1 ULB నికోదేము అనే పేరు గల ఒక పరిసయ్యుడు ఉన్నాడు. అతడు యూదుల చట్ట సభలో సభ్యుడు. BSB BSB: Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews.
2 ULB అతడు రాత్రి వేళ యేసు దగ్గరికి వచ్చాడు. ఆయనతో, “బోధకా, నువ్వు దేవుని దగ్గర నుండి వచ్చిన బోధకుడివి అని మాకు తెలుసు. దేవుడు తోడు లేకపోతే ఎవరూ నువ్వు చేసే అద్భుతాలు చేయలేరని మాకు తెలుసు” అన్నాడు. BSB BSB: He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs You are doing if God were not with him.”
3 ULB దానికి జవాబుగా యేసు అతనితో, “ఎవరైనా కొత్తగా జన్మించకపోతే దేవుని రాజ్యాన్ని చూడలేరని కచ్చితంగా చెబుతున్నాను” అన్నాడు. BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”
4 ULB అందుకు నికోదేము, “మనిషి ముసలివాడయ్యాక మళ్ళీ ఎలా పుడతాడు? రెండవ సారి పుట్టడానికి మళ్ళీ తల్లి గర్భంలో ప్రవేశించలేడు గదా! అలా ప్రవేశిస్తాడా?” అని ఆయనను అడిగాడు. BSB BSB: “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Can he enter his mother’s womb a second time to be born?”
5 ULB అప్పుడు యేసు ఇలా జవాబిచ్చాడు, “కచ్చితంగా చెబుతున్నాను. నీళ్ళ మూలంగా ఆత్మ మూలంగా తిరిగి పుట్టకుండా ఎవరూ దేవుని రాజ్యంలో ప్రవేశించలేరు. BSB BSB: Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
6 ULB శరీర మూలంగా పుట్టింది శరీరం, ఆత్మ మూలంగా పుట్టింది ఆత్మ. BSB BSB: Flesh is born of flesh, but spirit is born of the Spirit.
7 ULB నువ్వు కొత్తగా పుట్టాలని చెప్పినందుకు అదొక విడ్డూరంగా భావించవద్దు. BSB BSB: Do not be amazed that I said, ‘You must be born again.’
8 ULB గాలి తనకిష్టమైన వైపుకు వీస్తుంది. నువ్వు దాని శబ్దాన్ని మాత్రం వినగలవు, కానీ అది ఎక్కడి నుండి వస్తుందో ఎక్కడికి వెళ్తుందో నీకు తెలియదు. ఆత్మ మూలంగా పుట్టినవాడు అలాగే ఉన్నాడు.” BSB BSB: The wind blows where it wishes. You hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
9 ULB దీనికి జవాబుగా నికోదేము, “ఈ విషయాలు ఎలా సాధ్యం?” అన్నాడు. BSB BSB: “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.
10 ULB యేసు ఇలా అన్నాడు, “నువ్వు ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలకు బోధకుడివై ఉండీ ఈ సంగతులు అర్థం చేసుకోలేవా? BSB BSB: “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and you do not understand these things?
11 ULB మాకు తెలిసిన సంగతులను చెబుతున్నాం, మేము చూసిన వాటి గురించి వివరిస్తున్నాం. అయినా మీరు మా సాక్షాన్ని ఒప్పుకోరని కచ్చితంగా చెబుతున్నాను. BSB BSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, and yet you people do not accept our testimony.
12 ULB భూసంబంధమైన సంగతులు నేను మీకు చెప్పినప్పుడు నమ్మని వారు ఇక నేను పరలోక సంబంధమైన సంగతులు చెప్పినప్పుడు ఎలా నమ్ముతారు? BSB BSB: If I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?
13 ULB పరలోకం నుండి దిగి వచ్చిన మనుష్య కుమారుడు తప్ప పరలోకానికి ఎక్కి వెళ్ళిన వాడు ఎవడూ లేడు. BSB BSB: No one has ascended into heaven except the One who descended from heaven—the Son of Man.
14 ULB అరణ్యంలో మోషే సర్పాన్ని ఎలా పైకి ఎత్తాడో BSB BSB: Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
15 ULB అలాగే విశ్వసించే ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ నశించకుండా ఆయన వల్ల నిత్యజీవం పొందడానికి మనుష్య కుమారుడు కూడా పైకి ఎత్తబడాలి. BSB BSB: that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life.
17 ULB తన కుమారుడి వల్ల లోకం రక్షణ పొందడానికే దేవుడు ఆయనను పంపాడు గానీ లోకానికి శిక్ష విధించడానికి కాదు. BSB BSB: For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
18 ULB ఆయనలో విశ్వాసం ఉంచిన వాడికి శిక్ష ఉండదు. ఆయనలో విశ్వాసం ఉంచని వాడికి ఇదివరకే శిక్ష విధించడం జరిగింది. ఎందుకంటే వాడు దేవుని ఏకైక కుమారుడి నామంలో విశ్వాసం ఉంచలేదు. BSB BSB: Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
19 ULB ఆ శిక్ష విధించడానికి కారణం ఇది, ఈ లోకంలోకి వెలుగు వచ్చింది. వారు చేసే పనులు దుర్మార్గమైనవి కాబట్టి మనుషులు వెలుగును కాకుండా చీకటిని ప్రేమించారు. BSB BSB: And this is the verdict: The Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light because their deeds were evil.
