1உண்மையாகவே உண்மையாகவே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்; ஆட்டுத்தொழுவத்திற்குள் வாசல்வழியாக நுழையாமல், வேறுவழியாக ஏறுகிறவன் திருடனும், கொள்ளைக்காரனுமாக இருக்கிறான்.“Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever does not enter the sheepfold by the gate, but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber.

2வாசல்வழியாக நுழைகிறவனோ ஆடுகளின் மேய்ப்பனாக இருக்கிறான்.But the one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.

3வாசலைக் காக்கிறவன் அவனுக்குத் திறக்கிறான்; ஆடுகளும் அவன் சத்தத்திற்குச் செவிகொடுக்கிறது. அவன் தன்னுடைய ஆடுகளைப் பெயர் சொல்லிக் அழைத்து, அவைகளை வெளியே நடத்திக்கொண்டுபோகிறான்.The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen for his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

4அவன் தன்னுடைய ஆடுகளை வெளியே விட்டபின்பு, அவைகளுக்கு முன்பாக நடந்துபோகிறான், ஆடுகள் அவன் சத்தத்தை அறிந்திருக்கிறதினால் அவனுக்குப் பின்னே செல்லுகிறது.When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.

5தெரியாதவர்களுடைய சத்தத்தை அறியாதபடியினால் அவைகள் தெரியாதவனுக்குப் பின்னே செல்லாமல், அவனைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போகும் என்றார்.But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will flee from him because they do not recognize his voice.”

6இந்த உவமையை இயேசு அவர்களிடம் சொன்னார்; அவர்களோ அவர் சொன்னவைகளின் கருத்தை அறியவில்லை.Jesus spoke to them using this illustration, but they did not understand what He was telling them.

7ஆதலால் இயேசு மீண்டும் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நானே ஆடுகளுக்கு வாசல் என்று உண்மையாகவே உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.So He said to them again, “Truly, truly, I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.

8எனக்கு முன்பே வந்தவர்கள் எல்லோரும் திருடர்களும், கொள்ளைக்காரர்களுமாக இருக்கிறார்கள்; ஆடுகள் அவர்களுக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கவில்லை.All who came before Me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.

9நானே வாசல், என்வழியாக ஒருவன் உள்ளே பிரவேசித்தால், அவன் இரட்சிக்கப்படுவான், அவன் உள்ளும், வெளியும் சென்று, மேய்ச்சலைக் கண்டடைவான்.I am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture.

10திருடன், திருடவும், கொல்லவும், அழிக்கவும் வருகிறானே அன்றி வேறொன்றுக்கும் வரமாட்டான். நானோ அவைகளுக்கு ஜீவன் உண்டாயிருக்கவும், அது பரிபூரணப்படவும் வந்தேன்.The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.

11நானே நல்ல மேய்ப்பன்: நல்ல மேய்ப்பன் ஆடுகளுக்காகத் தன் ஜீவனைக் கொடுக்கிறான்.I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.

12மேய்ப்பனாக இல்லாதவனும், ஆடுகள் தனக்குச் சொந்தம் இல்லாதவனுமான கூலியாள் ஓநாய் வருகிறதைப் பார்த்து ஆடுகளைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போகிறான்; அப்பொழுது ஓநாய் ஆடுகளைப்பீறி, அவைகளைச் சிதறடிக்கும்.The hired hand is not the shepherd, and the sheep are not his own. When he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf pounces on them and scatters the flock.

13வேலையாள் கூலிக்காக வேலைசெய்கிறவன், ஆகவே, ஓடிப்போகிறான், ஆடுகளுக்காக அவன் கவலைப்படமாட்டான்.The man runs away because he is a hired servant and is unconcerned for the sheep.

14நானே நல்ல மேய்ப்பன்; பிதா என்னை அறிந்திருக்கிறதுபோலவும், நான் பிதாவை அறிந்திருக்கிறதுபோலவும்,I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me,

15நான் என்னுடையவைகளை அறிந்தும் என்னுடையவைகளால் அறியப்பட்டும் இருக்கிறேன்; ஆடுகளுக்காக என் ஜீவனையும் கொடுக்கிறேன்.just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep.

