1 ULB கர்த்தர் தாம் சொல்லியிருந்தபடி சாராளைக் கண்ணோக்கினார்; கர்த்தர் தாம் வாக்களித்தபடியே சாராளுக்குச் செய்தருளினார். BSB BSB: Now the LORD attended to Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what He had promised.
2 ULB ஆபிரகாம் முதிர்வயதாக இருக்கும்போது, சாராள் கர்ப்பவதியாகி, தேவன் குறித்திருந்த காலத்தில் அவனுக்கு ஒரு மகனைப் பெற்றெடுத்தாள். BSB BSB: So Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised.
3 ULB அப்பொழுது ஆபிரகாம் தனக்கு சாராள் பெற்ற மகனுக்கு ஈசாக்கு என்று பெயரிட்டான். BSB BSB: And Abraham gave the name Isaac to the son Sarah bore to him.
4 ULB தன் மகனாகிய ஈசாக்கு பிறந்த எட்டாம் நாளில், ஆபிரகாம் தனக்குத் தேவன் கட்டளையிட்டிருந்தபடி அவனுக்கு விருத்தசேதனம் செய்தான். BSB BSB: When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God had commanded him.
5 ULB தன் மகனாகிய ஈசாக்கு பிறந்தபோது ஆபிரகாம் நூறுவயதாயிருந்தான். BSB BSB: Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.
6 ULB அப்பொழுது சாராள்: தேவன் என்னை மகிழச்செய்தார்; இதைக்கேட்கிற அனைவரும் என்னோடுகூட மகிழ்வார்கள். BSB BSB: Then Sarah said, “God has made me laugh, and everyone who hears of this will laugh with me.”
7 ULB சாராள் குழந்தைகளுக்குப் பால்கொடுப்பாள் என்று ஆபிரகாமுக்கு யார் சொல்லுவான்? அவருடைய முதிர்வயதிலே அவருக்கு ஒரு மகனைப் பெற்றேனே என்றாள். BSB BSB: She added, “Who would have told Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”
8 ULB குழந்தை வளர்ந்து, பால் மறந்தது; ஈசாக்கு பால் மறந்தநாளிலே ஆபிரகாம் பெரிய விருந்து செய்தான். BSB BSB: So the child grew and was weaned, and Abraham held a great feast on the day Isaac was weaned.
9 ULB பின்பு எகிப்து தேசத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ஆகார் ஆபிரகாமுக்குப் பெற்ற மகன் கேலி செய்கிறதை சாராள் கண்டு, BSB BSB: But Sarah saw that the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham was mocking her son,
10 ULB ஆபிரகாமை நோக்கி: இந்த அடிமைப்பெண்ணையும் அவளுடைய மகனையும் துரத்திவிடும்; இந்த அடிமைப்பெண்ணின் மகன் என் மகனாகிய ஈசாக்கோடு வாரிசாக இருப்பதில்லை என்றாள். BSB BSB: and she said to Abraham, “Expel the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac!”
11 ULB தன் மகனைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லப்பட்ட இந்தக் காரியம் ஆபிரகாமுக்கு மிகவும் துக்கமாக இருந்தது. BSB BSB: Now this matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son Ishmael.
13 ULB அடிமைப்பெண்ணின் மகனும் உன் வித்தாக இருப்பதால், அவனையும் ஒரு தேசமாக்குவேன் என்றார். BSB BSB: But I will also make a nation of the slave woman’s son, because he is your offspring.”
14 ULB ஆபிரகாம் அதிகாலையில் எழுந்து, அப்பத்தையும் ஒரு தோல்பையில் தண்ணீரையும் எடுத்து, ஆகாருடைய தோளின்மேல் வைத்து, சிறுவனையும் ஒப்படைத்து, அவளை அனுப்பிவிட்டான்; அவள் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், பெயர்செபாவின் வனாந்திரத்திலே அலைந்து திரிந்தாள். BSB BSB: Early in the morning, Abraham got up, took bread and a skin of water, put them on Hagar’s shoulders, and sent her away with the boy. She left and wandered in the Wilderness of Beersheba.
15 ULB தோல்பையிலிருந்த தண்ணீர் தீர்ந்தபின்பு, அவள் சிறுவனை ஒரு செடியின் கீழே விட்டு, BSB BSB: When the water in the skin was gone, she left the boy under one of the bushes.
16 ULB சிறுவன் சாகிறதை நான் பார்க்கமாட்டேன் என்று, அவனைவிட்டு அம்பு பாயும் தூரத்திலே போய் உட்கார்ந்து சத்தமிட்டு அழுதாள். BSB BSB: Then she went off and sat down nearby, about a bowshot away, for she said, “I cannot bear to watch the boy die!” And as she sat nearby, she lifted up her voice and wept.
18 ULB நீ எழுந்து சிறுவனை எடுத்து அவனை உன் கையினால் பிடித்துக் கொண்டுபோ, அவனைப் பெரிய தேசமாக்குவேன் என்றார். BSB BSB: Get up, lift up the boy, and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.”
