, தன்னுடைய தகப்பன் வழியிலும், தன்னுடைய தாயின் வழியிலும், இஸ்ரவேலைப் பாவம்செய்யச்செய்த நேபாத்தின் மகன் யெரொபெயாமின் வழியிலும் நடந்து, BSB BSB: And he did evil in the sight of the LORD and walked in the ways of his father and mother and of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin.
53 ULB பாகாலை வணங்கி, அதைப் பணிந்துகொண்டு, தன்னுடைய தகப்பன் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குக் கோபமூட்டினான். BSB BSB: Ahaziah served and worshiped Baal, provoking the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger, just as his father had done.
