BSB BSB: So after he had lived in Canaan for ten years, his wife Sarai took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to Abram to be his wife.

5 ULB அப்பொழுது சாராய் ஆபிராமை நோக்கி: எனக்கு நேரிட்ட அநியாயம் உம்மேல் சுமரும்; என்னுடைய அடிமைப்பெண்ணை உம்முடைய மடியிலே கொடுத்தேன்; அவள் தான் கர்ப்பவதியானதைக் கண்டு என்னை அற்பமாக நினைக்கிறாள்; கர்த்தர் எனக்கும் உமக்கும் நடுநிலையாக நியாயந்தீர்ப்பாராக என்றாள். BSB BSB: Then Sarai said to Abram, “May the wrong done to me be upon you! I delivered my servant into your arms, and ever since she saw that she was pregnant, she has treated me with contempt. May the LORD judge between you and me.”
6 ULB அதற்கு ஆபிராம் சாராயை நோக்கி: இதோ, உன் அடிமைப்பெண் உன் அதிகாரத்திற்குள் இருக்கிறாள்; உன் பார்வைக்கு நலமாகத் தோன்றுகிறபடி அவளுக்குச் செய் என்றான். அப்பொழுது சாராய் அவளைக் கடினமாக நடத்தியதால் அவள் அவளைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனாள். BSB BSB: “Here,” said Abram, “your servant is in your hands. Do whatever you want with her.” Then Sarai treated Hagar so harshly that she fled from her.
8 ULB சாராயின் அடிமைப்பெண்ணாகிய ஆகாரே, எங்கேயிருந்து வருகிறாய்? எங்கே போகிறாய்? என்று கேட்டார்; அவள்: நான் என் எஜமானியாகிய சாராயைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போகிறேன் என்றாள். BSB BSB: “Hagar, servant of Sarai,” he said, “where have you come from, and where are you going?” “I am running away from my mistress Sarai,” she replied.
9 ULB அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர்: நீ உன் எஜமானியிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போய், அவளுடைய அதிகாரத்திற்குள் அடங்கியிரு என்றார். BSB BSB: So the angel of the LORD told her, “Return to your mistress and submit to her authority.”
10 ULB பின்னும் கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் அவளை நோக்கி: உன் சந்ததியை மிகவும் பெருகச்செய்வேன்; அது பெருகி, எண்ணிமுடியாததாக இருக்கும் என்றார். BSB BSB: Then the angel added, “I will greatly multiply your offspring so that they will be too numerous to count.”
11 ULB பின்னும் கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் அவளை நோக்கி: நீ கர்ப்பவதியாக இருக்கிறாய், ஒரு மகனைப் பெற்றெடுப்பாய்; கர்த்தர் உன் அங்கலாய்ப்பைக் கேட்டதால், அவனுக்கு இஸ்மவேல் என்று பெயரிடுவாயாக. BSB BSB: The angel of the LORD proceeded: “Behold, you have conceived and will bear a son. And you shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard your cry of affliction.
12 ULB அவன் கொடூரமான மனிதனாக இருப்பான்; அவனுடைய கை எல்லோருக்கும் விரோதமாகவும், எல்லோருடைய கையும் அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகவும் இருக்கும்; தன் சகோதரர்கள் எல்லோருக்கும் எதிராகக் குடியிருப்பான் என்றார். BSB BSB: He will be a wild donkey of a man, and his hand will be against everyone, and everyone’s hand against him; he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”
13 ULB அப்பொழுது அவள்: என்னைக் காண்பவரை நானும் இந்த இடத்தில் கண்டேன் அல்லவா என்று சொல்லி, தன்னுடன் பேசின கர்த்தருக்கு நீர் என்னைக்காண்கிற தேவன் என்று பெயரிட்டாள். BSB BSB: So Hagar gave this name to the LORD who had spoken to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “Here I have seen the One who sees me!”
14 ULB ஆகையால், அந்தக் கிணற்றின் பெயர் லகாய்ரோயீ எனப்பட்டது; அது காதேசுக்கும் பாரேத்துக்கும் நடுவே இருக்கிறது. BSB BSB: Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi. It is located between Kadesh and Bered.
15 ULB ஆகார் ஆபிராமுக்கு ஒரு மகனைப் பெற்றெடுத்தாள்; ஆபிராம் ஆகார் பெற்ற தன் மகனுக்கு இஸ்மவேல் என்று பெயரிட்டான். BSB BSB: And Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne.
16 ULB ஆகார் ஆபிராமுக்கு இஸ்மவேலைப் பெற்றெடுத்தபோது, ஆபிராம் எண்பத்தாறு வயதாயிருந்தான். BSB BSB: Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to him.
