1 ULB ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியா அதைக்கேட்டபோது, தன் ஆடைகளைக் கிழித்து, சணல்உடை அணிந்துகொண்டு, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குச் சென்று, BSB BSB: On hearing this report, King Hezekiah tore his clothes, put on sackcloth, and entered the house of the LORD.
2 ULB அரண்மனை விசாரிப்புக்காரனாகிய எலியாக்கீமையும், எழுத்தனாகிய செப்னாவையும், ஆசாரியர்களின் மூப்பர்களையும், ஆமோத்சின் மகனாகிய ஏசாயா என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசியினிடத்திற்கு சணல்உடை அணிந்தவர்களாக அனுப்பினான். BSB BSB: And he sent Eliakim the palace administrator, Shebna the scribe, and the leading priests, all wearing sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz
3 ULB இவர்கள் அவனை நோக்கி: இந்த நாள் நெருக்கமும், துக்கமும், நிந்தையும் அநுபவிக்கிற நாள்; பிள்ளைப்பேறு நோக்கியிருக்கிறது; பெறவோ பெலன் இல்லை. BSB BSB: Perhaps the LORD your God will hear the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to defy the living God, and He will rebuke him for the words that the LORD your God has heard. Therefore lift up a prayer for the remnant that still survives.”
5 ULB இவ்விதமாக எசேக்கியா ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரர் ஏசாயாவினிடத்தில் வந்து சொன்னார்கள். BSB BSB: So the servants of King Hezekiah went to Isaiah,
6 ULB அப்பொழுது ஏசாயா அவர்களை நோக்கி: அசீரியா ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரர் என்னை நிந்தித்ததும் நீர் கேட்டதுமான வார்த்தைகளினாலே பயப்படாதேயும். BSB BSB: who replied, “Tell your master that this is what the LORD says: ‘Do not be afraid of the words you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me.

BSB BSB: “Give this message to Hezekiah king of Judah: ‘Do not let your God, in whom you trust, deceive you by saying that Jerusalem will not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
11 ULB இதோ, அசீரியா ராஜாக்கள் சகல தேசங்களையும் அழித்த செய்தியை நீ கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறாய்; நீ தப்புவாயோ? BSB BSB: Surely you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the other countries, devoting them to destruction. Will you then be spared?
12 ULB என் முன்னோர்கள் அழித்துவிட்ட கோசானையும், ஆரானையும், ரேத்சேப்பையும், தெலாசாரிலிருந்த ஏதேனின் மக்களையும் அவர்களுடைய தெய்வங்கள் தப்புவித்ததுண்டோ? BSB BSB: Did the gods of the nations destroyed by my fathers rescue those nations—the gods of Gozan, Haran, and Rezeph, and of the people of Eden in Telassar?
13 ULB ஆமாத்தின் ராஜாவும், அர்பாத்தின் ராஜாவும், செப்பர்வாயீம் ஏனா ஈவா பட்டணங்களின் ராஜாவும் எங்கே என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றார். BSB BSB: Where are the kings of Hamath, Arpad, Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivvah?’”
14 ULB எசேக்கியா பிரதிநிதிகளின் கையிலிருந்த கடிதத்தை வாங்கி வாசித்தான்; பின்பு எசேக்கியா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குப் போய் அதைக் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக விரித்து, BSB BSB: So Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers, read it, and went up to the house of the LORD and spread it out before the LORD.

BSB BSB: Incline Your ear, O LORD, and hear; open Your eyes, O LORD, and see. Listen to all the words that Sennacherib has sent to defy the living God.

BSB BSB: They have cast their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods, but only wood and stone—the work of human hands.

