Leviticus 11 (ULB)

1கர்த்தர் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் நோக்கி:The LORD spoke again to Moses and Aaron, telling them,

10ஆனாலும், கடல்களும் ஆறுகளுமாகிய தண்ணீர்களில் நீந்துகிறதும் வாழ்கிறதுமான பிராணிகளில் சிறகும் செதிளும் இல்லாதவைகள் அனைத்தும் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருப்பதாக.But the following among all the teeming life and creatures in the water are detestable to you: everything in the seas or streams that does not have fins and scales.

11அவைகள் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருக்கக்கடவது; அவைகளின் மாம்சத்தை சாப்பிடாமலிருந்து, அவைகளின் உடல்களை அருவருப்பீர்களாக.They shall be an abomination to you; you must not eat their meat, and you must detest their carcasses.

13பறவைகளில் நீங்கள் சாப்பிடாமல் அருவருக்கவேண்டியவைகள் எவைகள் என்றால்: கழுகும், கருடனும், கடலுராஞ்சியும்,Additionally, you are to detest the following birds, and they must not be eaten because they are detestable: the eagle, the bearded vulture, the black vulture,

15சகலவித காகங்களும்,any kind of raven,

16தீக்குருவியும், கூகையும், செம்புகமும், சகலவித டேகையும்,the ostrich, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk,

17ஆந்தையும், நீர்க்காகமும், கோட்டானும்,the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,

18நாரையும், கூழக்கடாவும், குருகும்,the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey,

19கொக்கும், சகலவித ராஜாளியும், புழுக்கொத்தியும், வௌவாலும் ஆகிய இவைகளே.the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, and the bat.

20பறக்கிறவைகளில் நான்கு கால்களால் நடமாடுகிற ஊரும்பிராணிகள் அனைத்தும் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருப்பதாக.All flying insects that walk on all fours are detestable to you.

21ஆகிலும், பறக்கிறவைகளில் நான்கு கால்களால் நடமாடுகிற அனைத்திலும், நீங்கள் சாப்பிடத்தக்கது எதுவென்றால்: தரையிலே தத்துகிறதற்குக் கால்களுக்குமேல் தொடைகள் உண்டாயிருக்கிறவைகளிலே,However, you may eat the following kinds of flying insects that walk on all fours: those having jointed legs above their feet for hopping on the ground.

24அவைகளாலே தீட்டுப்படுவீர்கள்; அவைகளின் உடலைத் தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் மாலைவரைத் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.These creatures will make you unclean. Whoever touches their carcasses will be unclean until evening,

25அவைகளின் உடலைச் சுமந்தவன் எவனும் தன் உடைகளைத் துவைக்கக்கடவன்; அவன் மாலைவரைத் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.and whoever picks up one of their carcasses must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean until evening.

Whoever touches any of them will be unclean.

30உடும்பும், அழுங்கும், ஓணானும், பல்லியும், பச்சோந்தியும் ஆகிய இவைகளே.the gecko, the monitor lizard, the common lizard, the skink, and the chameleon.

31சகல ஊரும் பிராணிகளிலும் இவைகள் உங்களுக்குத் தீட்டாயிருக்கக்கடவது; அவைகளில் செத்ததைத் தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் மாலைவரைத் தீட்டுப்பட்டிருப்பான்.These animals are unclean for you among all the crawling creatures. Whoever touches them when they are dead shall be unclean until evening.

32அவைகளில் செத்தது, எதன்மேல் விழுந்தாலும் அது தீட்டுப்பட்டிருக்கும்; அது மரப்பாத்திரமானாலும், உடையானாலும், தோலானாலும், பையானாலும், வேலை செய்கிறதற்கேற்ற ஆயுதமானாலும் மாலைவரைத் தீட்டாயிருக்கும்; அது தண்ணீரில் போடப்படவேண்டும், அப்பொழுது சுத்தமாகும்.When one of them dies and falls on something, that article becomes unclean; any article of wood, clothing, leather, sackcloth, or any implement used for work must be rinsed with water and will remain unclean until evening; then it will be clean.

If it is an oven or cooking pot, it must be smashed; it is unclean and will remain unclean for you.

37மேற்சொல்லியவைகளின் உடலில் யாதொன்று விதைத்தானியத்தின்மேல் விழுந்தால், அது தீட்டுப்படாது.If a carcass falls on any seed for sowing, the seed is clean;

41தரையில் ஊருகிற பிராணிகளெல்லாம் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருக்கக்கடவது; அவை சாப்பிடப்படக்கூடாது.Every creature that moves along the ground is detestable; it must not be eaten.

42தரையில் ஊருகிற சகல பிராணிகளிலும், வயிற்றினால் நகருகிறவைகளையும், நான்கு கால்களால் நடமாடுகிறவைகளையும் அநேகம் கால்களுள்ளவைகளையும் சாப்பிடாதிருப்பீர்களாக; அவைகள் அருவருப்பானவைகள்.Do not eat any creature that moves along the ground, whether it crawls on its belly or walks on four or more feet; for such creatures are detestable.

43ஊருகிற எந்தப் பிராணிகளாலும் உங்களை அருவருப்பாக்கிக் கொள்ளாமலும், அவைகளால் தீட்டுப்படாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; அவைகளாலே நீங்கள் தீட்டுப்படுவீர்கள்.Do not defile yourselves by any crawling creature; do not become unclean or defiled by them.

44நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர், நான் பரிசுத்தர்; ஆகையால், தரையில் ஊருகிற எந்தப் பிராணிகளிலும் உங்களைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தாமல், உங்களைப் பரிசுத்தமாக்கிக்கொண்டு, பரிசுத்தராக இருப்பீர்களாக.For I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy, because I am holy. You must not defile yourselves by any creature that crawls along the ground.
