6నా విషయంలో అభ్యంతరపడని వాడు ధన్యుడు.”Blessed is the one who does not fall away on account of Me.”

A reed swaying in the wind?

17“ ‘మేము మీ కోసం పిల్లనగ్రోవి వాయించాం, మీరు నాట్యం చేయలేదు; మేము విషాద గీతం పాడాం, మీరు దుఃఖపడలేదు’‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’

18యోహాను తినలేదు త్రాగలేదు అయినా వారు, ‘వీడు దయ్యం పట్టినవాడు’ అంటున్నారు.For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’

19మనుష్యకుమారుడు తింటున్నారు త్రాగుతున్నారు కాబట్టి వారు, ‘ఇదిగో, తిండిబోతు, త్రాగుబోతు, పన్ను వసూలు చేసేవారికి, పాపులకు స్నేహితుడు’ అంటున్నారు. కాని జ్ఞానం సరియైనదని దాని పనులను బట్టే నిరూపించబడుతుంది.”The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at this glutton and drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is vindicated by her actions.”

20యేసు ఏ పట్టణాల్లో ఎక్కువ అద్భుతాలను చేశాడో ఆ పట్టణాలు పశ్చాత్తాపపడలేదని వాటిని నిందించడం మొదలుపెట్టారు.Then Jesus began to denounce the cities in which most of His miracles had been performed, because they did not repent.

21“కొరజీనూ నీకు శ్రమ! బేత్సయిదా నీకు శ్రమ! ఎందుకంటే మీలో జరిగిన అద్భుతాలు తూరు, సీదోను పట్టణాల్లో జరిగి ఉంటే, ఆ ప్రజలు చాలా కాలం క్రిందటే గోనెపట్ట కట్టుకుని బూడిదలో కూర్చుని పశ్చాత్తాపపడి ఉండేవారు.“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

22అయితే తీర్పు దినాన మీ మీదికి వచ్చే గతికంటే తూరు సీదోను పట్టణాల గతి భరించ గలదిగా ఉంటుంది.But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.

23ఓ కపెర్నహూమా, నీవు ఆకాశానికి ఎత్తబడతావా? లేదు, నీవు పాతాళంలోనికి దిగిపోతావు. నీలో జరిగిన అద్భుతాలు సొదొమలో జరిగి ఉంటే అది ఈనాటి వరకు నిలిచి ఉండేది.And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to heaven? No, you will be brought down to Hades! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.

24అయితే తీర్పు దినాన మీ మీదికి వచ్చే గతికంటే సొదొమ దేశపు గతి భరించ గలదిగా ఉంటుందని నేను మీతో చెప్తున్నాను.”But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”

25ఆ సమయంలో యేసు ఇలా అన్నారు, “తండ్రీ, భూమి ఆకాశాలకు ప్రభువా, నీవు ఈ సంగతులను జ్ఞానులకు, తెలివైనవారికి మరుగుచేసి, చిన్న పిల్లలకు బయలుపరిచావు కాబట్టి నేను నిన్ను స్తుతిస్తున్నాను.At that time Jesus declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.

26అవును తండ్రీ, ఈ విధంగా చేయడం నీకు సంతోషము.Yes, Father, for this was well-pleasing in Your sight.

27“నా తండ్రి నాకు సమస్తం అప్పగించారు. కుమారుడు ఎవరో తండ్రికి తప్ప ఎవరికి తెలియదు; అలాగే తండ్రి ఎవరో కుమారునికి, కుమారుడు ఎవరికి తెలియచేయాలని అనుకున్నారో వారికి తప్ప మరి ఎవరికి తెలియదు.All things have been entrusted to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.

28“భారం మోస్తూ అలసిపోయిన వారలారా! మీరందరు నా దగ్గరకు రండి, నేను మీకు విశ్రాంతిని ఇస్తాను.Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

29నేను సౌమ్యుడను, వినయ హృదయం గలవాడను కాబట్టి నా కాడి మీమీద ఎత్తుకుని నా దగ్గర నేర్చుకోండి, అప్పుడు మీ ఆత్మలకు విశ్రాంతి దొరుకుతుంది.Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30ఎందుకంటే, నా కాడి సుళువుగా మోయదగినది, నేను ఇచ్చే నా భారం తేలికైనది.”For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