20 ULB దుర్మార్గకార్యాలు చేసే వాడు వెలుగు దగ్గరికి రాడు. వెలుగులో వాడు చేసే దుర్మార్గం అంతా తెలిసిపోతుంది కాబట్టి అలాటివి చేసే ప్రతి వాడూ వెలుగును ద్వేషిస్తాడు. BSB BSB: Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
21 ULB అయితే సత్యాన్ని అనుసరించే వాడు తన పనులు మరింత స్పష్టంగా కనిపించడానికీ దేవుని పట్ల విధేయతలో అవి జరిగాయని వెల్లడి చేయడానికీ వెలుగు దగ్గరికి వస్తాడు.” BSB BSB: But whoever practices the truth comes into the Light, so that it may be seen clearly that what he has done has been accomplished in God.”
22 ULB ఇదయ్యాక యేసు తన శిష్యులతో కూడా యూదయ ప్రాంతానికి వెళ్ళాడు. అక్కడ బాప్తిసం ఇస్తూ, తన శిష్యులతో కాలం గడుపుతూ ఉన్నాడు. BSB BSB: After this, Jesus and His disciples went into the Judean countryside, where He spent some time with them and baptized.
23 ULB సలీము అనే ప్రాంతం దగ్గర ఉన్న ఐనోను అనే స్చోట నీళ్ళు పుష్కలంగా ఉన్నాయి కాబట్టి యోహాను అక్కడ బాప్తిసం ఇస్తున్నాడు. ప్రజలు అక్కడికి వెళ్ళి బాప్తిసం తీసుకుంటూ ఉన్నారు. BSB BSB: Now John was also baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because the water was plentiful there, and people kept coming to be baptized.
24 ULB అప్పటికి యోహానును ఇంకా చెరసాల్లో వేయలేదు. BSB BSB: (For John had not yet been thrown into prison.)
25 ULB అప్పుడు శుద్ధి ఆచారాల గురించి యోహాను శిష్యులకీ ఒక యూదుడికీ వివాదం పుట్టింది. BSB BSB: Then a dispute arose between John’s disciples and a certain Jew over the issue of ceremonial washing.
26 ULB వారు యోహాను దగ్గరికి వచ్చారు. “బోధకా, యొర్దాను నది అవతల నీతో ఒక వ్యక్తి ఉన్నాడే, ఆయన గురించి నువ్వు సాక్ష్యం కూడా చెప్పావు. చూడు, ప్రస్తుతం ఆయన కూడా బాప్తిసం ఇస్తున్నాడు. అందరూ ఆయన దగ్గరకే వెళ్తున్నారు” అని చెప్పారు. BSB BSB: So John’s disciples came to him and said, “Look, Rabbi, the One who was with you beyond the Jordan, the One you testified about—He is baptizing, and everyone is going to Him.”
27 ULB అందుకు యోహాను ఇలా అన్నాడు, “పరలోకం నుండి ఇస్తేనే గానీ ఎవరూ ఏదీ పొందలేరు. BSB BSB: John replied, “A man can receive only what is given him from heaven.
28 ULB నేను క్రీస్తును కాననీ ఆయన కంటే ముందుగా నన్ను పంపడం జరిగిందనీ నేను చెప్పాను. దానికి మీరే సాక్షులు. BSB BSB: You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ, but am sent ahead of Him.’
29 ULB పెళ్ళి కొడుక్కే పెళ్ళి కూతురు ఉంటుంది. అయితే పెళ్ళి కొడుకు స్నేహితుడు నిలబడి పెళ్ళికొడుకు స్వరం వింటూ ఎంతో సంతోషిస్తాడు. అందుకే నా సంతోషం సంపూర్ణం అయింది. BSB BSB: The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom stands and listens for him, and is overjoyed to hear the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.
30 ULB ఆయన హెచ్చాలి, నేను తగ్గాలి.” BSB BSB: He must increase; I must decrease.
31 ULB పై నుండి వచ్చిన వాడు అందరికంటే పైవాడే. భూమి నుండి వచ్చిన వాడు భూసంబంధి గనక భూ సంబంధమైన సంగతులే మాట్లాడతాడు. పరలోకం నుండి వచ్చినవాడు అందరికీ పైనున్నవాడు. BSB BSB: The One who comes from above is above all. The one who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks as one from the earth. The One who comes from heaven is above all.
32 ULB ఆయన తాను చూసిన వాటిని గురించీ విన్నవాటిని గురించీ సాక్ష్యం ఇస్తాడు కానీ ఎవరూ ఆయన సాక్షాన్ని అంగీకరించరు. BSB BSB: He testifies to what He has seen and heard, yet no one accepts His testimony.
33 ULB ఆయన సాక్షాన్ని అంగీకరించిన వాడు దేవుడు సత్యవంతుడని నిరూపిస్తున్నాడు. BSB BSB: Whoever accepts His testimony has certified that God is truthful.
34 ULB దేవుడు పంపిన వ్యక్తి దేవుని మాటలు పలుకుతాడు. ఎందుకంటే తాను పంపిన వ్యక్తికి ఆయన అపరిమితంగా ఆత్మను దయ చేస్తాడు. BSB BSB: For the One whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.
35 ULB తండ్రి కుమారుణ్ణి ప్రేమిస్తున్నాడు. సమస్తాన్నీ ఆయన చేతులకు అప్పగించాడు. BSB BSB: The Father loves the Son and has placed all things in His hands.
36 ULB కుమారుడిలో విశ్వాసం ఉంచేవాడికి నిత్యజీవం ఉంటుంది. అయితే కుమారుడికి విధేయుడు కాని వాడు జీవాన్ని చూడడు. వాడి పైన దేవుని మహా కోపం నిలిచి ఉంటుంది.” BSB BSB: Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. Whoever rejects the Son will not see life. Instead, the wrath of God remains on him.”