16இந்தத் தொழுவத்தில் உள்ளவைகள் அல்லாமல் வேறு ஆடுகளும் எனக்கு இருக்கிறது; அவைகளையும் நான் கொண்டுவரவேண்டும், அவைகள் என் சத்தத்திற்குச் செவிகொடுக்கும், அப்பொழுது ஒரே மந்தையும், ஒரே மேய்ப்பனுமாகும்.I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them in as well, and they will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock and one shepherd.

17நான் என் ஜீவனை மீண்டும் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு அதைக் கொடுக்கிறபடியினால் பிதா என்னில் அன்பாக இருக்கிறார்.The reason the Father loves Me is that I lay down My life in order to take it up again.

18ஒருவனும் அதை என்னிடத்தில் இருந்து எடுத்துக்கொள்ளமாட்டான்; நானே அதைக் கொடுக்கிறேன், அதைக் கொடுக்கவும் எனக்கு அதிகாரம் இருக்கிறது, அதை மீண்டும் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளவும் எனக்கு அதிகாரம் இருக்கிறது. இந்தக் கட்டளையை என் பிதாவினிடத்தில் பெற்றுக்கொண்டேன் என்றார்.No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from My Father.”

19இந்த வசனங்களினால் யூதர்களுக்குள்ளே மீண்டும் பிரிவினை உண்டானது.Again there was division among the Jews because of Jesus’ message.

20அவர்களில் அநேகர்: இவன் பிசாசு பிடித்தவன், பைத்தியக்காரன்; ஏன் இவனுக்குச் செவி கொடுக்கிறீர்கள் என்றார்கள்.Many of them said, “He is demon-possessed and insane. Why would you listen to Him?”

21வேறுசிலர்: இவைகள் பிசாசு பிடித்தவனுடைய வசனங்கள் இல்லை. குருடருடைய கண்களைப் பிசாசு திறக்கக்கூடுமா என்றார்கள்.But others replied, “These are not the words of a man possessed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”

22பின்பு எருசலேமிலே தேவாலயப் பிரதிஷ்டை பண்டிகை வந்தது; குளிர்காலமுமாக இருந்தது.At that time the Feast of Dedication took place in Jerusalem. It was winter,

23இயேசு தேவாலயத்தில் சாலொமோனுடைய மண்டபத்திலே நடந்துகொண்டிருந்தார்.and Jesus was walking in the temple courts in Solomon’s Colonnade.

24அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள் அவரை சூழ்ந்துகொண்டு: எவ்வளவு காலம்வரைக்கும் எங்களுடைய ஆத்துமாவிற்குச் சந்தேகம் உண்டாக்குகிறீர், நீர் கிறிஸ்துவானால் எங்களுக்குத் தெளிவாக சொல்லும் என்றார்கள்.So the Jews gathered around Him and demanded, “How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

25இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: அதை உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன், நீங்கள் விசுவாசிக்கவில்லை; என் பிதாவின் நாமத்தினாலே நான் செய்கிற செயல்களே என்னைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சிகொடுக்கிறது.“I already told you,” Jesus replied, “but you did not believe. The works I do in My Father’s name testify on My behalf.

26ஆனாலும், நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னபடியே, நீங்கள் என் மந்தையின் ஆடுகளாக இல்லாததினால் விசுவாசிக்காமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள்.But because you are not My sheep, you refuse to believe.

27என் ஆடுகள் என் சத்தத்திற்குச் செவிகொடுக்கிறது; நான் அவைகளை அறிந்திருக்கிறேன், அவைகள் எனக்குப்பின் செல்லுகிறது.My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.

28நான் அவைகளுக்கு நித்தியஜீவனைக் கொடுக்கிறேன்; அவைகள் ஒருபோதும் கெட்டுப்போவதில்லை, ஒருவனும் அவைகளை என் கையிலிருந்து பறித்துக்கொள்ளுவதும் இல்லை.I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand.

