1. The Genealogy of Jesus

2. 1TNTThis is the boke of the generacion of Iesus Christ the sonne of Dauid the sonne also of Abraham.BSBBSB: This is the record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham:
3. 2TNTAbraham begat Isaac: Isaac begat Iacob: Iacob begat Iudas and his brethren:BSBBSB: Abraham was the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers.
4. 3TNTIudas begat Phares and zaram of Thamar: Phares begat Hesrom: Hesrom begat Aram:BSBBSB: Judah was the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Ram.
5. 4TNTAram begat Aminadab: Aminadab begat Naasson: Naasson begat Salmon:BSBBSB: Ram was the father of Amminadab, Amminadab the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon the father of Salmon.

9. 8TNTAsa begat Iosaphat: Iosaphat begat Ioram: Ioram begat Osias:BSBBSB: Asa was the father of Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat the father of Joram, and Joram the father of Uzziah.
10. 9TNTOsias begat Ioatham: Ioatham begat Achas: Achas begat Ezechias:BSBBSB: Uzziah was the father of Jotham, Jotham the father of Ahaz, and Ahaz the father of Hezekiah.

12. 11TNTIosias begat Iechonias and his brethren aboute the tyme they were caryed awaye to Babylon.BSBBSB: and Josiah the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.
13. 12TNTAnd after they were brought to Babylon Iechonias begat Salathiel: Salathiel begat zorobabel:BSBBSB: After the exile to Babylon: Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel, Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,
14. 13TNTzorobabel begat Abiud: Abiud begat Eliachim: Eliachim begat Azor:BSBBSB: Zerubbabel the father of Abiud, Abiud the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim the father of Azor.
15. 14TNTAzor begat Sadoc: Sadoc begat Achin: Achin begat Eliud:BSBBSB: Azor was the father of Zadok, Zadok the father of Achim, and Achim the father of Eliud.
16. 15TNTEliud begat Eleasar: Eleasar begat Matthan: Matthan begat Iacob:BSBBSB: Eliud was the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob,
17. 16TNTIacob begat Ioseph the husbande of Mary of which was boren that Iesus that is called Christ.BSBBSB: and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
18. 17TNTAll the generacions from Abraham to David are fowretene generacions. And from David vnto the captivite of Babylon are fowretene generacions. And from the captivite of Babylon vnto Christ are also fowrtene generacions.BSBBSB: In all, then, there were fourteen generations from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Christ.

19. The Birth of Jesus

    (Isaiah 7:10–16; Luke 2:1–7)

20. 18TNTThe byrthe of Iesus Christ was on thys wyse. When hys mother Mary was betrouthed to Ioseph before they came to dwell to gedder she was foude with chylde by the holy goost.BSBBSB: This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged in marriage to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
21. 19TNTThe Ioseph her husbande beinge a perfect man and loth to make an ensample of her was mynded to put her awaye secretely.BSBBSB: Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and was unwilling to disgrace her publicly, he resolved to divorce her quietly.
22. 20TNTWhill he thus thought behold the angell of the Lorde appered vnto him in a dreame saynge: Ioseph the sonne of David feare not to take vnto ye Mary thy wyfe. For that which is conceaved in her is of the holy goost.BSBBSB: But after he had pondered these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to embrace Mary as your wife, for the One conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
23. 21TNTShe shall brynge forthe a sonne and thou shalt call his name Iesus. For he shall save his peple from their synnes.BSBBSB: She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”
24. 22TNTAll this was done to fulfill that which was spoken of the Lorde by the Prophet saynge:BSBBSB: All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
25. 23TNTBeholde a mayde shall be with chylde and shall brynge forthe a sonne and they shall call his name Emanuel which is by interpretacion God with vs.BSBBSB: “Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”).
26. 24TNTAnd Ioseph assone as he awoke out of slepe did as the angell of the Lorde bade hym and toke hys wyfe vnto hymBSBBSB: When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and embraced Mary as his wife.
27. 25TNTand knewe her not tyll she had brought forth hir fyrst sonne and called hys name Iesus.BSBBSB: But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a Son. And he gave Him the name Jesus.