19 ULB தேவன் அவளுடைய கண்களைத் திறந்தார்; அப்பொழுது அவள் ஒரு கிணற்றைக் கண்டு, போய், தோல்பையில் தண்ணீரை நிரப்பி, சிறுவனுக்குக் குடிக்கக் கொடுத்தாள். BSB BSB: Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.
20 ULB தேவன் சிறுவனுடனே இருந்தார்; அவன் வளர்ந்து வனாந்திரத்திலே குடியிருந்து வில்வித்தையிலே வல்லவனானான். BSB BSB: And God was with the boy, and he grew up and settled in the wilderness and became a great archer.
21 ULB அவன் பாரான் வனாந்திரத்திலே குடியிருக்கும்போது, அவனுடைய தாய் எகிப்து தேசத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ஒரு பெண்ணை அவனுக்குத் திருமணம் செய்துவைத்தாள். BSB BSB: And while he was dwelling in the Wilderness of Paran, his mother got a wife for him from the land of Egypt.
22 ULB அந்த காலத்தில் அபிமெலேக்கும் அவனுடைய படைத்தலைவனாகிய பிகோலும் ஆபிரகாமை நோக்கி: நீ செய்கிற காரியங்கள் எல்லாவற்றிலும் தேவன் உன்னுடனே இருக்கிறார். BSB BSB: At that time Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army said to Abraham, “God is with you in all that you do.
23 ULB ஆகையால், நீ எனக்காவது, என் மகனுக்காவது, பேரனுக்காவது வஞ்சனை செய்யாமல், நான் உனக்குச் செய்த தயவின்படியே, நீ எனக்கும், நீ தங்கியிருக்கிற இந்தத் தேசத்திற்கும், தயவு செய்வேன் என்று இங்கே தேவன் பேரில் எனக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடு என்றான். BSB BSB: Now, therefore, swear to me here before God that you will not deal falsely with me or my children or descendants. Show to me and to the country in which you reside the same kindness that I have shown to you.”
24 ULB அதற்கு ஆபிரகாம்: நான் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுக்கிறேன் என்றான். BSB BSB: And Abraham replied, “I swear it.”
25 ULB ஆனாலும், அபிமெலேக்குடைய வேலைக்காரர்கள் கைப்பற்றிக்கொண்ட கிணற்றிற்காக ஆபிரகாம் அபிமெலேக்கைக் கடிந்துகொண்டான். BSB BSB: But when Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well that Abimelech’s servants had seized,
26 ULB அதற்கு அபிமெலேக்கு: இந்தக் காரியத்தைச் செய்தவன் யார் என்று எனக்குத் தெரியாது, நீயும் எனக்குத் தெரிவிக்கவில்லை; இன்று நான் அதைக் கேட்டதைத்தவிர, இதற்குமுன் அதை நான் கேள்விப்படவே இல்லை என்றான். BSB BSB: Abimelech replied, “I do not know who has done this. You did not tell me, so I have not heard about it until today.”
27 ULB அப்பொழுது ஆபிரகாம் ஆடுமாடுகளைக் கொண்டுவந்து அபிமெலேக்குக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; அவர்கள் இருவரும் உடன்படிக்கை செய்துகொண்டார்கள். BSB BSB: So Abraham brought sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelech, and the two men made a covenant.
28 ULB ஆபிரகாம் ஏழு பெண்ணாட்டுக்குட்டிகளைத் தனியே நிறுத்தினான். BSB BSB: Abraham separated seven ewe lambs from the flock,
29 ULB அப்பொழுது அபிமெலேக்கு ஆபிரகாமை நோக்கி: நீ தனியே நிறுத்தின இந்த ஏழு பெண்ணாட்டுக்குட்டிகள் எதற்கு? என்று கேட்டான். BSB BSB: and Abimelech asked him, “Why have you set apart these seven ewe lambs?”
30 ULB அதற்கு அவன்: நான் இந்தக் கிணறு தோண்டியதைக்குறித்து, நீர் சாட்சியாக இந்த ஏழு பெண்ணாட்டுக்குட்டிகளை என் கையில் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டும் என்றான். BSB BSB: He replied, “You are to accept the seven ewe lambs from my hand as my witness that I dug this well.”
31 ULB அவர்கள் இருவரும் அந்த இடத்தில் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொண்டதால், அந்த இடம் பெயெர்செபா எனப்பட்டது. BSB BSB: So that place was called Beersheba, because it was there that the two of them swore an oath.
32 ULB அவர்கள் பெயெர்செபாவிலே உடன்படிக்கை செய்துகொண்டபின்பு அபிமெலேக்கும், அவனுடைய படைத்தலைவனாகிய பிகோலும் எழுந்து பெலிஸ்தருடைய தேசத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போனார்கள். BSB BSB: After they had made the covenant at Beersheba, Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army got up and returned to the land of the Philistines.
33 ULB ஆபிரகாம் பெயெர்செபாவிலே ஒரு தோப்பை உண்டாக்கி, சதாகாலமுமுள்ள தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தை அந்த இடத்தில் தொழுதுகொண்டான். BSB BSB: And Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called upon the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.
34 ULB ஆபிரகாம் பெலிஸ்தருடைய தேசத்தில் அநேகநாட்கள் தங்கியிருந்தான். BSB BSB: And Abraham resided in the land of the Philistines for a long time.
