1 ULB யோசியாவின் மகனாகிய யோயாக்கீம் என்னும் யூதா ராஜாவின் நாலாம் வருடத்தில் கர்த்தரால் எரேமியாவுக்கு உண்டான வார்த்தை என்னவென்றால்: BSB BSB: In the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD:
2 ULB நீ ஒரு புத்தகச்சுருளை எடுத்து, யோசியாவின் நாட்களில் நான் உன்னுடனே பேசின நாள் முதற்கொண்டு இந்நாள்வரை இஸ்ரவேலைக்குறித்தும், யூதாவைக்குறித்தும், எல்லா மக்களைக்குறித்தும் உன்னுடன் சொன்ன எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் அதில் எழுது. BSB BSB: “Take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah, and all the nations, from the day I first spoke to you during the reign of Josiah until today.
3 ULB யூதாவின் மக்கள், அவரவர் தங்கள் பொல்லாத வழியைவிட்டுத் திரும்புவதற்காகவும், தங்கள் அக்கிரமத்தையும் தங்கள் பாவத்தையும் நான் மன்னிப்பதற்காகவும், தங்களுக்கு நான் செய்ய நினைத்திருக்கிற தீங்குகளைக்குறித்து ஒருவேளை அவர்கள் கேட்பார்கள் என்றார். BSB BSB: Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about all the calamity I plan to bring upon them, each of them will turn from his wicked way. Then I will forgive their iniquity and their sin.”

6 ULB நீ உள்ளே நுழைந்து, என் வாய் சொல்ல நீ எழுதின சுருளிலுள்ள கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் உபவாச நாளில் மக்களுடைய காதுகள் கேட்க வாசிப்பதுமின்றி, தங்கள் பட்டணங்களிலிருந்துவருகிற எல்லா யூதா கோத்திரத்தாரும் கேட்குமளவுக்கு அவைகளை வாசிப்பாயாக. BSB BSB: so you are to go to the house of the LORD on a day of fasting, and in the hearing of the people you are to read the words of the LORD from the scroll you have written at my dictation. Read them in the hearing of all the people of Judah who are coming from their cities.
7 ULB ஒருவேளை அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய முகத்திற்கு முன்பாகப் பணிந்து விண்ணப்பம்செய்து, அவரவர் தங்கள் பொல்லாத வழியை விட்டுத் திரும்புவார்கள்; கர்த்தர் இந்த மக்களுக்கு விரோதமாகச் சொல்லியிருக்கிற கோபமும் உக்கிரமும் பெரியது என்று சொன்னான். BSB BSB: Perhaps they will bring their petition before the LORD, and each one will turn from his wicked way; for great are the anger and fury that the LORD has pronounced against this people.”
8 ULB அப்படியே நேரியாவின் மகனாகிய பாருக்கு அந்தப் புத்தகத்தில், கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தைகளை வாசிப்பதற்கு எரேமியா தீர்க்கதரிசி தனக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியெல்லாம் செய்தான். BSB BSB: So Baruch son of Neriah did everything that Jeremiah the prophet had commanded him. In the house of the LORD he read the words of the LORD from the scroll.
9 ULB யோசியாவின் மகனாகிய யோயாக்கீம் என்னும் யூதா ராஜாவின் ஐந்தாம் வருடத்து ஒன்பதாம் மாதத்தில், எருசலேமிலிருக்கிற எல்லா மக்களுக்கும், யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களிலிருந்து எருசலேமுக்கு வருகிற எல்லா மக்களுக்கும், கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக உபவாசம் செய்யவேண்டுமென்று சொல்லப்பட்டது. BSB BSB: Now in the ninth month of the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, a fast before the LORD was proclaimed to all the people of Jerusalem and all who had come there from the cities of Judah.
11 ULB சாப்பானுடைய மகனாகிய கெமரியாவின் மகன் மிகாயா அந்தப் புத்தகத்திலுள்ள கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் வாசிக்கக் கேட்டபோது, BSB BSB: When Micaiah son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, heard all the words of the LORD from the scroll,
12 ULB அவன் ராஜாவின் அரண்மனைக்குப்போய், காரியதரிசியின் அறையில் நுழைந்தான்; இதோ, அங்கே எல்லாப் பிரபுக்களும் காரியதரிசியாகிய எலிஷாமாவும் செமாயாவின் மகனாகிய தெலாயாவும், அக்போரின் மகனாகிய எல்நாத்தானும், சாப்பானின் மகனாகிய கெமரியாவும், அனனியாவின் மகனாகிய சிதேக்கியாவும், மற்ற எல்லாப் பிரபுக்களும் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தார்கள். BSB BSB: he went down to the scribe’s chamber in the king’s palace, where all the officials were sitting: Elishama the scribe, Delaiah son of Shemaiah, Elnathan son of Achbor, Gemariah son of Shaphan, Zedekiah son of Hananiah, and all the other officials.
