1 ULB சிறுவனாகிய சாமுவேல் ஏலியுடன் கர்த்தருக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்துகொண்டிருந்தான்; அந்த நாட்களிலே கர்த்தருடைய வசனம் அரிதாக இருந்தது; வெளிப்படையான தரிசனம் இருந்ததில்லை. BSB BSB: And the boy Samuel ministered to the LORD before Eli. Now in those days the word of the LORD was rare, and visions were scarce.
2 ULB ஒருநாள் ஏலி தன்னுடைய படுக்கையிலே படுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்; அவன் பார்க்க முடியாதபடி அவனுடைய கண்கள் இருளடைந்திருந்தது. BSB BSB: And at that time Eli, whose eyesight had grown so dim that he could not see, was lying in his room.
3 ULB தேவனுடைய பெட்டி இருக்கிற கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் தேவனுடைய விளக்கு அணைந்துபோவதற்கு முன்பு சாமுவேல் படுத்திருந்தான். BSB BSB: Before the lamp of God had gone out, Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was located.
4 ULB அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர், சாமுவேலைக் கூப்பிட்டார். அதற்கு அவன்: இதோ, இருக்கிறேன் என்று சொல்லி, BSB BSB: Then the LORD called to Samuel, and he answered, “Here I am.”
5 ULB ஏலியினிடம் ஓடி, இதோ, இருக்கிறேன்; என்னைக் கூப்பிட்டீரே என்றான். அதற்கு அவன்: நான் கூப்பிடவில்லை, திரும்பிப்போய்ப் படுத்துக்கொள் என்றான்; அவன் போய்ப்படுத்துக்கொண்டான். BSB BSB: He ran to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you have called me.” “I did not call,” Eli replied. “Go back and lie down.” So he went and lay down.

BSB BSB: Once again the LORD called, “Samuel!” So Samuel got up, went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you have called me.” “My son, I did not call,” Eli replied. “Go back and lie down.”
7 ULB சாமுவேல் கர்த்தரை இன்னும் அறியாமல் இருந்தான்; கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை அவனுக்கு இன்னும் வெளிப்படவில்லை. BSB BSB: Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, because the word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him.
8 ULB கர்த்தர் மறுபடியும் மூன்றாம்முறை: சாமுவேலே என்று கூப்பிட்டார். அவன் எழுந்து ஏலியினிடத்தில் போய், இதோ, இருக்கிறேன்; என்னைக் கூப்பிட்டீரே என்றான். அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் பிள்ளையைக் கூப்பிடுகிறார் என்று ஏலி அறிந்து, BSB BSB: Once again, for the third time, the LORD called to Samuel. He got up, went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you have called me.” Then Eli realized that it was the LORD who was calling the boy.
9 ULB சாமுவேலை நோக்கி: நீ போய்ப்படுத்துக்கொள்; உன்னைக் கூப்பிட்டால், அப்பொழுது நீ: கர்த்தாவே சொல்லும்; அடியேன் கேட்கிறேன் என்று சொல் என்றான்; சாமுவேல் போய், தன்னுடைய இடத்திலே படுத்துக்கொண்டான். BSB BSB: “Go and lie down,” he said to Samuel, “and if He calls you, say, ‘Speak, LORD, for Your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
10 ULB அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் வந்து நின்று, முன்புபோல: சாமுவேலே சாமுவேலே என்று கூப்பிட்டார்; அதற்குச் சாமுவேல்; சொல்லும்; அடியேன் கேட்கிறேன் என்றான். BSB BSB: Then the LORD came and stood there, calling as before, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant is listening.”
11 ULB கர்த்தர் சாமுவேலை நோக்கி: இதோ. நான் இஸ்ரவேலில் ஒரு காரியத்தைச் செய்வேன்; அதைக் கேட்கிற ஒவ்வொருவனுடைய இரண்டு காதுகளிலும் அது ஒலித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும். BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Samuel, “I am about to do something in Israel at which the ears of all who hear it will tingle.
