2 ULB బంగారు ఉంగరాలు పెట్టుకొని, ఖరీదైన బట్టలు వేసుకొన్న వాడొకడు, మాసిన బట్టలు వేసుకొన్న పేదవాడొకడు, వీరిద్దరూ మీ సమావేశానికి వచ్చారనుకోండి. BSB BSB: Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in.

BSB BSB: Listen, my beloved brothers: Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom He promised those who love Him?
6 ULB మీరు పేదవాణ్ణి అవమానానికి గురి చేశారు. మిమ్మల్ని అణగదొక్కేదీ, చట్ట సభలకు ఈడ్చేదీ ధనవంతులు కాదా? BSB BSB: But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who oppress you and drag you into court?
7 ULB మిమ్మల్ని పిలిచిన వాడి మంచి పేరు ఈ ధనికుల వల్లనే కదా దూషణకు గురౌతున్నది? BSB BSB: Are they not the ones who blaspheme the noble name by which you have been called?
8 ULB “నిన్ను ప్రేమించుకున్నట్టే, నీ పొరుగువాణ్ణి కూడా ప్రేమించు,” అని లేఖనాల్లో రాసి ఉన్న దైవ రాజాజ్ఞ పాటిస్తే, మీ ప్రవర్తన సరిగా ఉన్నట్టే. BSB BSB: If you really fulfill the royal law stated in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.
9 ULB కాని మీరు కొందరి విషయంలో పక్షపాతంగా ఉంటే మీరు పాపం చేస్తున్నట్టే. మీరు ధర్మశాస్త్రాన్ని ఉల్లంఘించినట్టు ధర్మశాస్త్రమే నిర్ధారిస్తున్నది. BSB BSB: But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
10 ULB ఎవరైనా ధర్మశాస్త్రం అంతా పాటించి, ఏ ఒక్క ఆజ్ఞ విషయంలో అయినా తడబడితే, ఆజ్ఞలన్నిటినీ మీరిన అపరాధి అవుతాడు. BSB BSB: Whoever keeps the whole law but stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
11 ULB “వ్యభిచారం చెయ్యవద్దు” అని చెప్పిన దేవుడు, “హత్య చెయ్యవద్దు” అని కూడా చెప్పాడు. నువ్వు వ్యభిచారం చేయకుండా హత్య చేస్తే, దేవుని ధర్మశాస్త్రాన్ని మీరినట్టే. BSB BSB: For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.
12 ULB నిజమైన స్వాతంత్రం ఇచ్చే ధర్మశాస్త్రం విషయంలో తీర్పుకు గురయ్యే వారికి తగినట్టుగా మాట్లాడండి. అదే విధంగా ప్రవర్తించండి. BSB BSB: Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom.
13 ULB కనికరం చూపించని వాడికి కనికరం లేని తీర్పు వస్తుంది. కనికరం తీర్పును జయిస్తుంది. BSB BSB: For judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
15 ULB ఒక సోదరునికి గాని, సోదరికి గాని కట్టుకోడానికి బట్టలు, ఆ రోజు తినడానికి భోజనం అవసరం అయితే, BSB BSB: Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.
16 ULB మీలో ఒకడు అలాటి వారితో, “శాంతిగా వెళ్ళు, వెచ్చగా ఉండు, తృప్తిగా తిను” అని చెబితే ఏం ప్రయోజనం? BSB BSB: If one of you tells him, “Go in peace; stay warm and well fed,” but does not provide for his physical needs, what good is that?
17 ULB అదే విధంగా, క్రియలు లేకుండా విశ్వాసం ఒక్కటే ఉంటే, అదీ చచ్చినదే. BSB BSB: So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead.
18 ULB అయినా ఒకడు, “నీకు విశ్వాసం ఉంది, నాకు క్రియలు ఉన్నాయి” అనవచ్చు. క్రియలు లేని నీ విశ్వాసం నాకు చూపించు. అప్పుడు నేను నా క్రియల ద్వారా నా విశ్వాసం చూపిస్తాను. BSB BSB: But someone will say, “You have faith and I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.
20 ULB బుద్ధిలేనివాడా! క్రియలు లేని విశ్వాసం వల్ల ప్రయోజనం లేదు అని నీకు తెలుసుకోవాలని లేదా? BSB BSB: O foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is worthless?
21 ULB మన పూర్వికుడు అబ్రాహాము తన కుమారుడు ఇస్సాకును బలిపీఠం మీద అర్పణ చేసినప్పుడు, క్రియల వల్ల నీతిమంతుడుగా తీర్పు పొందలేదా? BSB BSB: Was not our father Abraham justified by what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
22 ULB అతని విశ్వాసం క్రియలతో కలిసి పని చేసింది. అతని క్రియల ద్వారా విశ్వాసం పరిపూర్ణమైనదని గ్రహిస్తున్నావు గదా. BSB BSB: You see that his faith was working with his actions, and his faith was perfected by what he did.
23 ULB “అబ్రాహాము దేవుణ్ణి నమ్మాడు, అందుకు దేవుడు అతణ్ణి నీతిమంతుడుగా ఎంచాడు” అని లేఖనాల్లో ఉన్న విషయం నెరవేరింది. అంతేకాక అబ్రాహాముకు దేవుని స్నేహితుడు అని పేరు వచ్చింది. BSB BSB: And the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God.
25 ULB అలానే వేశ్య రాహాబు కూడా వార్తాహరులను ఆహ్వానించి వేరొక మార్గంలో వారిని పంపివేయడాన్ని బట్టి తన క్రియల మూలంగా ఆమె నీతిమంతురాలుగా ఎంచ బడింది గదా? BSB BSB: In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute justified by her actions when she welcomed the spies and sent them off on another route?
26 ULB ప్రాణం లేని శరీరం ఎలా మృతమో, అలాగే క్రియలు లేని విశ్వాసం కూడా మృతమే. BSB BSB: As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