BSB BSB: And now, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, O LORD, are God.”
21 ULB அப்பொழுது ஆமோத்சின் மகனாகிய ஏசாயா, எசேக்கியாவுக்குச் சொல்லியனுப்பினது: இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறது என்னவென்றால், அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய சனகெரிபினிமித்தம் நீ என்னை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்செய்தாயே. BSB BSB: Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah: “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Because you have prayed to Me concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria,
22 ULB அவனைக்குறித்துக் கர்த்தர் சொல்கிற வசனமாவது: மகளாகிய சீயோன் என்னும் கன்னிப்பெண் உன்னை இகழ்ந்து, உன்னைப் பரிகாசம்செய்கிறாள்; மகளாகிய எருசலேம் உன் பின்னாலே தலையைத் துலுக்குகிறாள். BSB BSB: this is the word that the LORD has spoken against him: ‘The Virgin Daughter of Zion despises you and mocks you; the Daughter of Jerusalem shakes her head behind you.
23 ULB யாரை நிந்தித்துத் தூஷித்தாய்? யாருக்கு விரோதமாக உன் சத்தத்தை உயர்த்தினாய்? நீ இஸ்ரவேலின் பரிசுத்தருக்கு விரோதமாக அல்லவோ உன் கண்களை மேட்டிமையாக ஏறெடுத்தாய். BSB BSB: Whom have you taunted and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!
24 ULB உன் ஊழியக்காரர்களைக்கொண்டு நீ ஆண்டவரை நிந்தித்து: என் இரதங்களின் திரளினாலே நான் மலைகளின் உச்சிகளுக்கும் லீபனோனின் சிகரங்களுக்கும் வந்து ஏறினேன்; அதின் உயரமான கேதுருமரங்களையும், விலையுயர்ந்த தேவதாரு மரங்களையும் நான் வெட்டி, உயர்ந்த அதின் கடைசி எல்லைவரை, அதின் செழுமையான காடுவரை வருவேன் என்றும், BSB BSB: Through your servants you have taunted the Lord, and you have said: “With my many chariots I have ascended to the heights of the mountains, to the remote peaks of Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars, the finest of its cypresses. I have reached its farthest heights, the densest of its forests.
25 ULB நான் கிணறு வெட்டித் தண்ணீர் குடித்தேன்; என் உள்ளங்காலினால் பாதுகாப்பான இடங்களின் அகழிகளையெல்லாம் வறளவும்செய்தேன் என்றும் சொன்னாய். BSB BSB: I have dug wells and drunk foreign waters. With the soles of my feet I have dried up all the streams of Egypt.”
26 ULB நான் வெகுகாலத்திற்குமுன் அதை நியமித்து, ஆரம்பநாட்கள்முதல் அதைத் திட்டம்செய்தேன் என்பதை நீ கேட்டதில்லையோ? இப்பொழுது நீ பாதுகாப்பான பட்டணங்களைப் பாழான மண்மேடுகளாக்கும்படி நானே அதைச் சம்பவிக்கச்செய்தேன். BSB BSB: Have you not heard? Long ago I ordained it; in days of old I planned it. Now I have brought it to pass, that you should crush fortified cities into piles of rubble.

BSB BSB: Therefore their inhabitants, devoid of power, are dismayed and ashamed. They are like plants in the field, tender green shoots, grass on the rooftops, scorched before it is grown.
28 ULB உன் உட்காருதலையும், உன் போக்கையும், உன் வரவையும், நீ எனக்கு விரோதமாகக் கொந்தளிக்கிறதையும் அறிவேன். BSB BSB: But I know your sitting down, your going out and coming in, and your raging against Me.

BSB BSB: Because your rage and arrogance against Me have reached My ears, I will put My hook in your nose and My bit in your mouth; I will send you back the way you came.’

BSB BSB: And this will be a sign to you, O Hezekiah: This year you will eat what grows on its own, and in the second year what springs from the same. But in the third year you will sow and reap; you will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
31 ULB யூதா வம்சத்தாரில் தப்பி மீந்திருக்கிறவர்கள் மறுபடியும் கீழே வேர்பற்றி மேலே கனிகொடுப்பார்கள். BSB BSB: And the surviving remnant of the house of Judah will again take root below and bear fruit above.
32 ULB மீதியாயிருக்கிறவர்கள் எருசலேமிலும், தப்பினவர்கள் சீயோன் மலையிலுமிருந்து புறப்படுவார்கள்; சேனைகளுடைய கர்த்தரின் வைராக்கியம் இதைச் செய்யும். BSB BSB: For a remnant will go forth from Jerusalem, and survivors from Mount Zion. The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will accomplish this.

BSB BSB: So this is what the LORD says about the king of Assyria: ‘He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow into it. He will not come before it with a shield or build up a siege ramp against it.

36 ULB அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் புறப்பட்டு, அசீரியரின் முகாமில் ஒரு இலட்சத்து எண்பத்தையாயிரம் பேரை அழித்தான்; அதிகாலமே எழுந்திருக்கும்போது, இதோ, அவர்களெல்லோரும் சடலங்களாகக் கிடந்தார்கள். BSB BSB: Then the angel of the LORD went out and struck down 185,000 men in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people got up the next morning, there were all the dead bodies!

38 ULB அவன் தன் தேவனாகிய நிஸ்ரோகின் கோவிலிலே பணிந்துகொள்ளுகிறபோது, அவன் மகன்களாகிய அத்ரமலேக்கும் சரேத்சேரும் அவனைப் பட்டயத்தினால் வெட்டிப்போட்டு, அரராத் தேசத்திற்குத் தப்பி ஓடிப்போனார்கள்; அவன் மகனாகிய எசரத்தோன் அவன் பட்டத்திற்கு வந்து ஆட்சிசெய்தான். BSB BSB: One day, while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer put him to the sword and escaped to the land of Ararat. And his son Esar-haddon reigned in his place.
