1அந்தியோகியா பட்டணத்திலுள்ள சபையிலே பர்னபாவும், நீகர் என்னப்பட்ட சிமியோனும், சிரேனே ஊரானாகிய லூகியும், காற்பங்கு தேசத்தின் அதிபதியாகிய ஏரோதுடன் வளர்க்கப்பட்ட மனாயீனும், சவுலும், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளாகவும் போதகர்களாகவும் இருந்தார்கள்.Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch), and Saul.

2அவர்கள் கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்து, உபவாசித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறபோது: பர்னபாவையும் சவுலையும் நான் அழைத்த ஊழியத்துக்காக அவர்களைப் பிரித்துவிடுங்கள் என்று பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் உரைத்தார்.While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

3அப்பொழுது உபவாசித்து ஜெபம்பண்ணி, அவர்கள்மேல் கரங்களை வைத்து, அவர்களை அனுப்பினார்கள்.And after they had fasted and prayed, they laid their hands on them and sent them off.

6அவர்கள் பாப்போ பட்டணம்வரைக்கும் தீவைக் கடந்துவந்தபோது, பர்யேசு என்னும் பெயர்கொண்ட மாயவித்தைக்காரனும் கள்ளத்தீர்க்கதரிசியுமான ஒரு யூதனைப் பார்த்தார்கள்.They traveled through the whole island as far as Paphos, where they found a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus,

7அவன் விவேகமுள்ள மனிதனாகிய செர்கியுபவுல் என்னும் அதிபதியோடு இருந்தான். அந்த அதிபதி பர்னபாவையும் சவுலையும் அழைத்து, அவர்களிடத்தில் தேவவசனத்தைக் கேட்க ஆசையாக இருந்தான்.an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, a man of intelligence, summoned Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God.

8மாயவித்தைக்காரன் என்று அர்த்தங்கொள்ளும் பெயரையுடைய எலிமா என்பவன், அதிபதியை இயேசுவை விசுவாசிக்காமல் திசைதிரும்பும்படி செய்ய, அவர்களோடு எதிர்த்து நின்றான்.But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith.

9அப்பொழுது பவுல் என்று சொல்லப்பட்ட சவுல் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரால் நிறைந்தவனாக அவனை உற்றுப்பார்த்து:Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked directly at Elymas

10எல்லாக் கபடமும் அக்கிரமமும் நிறைந்தவனே, பிசாசின் மகனே, உண்மைக்கெல்லாம் பகைவனே, கர்த்தருடைய செம்மையான வழிகளைப் புரட்டுவதை நிறுத்தமாட்டாயோ?and said, “O child of the devil and enemy of all righteousness, you are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery! Will you never stop perverting the straight ways of the Lord?

11இதோ, இப்பொழுதே கர்த்தருடைய கை உன்மேல் வந்திருக்கிறது, கொஞ்சகாலம் நீ சூரியனைப் பார்க்காமல் குருடனாக இருப்பாய் என்றான். உடனே அவன் தன் கண்பார்வையை இழந்தான்; அவன் தடுமாறி, தனக்கு கை கொடுக்கிறவர்களைத் தேடினான்.Now look, the hand of the Lord is against you, and for a time you will be blind and unable to see the light of the sun.” Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand.

12அப்பொழுது அதிபதி நடந்தவைகளைப் பார்த்து, கர்த்தருடைய உபதேசத்தைக்குறித்து அதிசயப்பட்டு, விசுவாசித்தான்.When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was astonished at the teaching about the Lord.

13பின்பு பவுலும் அவனைச் சேர்ந்தவர்களும் பாப்போ பட்டணத்தைவிட்டுக் கப்பல் ஏறிப் பம்பிலியாவில் இருக்கும் பெர்கே பட்டணத்திற்கு வந்தார்கள். யோவான் அவர்களைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்து, எருசலேமுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போனான்.After setting sail from Paphos, Paul and his companions came to Perga in Pamphylia, where John left them to return to Jerusalem.

