Exodus 2 (THAFB)

3เมื่อซ่อนต่อไปไม่ไหว เธอเอาตะกร้าที่สานจากต้นกกมาทาด้วยยางมะตอยและชัน แล้ววางเด็กลงในตะกร้าและนำไปวางไว้ในกออ้อริมแม่น้ำBut when she could no longer hide him, she got him a papyrus basket and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in the basket and set it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.

And when she saw the basket among the reeds, she sent her maidservant to retrieve it.

7พี่สาวของเด็กจึงถามลูกสาวฟาโรห์ว่า “จะให้ไปตามแม่นมชาวฮีบรูมาเลี้ยงเด็กคนนี้ให้ไหม?”Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and call one of the Hebrew women to nurse the child for you?”

8ลูกสาวฟาโรห์ตอบว่า “ไปสิ” หญิงสาวคนนั้นจึงไปเรียกแม่ของเด็กมา“Go ahead,” Pharaoh’s daughter told her. And the girl went and called the boy’s mother.

9ลูกสาวฟาโรห์บอกเธอว่า “เอาเด็กคนนี้ไปเลี้ยงให้ฉัน และให้นมเขาด้วย แล้วฉันจะจ่ายค่าจ้างให้” หญิงคนนั้นจึงรับเด็กไปเลี้ยง หญิงนั้นจึงรับเด็กไปเลี้ยงและให้นมPharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child and nurse him for me, and I will pay your wages.” So the woman took the boy and nursed him.

10เมื่อเด็กโตขึ้น แม่ของเด็กก็พาเขามาหาลูกสาวฟาโรห์ และเขาก็ได้เป็นลูกของเธอ ลูกสาวฟาโรห์ตั้งชื่อเขาว่าโมเสส เพราะเธอบอกว่า “ฉันดึงเขาขึ้นมาจากน้ำ”When the child had grown older, she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses and explained, “I drew him out of the water.”

He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people.

13วันรุ่งขึ้นเขาออกไปอีก และเห็นชายฮีบรูสองคนกำลังต่อสู้กัน เขาจึงถามคนที่เป็นฝ่ายผิดว่า “ทำไมถึงตีคนร่วมชาติของตัวเอง?”The next day Moses went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, “Why are you attacking your companion?”

14ชายคนนั้นตอบว่า “ใครตั้งนายให้เป็นผู้ปกครองและผู้ตัดสินพวกเรา? คิดจะฆ่าฉันเหมือนที่ฆ่าชาวอียิปต์คนนั้นหรือ?” โมเสสก็กลัวและคิดว่า “เรื่องนี้คงรู้กันแล้วแน่ ๆ” โมเสสจึงกลัวและคิดว่า “เรื่องนี้รู้กันแล้วแน่ ๆ”But the man replied, “Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you planning to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “This thing I have done has surely become known.”

15เมื่อฟาโรห์ได้ยินเรื่องนี้ก็พยายามจะฆ่าโมเสส แต่โมเสสหนีจากฟาโรห์ไปอยู่ในแผ่นดินมีเดียน แล้วเขาก็นั่งลงข้างบ่อน้ำแห่งหนึ่งWhen Pharaoh heard about this matter, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from Pharaoh and settled in the land of Midian, where he sat down beside a well.

16นักบวชแห่งมีเดียนมีลูกสาว 7 คน พวกเธอมาตักน้ำใส่รางจนเต็มเพื่อให้ฝูงสัตว์ของพ่อกินน้ำNow the priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came to draw water and fill the troughs to water their father’s flock.

17แต่พวกคนเลี้ยงแกะเข้ามาไล่พวกเธอ โมเสสจึงลุกขึ้นช่วยและตักน้ำให้ฝูงสัตว์ที่พวกเธอดูแลAnd when some shepherds came along and drove them away, Moses rose up to help them and watered their flock.

18เมื่อกลับไปหาเรอูเอลผู้เป็นพ่อ เขาถามว่า “ทำไมวันนี้กลับมาเร็วนัก?”When the daughters returned to their father Reuel, he asked them, “Why have you returned so early today?”

19พวกเธอตอบว่า “ชายอียิปต์คนหนึ่งช่วยเราให้พ้นจากพวกคนเลี้ยงแกะ ทั้งยังตักน้ำให้เราและให้ฝูงสัตว์กินน้ำด้วย”“An Egyptian rescued us from the shepherds,” they replied. “He even drew water for us and watered the flock.”

20เขาจึงถามลูกสาวว่า “แล้วเขาอยู่ไหน? ทำไมถึงทิ้งชายคนนั้นไว้? ไปเรียกเขามากินอาหารสิ”“So where is he?” their father asked. “Why did you leave the man behind? Invite him to have something to eat.”

21โมเสสตกลงที่จะอยู่กับชายคนนั้น และเรอูเอลก็ยกซิปโปราห์ลูกสาวให้โมเสสMoses agreed to stay with the man, and he gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage.

22เธอคลอดลูกชาย โมเสสตั้งชื่อเขาว่าเกอร์โชม เพราะเขาพูดว่า “ผมมาอยู่เป็นคนต่างถิ่นในแผ่นดินต่างแดน”And she gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom, saying, “I have become a foreigner in a foreign land.”

23หลายปีผ่านไป กษัตริย์อียิปต์ก็ตาย ชาวอิสราเอลถอนใจเพราะการเป็นทาสและร้องขอความช่วยเหลือ เสียงร้องของพวกเขาเพราะการเป็นทาสขึ้นไปถึงพระเจ้าAfter a long time, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned and cried out under their burden of slavery, and their cry for deliverance from bondage ascended to God.

24พระเจ้าได้ยินเสียงคร่ำครวญของพวกเขา และพระองค์ระลึกถึงพันธสัญญาของพระองค์กับอับราฮัม อิสอัค และยาโคบSo God heard their groaning, and He remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

25พระเจ้ามองเห็นชาวอิสราเอล และพระองค์ก็รับรู้God saw the Israelites and took notice.