29அவைகளை எனக்குத் தந்த என் பிதா எல்லோரையும்விட பெரியவராக இருக்கிறார்; அவைகளை என் பிதாவின் கையிலிருந்து பறித்துக்கொள்ள ஒருவனாலும் கூடாது.My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

30நானும் பிதாவும் ஒன்றாக இருக்கிறோம் என்றார்.I and the Father are one.”

31அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள் மீண்டும் அவர்மேல் கல்லெறியும்படி, கற்க்களை எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள்.At this, the Jews again picked up stones to stone Him.

32இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நான் என் பிதாவினாலே அநேக நற்செயல்களை உங்களுக்குக் காட்டினேன், அவைகளில் எந்தச் செயலுக்காக என்மேல் கல்லெறிகிறீர்கள் என்றார்.But Jesus responded, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone Me?”

33யூதர்கள் அவருக்கு மறுமொழியாக: நற்செயலினால் நாங்கள் உன்மேல் கல்லெறிகிறதில்லை; நீ மனிதனாக இருக்க, உன்னை தேவன் என்று சொல்லி, இந்தவிதமாக தேவ அவமதிப்பு சொல்லுகிறதினால் உன்மேல் கல்லெறிகிறோம் என்றார்கள்.“We are not stoning You for any good work,” said the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because You, who are a man, make Yourself out to be God.”

34இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: தேவர்களாக இருக்கிறீர்கள் என்று நான் சொன்னேன் என்பதாக உங்களுடைய வேதத்தில் எழுதவில்லையா?Jesus replied, “Is it not written in your Law: ‘I have said you are gods’?

35தேவவசனத்தைப் பெற்றுக் கொண்டவர்களைத் தேவர்கள் என்று அவர் சொல்லியிருக்க, வேதவாக்கியமும் ஒழிந்துபோகாததாக இருக்க,If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and the Scripture cannot be broken—

36பிதாவினால் பரிசுத்தமாக்கப்பட்டும், உலகத்தில் அனுப்பப்பட்டும் இருக்கிற நான் என்னைத் தேவனுடைய குமாரன் என்று சொன்னதினாலே தேவ அவமதிப்பு சொன்னேன் என்று நீங்கள் சொல்லலாமா?then what about the One whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world? How then can you accuse Me of blasphemy for stating that I am the Son of God?

37என் பிதாவின் செயல்களை நான் செய்யாதிருந்தால், நீங்கள் என்னை விசுவாசிக்க வேண்டியதில்லை.If I am not doing the works of My Father, then do not believe Me.

38அவைகளை செய்தால், நீங்கள் என்னை விசுவாசியாமல் இருந்தாலும், பிதா என்னிலும் நான் அவரிலும் இருக்கிறதை நீங்கள் அறிந்து விசுவாசிக்கும்படி அந்தச் செயல்களை விசுவாசியுங்கள் என்றார்.But if I am doing them, even though you do not believe Me, believe the works themselves, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I am in the Father.”

39இதனால் அவர்கள் மீண்டும் அவரைப் பிடிக்கத் தேடினார்கள், அவரோ அவர்கள் கைக்குத் தப்பி,At this, they tried again to seize Him, but He escaped their grasp.

40யோர்தானுக்கு அக்கரையிலே முன்னே யோவான் ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்த இடத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போய், அங்கே தங்கினார்.Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had first been baptizing, and He stayed there.

41அநேகர் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: யோவான் ஒரு அற்புதத்தையும் செய்யவில்லை; ஆனாலும் இவரைக்குறித்து யோவான் சொன்னது எல்லாம் உண்மையாக இருக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.Many came to Him and said, “Although John never performed a sign, everything he said about this man was true.”

42அந்த இடத்தில் அநேகர் அவரிடத்தில் விசுவாசம் வைத்தார்கள்.And many in that place believed in Jesus.