13 ULB பாருக்கு மக்கள் கேட்கும் அளவுக்கு புத்தகத்திலுள்ளவைகளை வாசிக்கும்போது, தான் கேட்ட எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் மிகாயா அவர்களுக்குத் தெரிவித்தான். BSB BSB: And Micaiah reported to them all the words he had heard Baruch read from the scroll in the hearing of the people.
14 ULB அப்பொழுது எல்லாப் பிரபுக்களும் கூஷியின் மகனாகிய செலேமியாவின் மகனான நெத்தானியாவினுடைய மகனாயிருக்கிற யெகுதியைப் பாருக்கிடத்தில் அனுப்பி, மக்கள் கேட்க நீ வாசித்துக்கொண்டிந்த சுருளை உன் கையில் எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவா என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னார்கள்; ஆகையால், நேரியாவின் மகனாகிய பாருக்கு சுருளைத் தன் கையில் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, அவர்களிடத்திற்கு வந்தான். BSB BSB: Then all the officials sent word to Baruch through Jehudi son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, saying, “Bring the scroll that you read in the hearing of the people, and come here.” So Baruch son of Neriah took the scroll and went to them.
15 ULB அவர்கள் அவனை நோக்கி: நீ உட்கார்ந்துகொண்டு, நாங்கள் கேட்க வாசியென்றார்கள்; அவர்கள் கேட்க வாசித்தான். BSB BSB: “Please sit down,” they said, “and read it in our hearing.” So Baruch read it in their hearing.

BSB BSB: When they had heard all these words, they turned to one another in fear and said to Baruch, “Surely we must report all these words to the king.”
17 ULB அவன் வாய் சொல்ல, நீ இந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் எவ்விதமாக எழுதினாய் அதை எங்களுக்குச் சொல் என்று பாருக்கைக் கேட்டார்கள். BSB BSB: “Tell us now,” they asked Baruch, “how did you write all these words? Was it at Jeremiah’s dictation?”
18 ULB அதற்குப் பாருக்கு: அவர் தமது வாயினால் இந்த எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் உச்சரித்து, என்னுடனே சொன்னார், நான் மையினால் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதினேன் என்றான். BSB BSB: “It was at his dictation,” Baruch replied. “He recited all these words to me and I wrote them in ink on the scroll.”

20 ULB சுருளை காரியதரிசியாகிய எலிஷாமாவின் அறையில் வைத்து, ராஜாவினிடத்திற்கு அரண்மனையில் போய், ராஜாவின் காதுகளுக்கு இந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் சொன்னார்கள். BSB BSB: So the officials went to the king in the courtyard. And having stored the scroll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, they reported everything to the king.
21 ULB அப்பொழுது ராஜா அந்தச் சுருளை எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவர யெகுதியை அனுப்பினான்; யெகுதி அதைக் காரியதரிசியாகிய எலிஷாமாவின் அறையிலிருந்து எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து, ராஜா கேட்கவும், ராஜாவினிடத்தில் நின்ற எல்லாப் பிரபுக்களும் கேட்கவும் வாசித்தான். BSB BSB: Then the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, and he took it from the chamber of Elishama the scribe. And Jehudi read it in the hearing of the king and all the officials who were standing beside him.
22 ULB ஒன்பதாம் மாதத்தில் ராஜா, குளிர்காலத்திற்குத் தங்கும் வீட்டில் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தான்; அவனுக்கு முன்பாக அடுப்பு மூட்டியிருந்தது. BSB BSB: Since it was the ninth month, the king was sitting in his winter quarters with a fire burning before him.
23 ULB யெகுதி மூன்று நான்கு பத்திகளை வாசித்த பின்பு, ராஜா ஒரு சூரிக்கத்தியினால் அதை அறுத்து, சுருள் எல்லாவற்றையும் நெருப்பில் வெந்துபோக, அடுப்பிலிருந்த நெருப்பில் எறிந்துவிட்டான். BSB BSB: And as soon as Jehudi had read three or four columns, Jehoiakim would cut them off with a scribe’s knife and throw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll had been consumed by the fire.