14அவர்கள் பெர்கே பட்டணத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, பிசீதியா நாட்டிலுள்ள அந்தியோகியாவிற்கு வந்து, ஓய்வுநாளிலே ஜெப ஆலயத்திற்குச் சென்று, உட்கார்ந்தார்கள்.And from Perga, they traveled inland to Pisidian Antioch, where they entered the synagogue on the Sabbath and sat down.

15மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாண புத்தகமும் தீர்க்கதரிசன புத்தகமும் படித்துமுடிந்தபின்பு: சகோதரர்களே, நீங்கள் மக்களுக்குப் புத்திச்சொல்ல விரும்பினால் சொல்லுங்கள் என்று சொல்லச்சொல்லி ஜெப ஆலயத்தலைவர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு ஆள் அனுப்பினார்கள்.After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the synagogue leaders sent word to them: “Brothers, if you have a word of encouragement for the people, please speak.”

16அப்பொழுது பவுல் எழுந்திருந்து, கையசைத்து: இஸ்ரவேலர்களே, தேவனுக்குப் பயந்து நடக்கிற மக்களே, கேளுங்கள்.Paul stood up, motioned with his hand, and began to speak: “Men of Israel and you Gentiles who fear God, listen to me!

17இஸ்ரவேலராகிய இந்த மக்களுடைய தேவன் நம்முடைய முற்பிதாக்களைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு எகிப்து தேசத்தில் அவர்கள் பரதேசிகளாக வாழ்ந்தபோது அவர்களை உயர்த்தி, தமது வல்லமையுள்ள கரத்தினால் அங்கிருந்து அவர்களைப் புறப்படப்பண்ணி,The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers. He made them into a great people during their stay in Egypt, and with an uplifted arm He led them out of that land.

18நாற்பது வருடங்களாக வனாந்திரத்தில் அவர்களை ஆதரித்து,He endured their conduct for about forty years in the wilderness.

19கானான் தேசத்தில் ஏழு மக்கள் இனங்களை அழித்து, அவர்களுடைய தேசத்தை இவர்களுக்குச் சொந்தமாகப் பங்கிட்டுக் கொடுத்து,And having vanquished seven nations in Canaan, He gave their land to His people as an inheritance.

20பின்பு ஏறக்குறைய நானூற்று ஐம்பது வருடங்களாக சாமுவேல் தீர்க்கதரிசிவரைக்கும் அவர்களுக்கு நியாயாதிபதிகளை நியமித்துவந்தார்.All this took about 450 years. After this, God gave them judges until the time of Samuel the prophet.

21அதற்குப்பின்பு மக்கள் தங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜா வேண்டுமென்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டார்கள்; அப்படியே தேவன் பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்தைச் சேர்ந்த கீசுடைய மகனான சவுலை நாற்பது வருடங்களாக அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்.Then the people asked for a king, and God gave them Saul son of Kish, from the tribe of Benjamin, who ruled forty years.

23அவனுடைய வம்சத்திலே தேவன் தமது வாக்குத்தத்தத்தின்படியே இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு இரட்சகராக இயேசுவை எழும்பப்பண்ணினார்.From the descendants of this man, God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus, as He promised.

24இவர் வெளிப்படுவதற்குமுன்னே மனம்திரும்புவதற்கான ஞானஸ்நானத்தைப்பற்றி யோவான் இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லோருக்கும் போதித்தான்.Before the arrival of Jesus, John preached a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

25யோவான் தன் பணிகளை முடிக்கிறபோது: நீங்கள் என்னை யார் என்று நினைக்கிறீர்கள்? நான் அவர் இல்லை, இதோ, எனக்குப்பின்பு ஒருவர் வருகிறார், அவருடைய காலணிகளை அவிழ்ப்பதற்குக்கூட நான் தகுதியானவன் இல்லை என்றான்.As John was completing his course, he said, ‘Who do you suppose I am? I am not that One. But there is One coming after me whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.’

27எருசலேமில் குடியிருக்கிறவர்களும் அவர்கள் அதிகாரிகளும், அவரைத் தெரியாமலும், ஓய்வுநாட்களில் வாசிக்கப்படுகிற தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் வாக்கியங்களைத் தெரியாமலும், அவரை தண்டனைக்குள்ளாக்கியதினால் அந்த வாக்கியங்களை நிறைவேற்றினார்கள்.The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus, yet in condemning Him they fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath.