12 ULB நான் ஏலியின் குடும்பத்திற்கு எதிராகச் சொன்ன யாவையும், அவன்மேல் அந்த நாளிலே வரச்செய்வேன்; அதைத் துவங்கவும் அதை முடிக்கவும் போகிறேன். BSB BSB: On that day I will carry out against Eli everything I have spoken about his house, from beginning to end.
13 ULB அவனுடைய மகன்கள் தங்கள்மேல் சாபத்தை வரச்செய்வதை அவன் அறிந்தும், அவர்களை அடக்காமல்போன பாவத்தினால், நான் அவனுடைய குடும்பத்திற்கு என்றும் நீங்காத நியாயத்தீர்ப்புச் செய்வேன் என்று அவனுக்கு அறிவித்தேன். BSB BSB: I told him that I would judge his house forever for the iniquity of which he knows, because his sons blasphemed God and he did not restrain them.
14 ULB அதினால் ஏலியின் குடும்பத்தினர் செய்த அக்கிரமம் ஒருபோதும் பலியிலோ காணிக்கையிலோ நிவிர்த்தியாவதில்லை என்று ஏலியின் குடும்பத்தைக்குறித்து ஆணையிட்டிருக்கிறேன் என்றார். BSB BSB: Therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli, ‘The iniquity of Eli’s house shall never be atoned for by sacrifice or offering.’”
15 ULB சாமுவேல் காலைவரை படுத்திருந்து, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் கதவுகளைத் திறந்தான்; சாமுவேல் ஏலிக்கு அந்தத் தரிசனத்தை அறிவிக்கப் பயந்தான். BSB BSB: Samuel lay down until the morning; then he opened the doors of the house of the LORD. He was afraid to tell Eli the vision,
16 ULB ஏலியோ: சாமுவேலே, என் மகனே என்று சாமுவேலைக் கூப்பிட்டான். அவன்: இதோ, இருக்கிறேன் என்றான். BSB BSB: but Eli called to him and said, “Samuel, my son.” “Here I am,” answered Samuel.
17 ULB அப்பொழுது அவன்: கர்த்தர் உன்னிடத்தில் சொன்ன காரியம் என்ன? எனக்கு அதை மறைக்கவேண்டாம்; அவர் உன்னிடத்தில் சொன்ன எல்லா காரியத்திலும் ஏதாவது ஒன்றை எனக்கு மறைத்தால், தேவன் உனக்கு அதற்குச் சரியாகவும் அதற்கு அதிகமாகவும் செய்வாராக என்றான். BSB BSB: “What was the message He gave you?” Eli asked. “Do not hide it from me. May God punish you, and ever so severely, if you hide from me anything He said to you.”
18 ULB அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் ஒன்றையும் அவனுக்கு மறைக்காமல், அந்தக் காரியங்களையெல்லாம் அவனுக்கு அறிவித்தான். அதற்கு அவன்: அவர் கர்த்தர்: அவர் தமது பார்வைக்கு நலமானதைச் செய்வாராக என்றான். BSB BSB: So Samuel told him everything and did not hide a thing from him. “He is the LORD,” replied Eli. “Let Him do what is good in His eyes.”
19 ULB சாமுவேல் வளர்ந்தான்; கர்த்தர் அவனோடு இருந்தார்; அவர் தம்முடைய எல்லா வார்த்தைகளிலும் ஒன்றையாவது தரையிலே விழுந்துபோகவிடவில்லை. BSB BSB: And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and He let none of Samuel’s words fall to the ground.
20 ULB சாமுவேல் கர்த்தருடைய தீர்க்கதரிசிதான் என்று தாண் துவங்கி பெயெர்செபாவரை உள்ள எல்லா இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்கும் தெரிந்தது. BSB BSB: So all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel was confirmed as a prophet of the LORD.
21 ULB கர்த்தர் பின்னும் சீலோவிலே தரிசனம் தந்தருளினார்; கர்த்தர் சீலோவிலே தம்முடைய வார்த்தையினாலே சாமுவேலுக்குத் தம்மை வெளிப்படுத்தினார். BSB BSB: And the LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, because there He revealed Himself to Samuel by His word.