24 ULB ராஜாவாயினும், அந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் கேட்ட அவனுடைய எந்த ஊழியக்காரனும் பயப்படவுமில்லை, தங்கள் உடைகளைக் கிழித்துக்கொள்ளவுமில்லை. BSB BSB: Yet in hearing all these words, the king and his servants did not become frightened or tear their garments.
25 ULB எல்நாத்தானும், தெலாயாவும், கெமரியாவுமோ: அந்தச் சுருளைச் சுட்டெரிக்கவேண்டாம் என்று ராஜாவினிடத்தில் விண்ணப்பம் செய்தார்கள்; ஆனாலும், அவன் அவர்களுடைய சொல்லைக் கேட்காமல், BSB BSB: Even though Elnathan, Delaiah, and Gemariah urged the king not to burn the scroll, he would not listen to them.
26 ULB பாருக்கு என்னும் காரியதரிசியையும் எரேமியா தீர்க்கதரிசியையும் பிடிப்பதற்கு, ராஜா அம்மெலேகின் மகனாகிய யெரமெயேலுக்கும், அஸ்ரியேலின் மகனாகிய செராயாவுக்கும், அப்தெயேலின் மகனாகிய செலேமியாவுக்கும் கட்டளை கொடுத்தான்; ஆனாலும் கர்த்தர் அவர்களை மறைத்தார். BSB BSB: Instead, the king commanded Jerahmeel, a son of the king, as well as Seraiah son of Azriel and Shelemiah son of Abdeel, to seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet. But the LORD had hidden them.
28 ULB நீ திரும்ப வேறொரு சுருளை எடுத்து, யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீம் சுட்டெரித்த முதலாம் சுருளிலிருந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் அதில் எழுது என்றார். BSB BSB: “Take another scroll and rewrite on it the very words that were on the original scroll, which Jehoiakim king of Judah has burned.
29 ULB மேலும் நீ யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீமை நோக்கி: பாபிலோன் ராஜா கண்டிப்பாக வருவான் என்பதையும், அவன் இந்த தேசத்தை அழித்து இதிலிருந்து மனிதரையும் மிருகங்களையும் அழிப்பான் என்பதையும், நீ அதில் எழுதியிருக்கிறதென்று சொல்லி, அந்தச் சுருளை நீ சுட்டெரித்தாயே என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார். BSB BSB: You are to proclaim concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah that this is what the LORD says: You have burned the scroll and said, ‘Why have you written on it that the king of Babylon would surely come and destroy this land and deprive it of man and beast?’
30 ULB ஆகையால் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீமைக் குறித்து: தாவீதின் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் உட்காருவதற்கு வம்சத்தில் ஒருவனும் இருக்கமாட்டான்; அவனுடைய சடலங்களோவென்றால், பகலின் வெப்பத்திற்கும் இரவின் குளிருக்கும் எறியப்பட்டுக்கிடக்கும். BSB BSB: Therefore this is what the LORD says about Jehoiakim king of Judah: He will have no one to sit on David’s throne, and his body will be thrown out and exposed to heat by day and frost by night.
31 ULB நான் அவனிடத்திலும், அவன் சந்ததியினிடத்திலும், அவன் பிரபுக்களினிடத்திலும் அவர்கள் அக்கிரமத்தை விசாரித்து, அவன்மேலும் எருசலேமின் குடிமக்கள்மேலும், யூதா மனிதர்மேலும், நான் அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னதும், அவர்கள் கேளாமற்போனதுமான தீங்குகளையெல்லாம் வரச்செய்வேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார். BSB BSB: I will punish him and his descendants and servants for their iniquity. I will bring on them, on the residents of Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah, all the calamity about which I warned them but they did not listen.”
32 ULB அப்பொழுது எரேமியா வேறொரு சுருளை எடுத்து, அதை நேரியாவின் மகனாகிய பாருக்கு என்னும் காரியதரிசியினிடத்தில் கொடுத்தான்; அவன் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீம் நெருப்பால் சுட்டெரித்த புத்தகத்தின் வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம், அதில் எரேமியாவின் வாய் சொல்ல எழுதினான்; இன்னும் அவைகளைப்போல அநேகம் வார்த்தைகளும் அவைகளுடன் சேர்க்கப்பட்டது. BSB BSB: Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to the scribe Baruch son of Neriah, and at Jeremiah’s dictation he wrote on it all the words of the scroll that Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire. And many similar words were added to them.
