BSB BSB: In the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, Josiah began to seek the God of his father David, and in the twelfth year he began to cleanse Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the Asherah poles, the carved idols, and the cast images.

BSB BSB: They put it into the hands of those supervising the work in the house of the LORD, who in turn gave it to the workmen restoring and repairing the house of the LORD.

BSB BSB: They also gave money to the carpenters and builders to buy dressed stone, as well as timbers for couplings and beams for the buildings that the kings of Judah had allowed to deteriorate.

BSB BSB: While they were bringing out the money that had been taken into the house of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest found the Book of the Law of the LORD given by Moses.
15 ULB அப்பொழுது இல்க்கியா, பதிவாளனாகிய சாப்பானை நோக்கி: கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலே நியாயப்பிரமாணப் புத்தகத்தைக் கண்டெடுத்தேன் என்று சொல்லி, அந்தப் புத்தகத்தை சாப்பானுடைய கையில் கொடுத்தான். BSB BSB: And Hilkiah said to Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the LORD!” And he gave it to Shaphan.
16 ULB சாப்பான் அந்த புத்தகத்தை ராஜாவினிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோய், அவனை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய வேலைக்காரர்களுக்கு கட்டளையிடப்பட்டவைகளையெல்லாம் அவர்கள் செய்கிறார்கள். BSB BSB: Then Shaphan brought the book to the king and reported, “Your servants are doing all that has been placed in their hands.

18 ULB ஆசாரியனாகிய இல்க்கியா என் கையில் ஒரு புத்தகத்தைக் கொடுத்தான் என்பதைப் பதிவாளனாகிய சாப்பான் ராஜாவுக்கு அறிவித்து, ராஜாவுக்கு முன்பாக அதை வாசித்தான். BSB BSB: Moreover, Shaphan the scribe told the king, “Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it in the presence of the king.

BSB BSB: “Go and inquire of the LORD for me and for those remaining in Israel and Judah concerning the words in the book that has been found. For great is the wrath of the LORD that has been poured out on us because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD by doing all that is written in this book.”
22 ULB அப்பொழுது இல்க்கியாவும் ராஜா அனுப்பின மற்றவர்களும் அஸ்ராவின் மகனாகிய திக்வாதின் மகனான சல்லூம் என்னும் ஆடைகள் வைக்கும் அறைகளின் கண்காணிப்பாளனின் மனைவியாகிய உல்தாள் என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசியானவளிடம் போனார்கள்; அவள் எருசலேமில் இரண்டாம் பகுதியிலே குடியிருந்தாள்; அவளோடு அதைக்குறித்துப் பேசினார்கள். BSB BSB: So Hilkiah and those the king had designated went and spoke to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, the keeper of the wardrobe. She lived in Jerusalem, in the Second District.

BSB BSB: that this is what the LORD says: I am about to bring calamity on this place and on its people, according to all the curses written in the book that has been read in the presence of the king of Judah,

BSB BSB: because they have forsaken Me and burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke Me to anger with all the works of their hands. My wrath will be poured out upon this place and will not be quenched.’

BSB BSB: because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its people, and because you have humbled yourself before Me and have torn your clothes and wept before Me, I have heard you,’ declares the LORD.

BSB BSB: ‘Now I will indeed gather you to your fathers, and you will be gathered to your grave in peace. Your eyes will not see all the calamity that I will bring on this place and on its people.’” So they brought her answer back to the king.
29 ULB அப்பொழுது ராஜா யூதாவிலும் எருசலேமிலுமுள்ள மூப்பரையெல்லாம் வரவழைத்துக் கூடிவரச்செய்து, BSB BSB: Then the king summoned all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.
30 ULB ராஜாவும், அனைத்து யூதா மனிதர்களும், எருசலேமின் மக்களும், ஆசாரியர்களும், லேவியர்களும், பெரியோர்முதல் சிறியோர் வரையுள்ள அனைவரும் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குப் போனார்கள்; கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலே கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட உடன்படிக்கைப் புத்தகத்தின் வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் அவர்கள் காதுகள் கேட்க வாசித்தான். BSB BSB: And he went up to the house of the LORD with all the people of Judah and Jerusalem, as well as the priests and the Levites—all the people great and small—and in their hearing he read all the words of the Book of the Covenant that had been found in the house of the LORD.
31 ULB ராஜா தன் ஸ்தானத்திலே நின்று, அந்தப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிற உடன்படிக்கையின் வார்த்தைகளின்படியே தன் செயல்கள் மூலமாகக் கர்த்தரைப் பின்பற்றி நடப்பேன் என்றும், தன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும், தன் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும், அவருடைய கற்பனைகளையும், அவருடைய சாட்சிகளையும் அவருடைய கட்டளைகளையும் கைக்கொள்ளுவேன் என்றும் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் உடன்படிக்கைசெய்து, BSB BSB: So the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the LORD to follow the LORD and to keep His commandments, decrees, and statutes with all his heart and all his soul, and to carry out the words of the covenant that were written in this book.
32 ULB எருசலேமிலும் பென்யமீனிலும் காணப்பட்ட யாவரையும் அதற்கு இணங்கச்செய்தான்; அப்படியே எருசலேமின் மக்கள் தங்கள் முன்னோர்களின் தேவனாகிய அந்த தேவனுடைய உடன்படிக்கையின்படியே செய்தார்கள். BSB BSB: Then he had everyone in Jerusalem and Benjamin take a stand in agreement to it. So all the people of Jerusalem carried out the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.
33 ULB யோசியா இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுடைய தேசங்கள் எங்கும் உண்டான அருவருப்புகளையெல்லாம் அகற்றி. இஸ்ரவேலிலே காணப்பட்டவர்களையெல்லாம் தங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை ஆராதிக்கச் செய்தான்; அவன் உயிரோடிருந்த நாட்களெல்லாம் அவர்கள் தங்கள் முன்னோர்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைவிட்டுப் பின்வாங்கினதில்லை. BSB BSB: And Josiah removed all the abominations from all the lands belonging to the Israelites, and he required everyone in Israel to serve the LORD their God. Throughout his reign they did not turn aside from following the LORD, the God of their fathers.