28கொலை செய்யப்படுவதற்கான காரணங்கள் ஒன்றும் அவரிடத்தில் இல்லாதிருந்தும், அவரைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படிக்குப் பிலாத்துவை வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.And though they found no ground for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have Him executed.

29அவரைக்குறித்து எழுதியிருக்கிறவைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் அவர்கள் நிறைவேற்றினபின்பு, அவரை மரத்திலிருந்து இறக்கி, கல்லறையிலே வைத்தார்கள்.When they had carried out all that was written about Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb.

30தேவனோ அவரை மரணத்திலிருந்து உயிரோடு எழுப்பினார்.But God raised Him from the dead,

31இயேசு கலிலேயாவிலிருந்து எருசலேமுக்குத் தம்மோடு வந்தவர்களுக்கு அநேகநாட்கள் தரிசனமானார்; அவர்களே மக்களுக்கு முன்பாக அவருக்குச் சாட்சிகளாக இருக்கிறார்கள்.and for many days He was seen by those who had accompanied Him from Galilee to Jerusalem. They are now His witnesses to our people.

32நீர் என்னுடைய மகன், இன்று நான் உம்மைப் பெற்றேன் என்று இரண்டாம் சங்கீதத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியே,And now we proclaim to you the good news: What God promised our fathers

33இயேசுவை உயிரோடு எழுப்பினதினாலே தேவன் நம்முடைய முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு அருளிய வாக்குத்தத்தத்தை அவர்களுடைய பிள்ளைகளாகிய நமக்கு நிறைவேற்றினார் என்று நாங்களும் உங்களுக்கு நற்செய்தியாக அறிவிக்கிறோம்.He has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written in the second Psalm: ‘You are My Son; today I have become Your Father.’

34அவர் இனி ஒருபோதும் அழிவுக்குட்படாதபடி தேவன் அவரை உயிரோடு எழுப்பினார் என்பதைக்குறித்து: தாவீதுக்கு அருளின நிச்சயமான கிருபைகளை உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுவேன் என்று உரைத்தார்.In fact, God raised Him from the dead, never to see decay. As He has said: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.’

35அன்றியும், உம்முடைய பரிசுத்தர் அழிவைக் காணவிடமாட்டீர் என்று வேறொரு சங்கீதத்தில் சொல்லியிருக்கிறது.So also, He says in another Psalm: ‘You will not let Your Holy One see decay.’

36தாவீது தன் காலத்திலே தேவனுடைய விருப்பத்தின்படி அவருக்கு ஊழியம் செய்தபின்பு மரித்து, தன் முற்பிதாக்களிடத்திலே சேர்க்கப்பட்டு, அழிவைக் கண்டான்.For when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep. His body was buried with his fathers and saw decay.

37தேவனால் உயிரோடு எழுப்பப்பட்டவரோ அழிவைக் காணவில்லை.But the One whom God raised from the dead did not see decay.

38ஆதலால் சகோதரர்களே, இயேசுகிறிஸ்து மூலமாக உங்களுக்குப் பாவமன்னிப்பு உண்டாகும் என்று அறிவிக்கப்படுகிறதென்றும்,Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.

39மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினாலே நீங்கள் எவைகளில் இருந்து விடுதலையாகி நீதிமான்களாக்கப்பட முடியாமலிருந்ததோ, விசுவாசிக்கிற எவனும் அவைகளிலிருந்து இயேசுவாலே விடுதலையாகி நீதிமானாக்கப்படுகிறான் என்றும் உங்களுக்குத் தெரிந்திருப்பதாக.Through Him everyone who believes is justified from everything from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

40அன்றியும், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் புத்தகத்திலே:Watch out, then, that what was spoken by the prophets does not happen to you:

41அசட்டைப்பண்ணுகிறவர்களே, பாருங்கள், ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு அழிந்துபோங்கள்! உங்களுடைய நாட்களில் நான் ஒரு செயலைச் செய்திடுவேன், ஒருவன் அதை உங்களுக்கு விளக்கிச் சொன்னாலும் நீங்கள் நம்பமாட்டீர்கள் என்று சொல்லியிருக்கிறபடி, உங்களுக்கு நடக்காதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாக இருங்கள் என்றான்.‘Look, you scoffers, wonder and perish! For I am doing a work in your days that you would never believe, even if someone told you.’”

42அவர்கள் யூதர்களுடைய ஜெப ஆலயத்திலிருந்து புறப்படும்பொழுது, அடுத்த ஓய்வுநாளிலே இந்த வசனங்களைத் தங்களுக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டும் என்று யூதரல்லாதோர் கேட்டுக்கொண்டார்கள்.As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the synagogue, the people urged them to continue this message on the next Sabbath.

43ஜெப ஆலய கூட்டம் முடிந்தபின்பு, யூதர்களிலும் யூதமார்க்கத்தைப் பின்பற்றின பக்தியுள்ளவர்களில் அநேகர் பவுலையும் பர்னபாவையும் பின்பற்றினார்கள். அவர்களோடு இவர்கள் பேசி, தேவனுடைய கிருபையிலே நிலைத்திருக்கும்படி அவர்களுக்குப் புத்திசொன்னார்கள்.After the synagogue was dismissed, many of the Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who spoke to them and urged them to continue in the grace of God.

44அடுத்த ஓய்வுநாளிலே பட்டணத்தார் அனைவரும் தேவவசனத்தைக் கேட்பதற்காக கூடிவந்தார்கள்.On the following Sabbath, nearly the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord.

45யூதர்கள் மக்கள் கூட்டங்களைப் பார்த்தபோது பொறாமைப்பட்டு, பவுலினால் சொல்லப்பட்டவைகளுக்கு எதிராகப் பேசி, அவர்களை அவமதித்தார்கள்.But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy, and they blasphemously contradicted what Paul was saying.

46அப்பொழுது பவுலும் பர்னபாவும் தைரியத்தோடு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: முதலாவது உங்களுக்குத்தான் தேவவசனத்தைச் சொல்லவேண்டியதாயிருந்தது; ஆனால் நீங்களோ அதை வேண்டாம் என்று தள்ளி, உங்களை நீங்களே நித்தியஜீவனுக்கு தகுதியற்றவர்கள் என்று தீர்த்துக்கொள்ளுகிறபடியால், இதோ, நாங்கள் யூதரல்லாதோர்களிடத்திற்குப் போகிறோம்.Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. But since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.

47நீர் பூமியின் கடைசிவரை இரட்சிப்பாக இருப்பதற்கு உம்மை மக்களுக்கு ஒளியாக வைத்தேன் என்கிற வேதவாக்கியத்தின்படி கர்த்தர் எங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கிறதினால் இப்படிச் செய்கிறோம் என்றார்கள்.For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”

48யூதரல்லாதோர் அதைக்கேட்டு சந்தோஷப்பட்டு, கர்த்தருடைய வசனத்தை மகிமைப்படுத்தினார்கள். நித்தியஜீவனுக்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் எவர்களோ அவர்கள் விசுவாசித்தார்கள்.When the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the word of the Lord, and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

49கர்த்தருடைய வசனம் அந்த தேசம் முழுவதும் பிரசித்தமானது.And the word of the Lord spread throughout that region.

50யூதர்கள் பக்தியும் கனமும் பெற்ற பெண்களையும் பட்டணத்து முதலாளிகளையும் தூண்டிவிட்டு, பவுலையும் பர்னபாவையும் துன்பப்படுத்தும்படி செய்து, தங்களுடைய எல்லைகளுக்கு வெளியே அவர்களைத் துரத்திவிட்டார்கள்.The Jews, however, incited the religious women of prominence and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas and drove them out of their district.

51இவர்கள் தங்களுடைய கால்களில் இருந்த தூசிகளை அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக உதறிப்போட்டு, இக்கோனியா பட்டணத்திற்குப் போனார்கள்.So they shook the dust off their feet in protest against them and went to Iconium.

52சீடர்கள் சந்தோஷத்தினாலும் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவராலும் நிரப்பப்பட்டார்கள்.And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
