1 ULB तब इस्राईल के सब क़बीले हब्रून में दाऊद के पास आकर कहने लगे, "देख हम तेरी हड्डी और तेरा गोश्त हैं| BSB BSB: Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said, “Here we are, your own flesh and blood.
2 ULB और गुज़रे ज़माने में जब साऊल हमारा बादशाह था, तो तू ही इस्राईलियों को ले जाया और ले आया करता था: और ख़ुदावन्द ने तुझसे कहा कि तू मेरे इस्राईली लोगों की गल्ला बानी करेगा और तू इस्राईल का सरदार होगा|" BSB BSB: Even in times past, while Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and brought them back. And to you the LORD said, ‘You will shepherd My people Israel, and you will be ruler over them.’”
3 ULB ग़र्ज़ इस्राईल के सब बुज़ुर्ग हब्रून में बादशाह के पास आए और दाऊद बादशाह ने हब्रून में उनके साथ ख़ुदावन्द के सामने 'अहद बाँधा और उन्होंने दाऊद को मसह करके इस्राईल का बादशाह बनाया| BSB BSB: So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, where King David made with them a covenant before the LORD. And they anointed him king over Israel.
4 ULB और दाऊद जब हुकूमत करने लगा तो तीस बरस का था और उसने चालीस बरस बादशाहत की| BSB BSB: David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned forty years.
5 ULB उसने हब्रून में सात बरस छ: महीने यहूदाह पर हुकूमत की और यरुशलीम में सब इस्राईल और यहूदाह पर तैंतीस बरस बादशाहत की| BSB BSB: In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.
7 ULB तो भी दाऊद ने सीय्योन का क़िला' ले लिया, वही दाऊद का शहर है| BSB BSB: Nevertheless, David captured the fortress of Zion (that is, the City of David).
8 ULB और दाऊद ने उस दिन कहा कि "जो कोई यबूसियों को मारे वह नाले को जाए और उन लंगड़ों और अंधों को मारे जिन से दाऊद के दिल को नफ़रत है|" ~इसी लिए यह कहावत है कि "अंधे और लंगड़े वहाँ हैं, इसलिए वह घर में नहीं आ सकता|" BSB BSB: On that day he said, “Whoever attacks the Jebusites must use the water shaft to reach the lame and blind who are despised by David.” That is why it is said, “The blind and the lame will never enter the palace.”
10 ULB और दाऊद बढ़ता ही गया क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द लश्करों का ख़ुदा उसके साथ था| BSB BSB: And David became greater and greater, for the LORD God of Hosts was with him.
12 ULB और दाऊद को यक़ीन हुआ कि ख़ुदावन्द ने उसे इस्राईल का बादशाह बनाकर क़यास बख़्शा, और उसने उसकी हुकूमत को अपनी क़ौम इस्राईल की खा़तिर मुम्ताज़ किया है| BSB BSB: And David realized that the LORD had established him as king over Israel and had exalted his kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.
13 ULB और हब्रून से चले आने के बा'द दाऊद ने यरुशलीम से और बाँदियाँ ~रख लीं और बीवियाँ कीं और दाऊद के यहाँ और बेटे बेटियाँ पैदा हुईं| BSB BSB: After he had arrived from Hebron, David took more concubines and wives from Jerusalem, and more sons and daughters were born to him.
14 ULB और जो यरुशलीम में उसके यहाँ पैदा हुए, उनके नाम यह हैं सम्मू'आ, और सोबाब और नातन और सुलैमान| BSB BSB: These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,
15 ULB और इबहार और इलीसू और नफ़ज और यफ़ी’| BSB BSB: Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, Japhia,
16 ULB और इलीसमा’ और इलयदा और इलीफ़ालत| BSB BSB: Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet.
17 ULB और जब फ़िलिस्तियों ने सुना कि उन्होंने दाऊद को मसह करके इस्राईल का बादशाह बनाया है, तो सब फ़िलिस्ती दाऊद की तलाश में चढ़ आए और दाऊद को ख़बर हुई, तब वह क़िला' में चला गया| BSB BSB: When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over Israel, they all went in search of him; but David learned of this and went down to the stronghold.
18 ULB और फ़िलिस्ती आकर रिफ़ाईम की वादी में फ़ैल गये| BSB BSB: Now the Philistines had come and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim.
19 ULB तब दाऊद ने ख़ुदा से पूँछा, "क्या मैं फ़िलिस्तियों के मुक़ाबला को जाऊँ?क्या तू उनको मेरे क़ब्ज़े ~में कर देगा?" ~ख़ुदावन्द ने दाऊद से कहा कि "जा|" क्यूँकि मैं ज़रूर फ़िलिस्तियों को तेरे क़ब्ज़े में कर दूँगा|” BSB BSB: So David inquired of the LORD, “Should I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” “Go up,” replied the LORD, “for I will surely deliver the Philistines into your hand.”
20 ULB फिर दाऊद बा'ल प्राज़ीम में आया और वहाँ दाऊद ने उनको मारा और कहने लगा कि "ख़ुदावन्द ने मेरे दुश्मनों को मेरे सामने तोड़ डाला जैसे पानी टूट कर बह निकलता है|" ~तब उसने उस जगह का नाम बा'ल प्राज़ीम रखा| BSB BSB: So David went to Baal-perazim, where he defeated the Philistines and said, “Like a bursting flood, the LORD has burst out against my enemies before me.” So he called that place Baal-perazim.
21 ULB और वहीं उन्होंने अपने बुतों को छोड़ दिया था तब दाऊद और उसके लोग उनको ले गए| BSB BSB: There the Philistines abandoned their idols, and David and his men carried them away.
22 ULB और फ़िलिस्ती फिर चढ़ आए और रिफ़ाईम की वादी में फ़ैल गये| BSB BSB: Once again the Philistines came up and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim.
23 ULB और जब दाऊद ने ख़ुदावन्द से पूँछा तो उसने कहा, "तू चढ़ाई न कर, उनके पीछे से घूम कर तूत के दरख़्तों के सामने से उन पर हमला कर| BSB BSB: So David inquired of the LORD, who answered, “Do not march straight up, but circle around behind them and attack them in front of the balsam trees.
24 ULB और जब तूत के दरख़्तों की फुन्गियों में तुझे फ़ौज के चलने की आवाज़ सुनाई दे तो चुस्त हो जाना, क्यूँकि उस वक़्त ख़ुदावन्द तेरे आगे आगे निकल चुका होगा, ताकि फ़िलिस्तियों के लश्कर को मारे|" BSB BSB: As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, move quickly, because this will mean that the LORD has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”
25 ULB और दाऊद ने जैसा ख़ुदावन्द ने उसे फ़रमाया था वैसा ही किया और फ़िलिस्तियों को जिबा' से जज़र तक मारता गया| BSB BSB: So David did as the LORD had commanded him, and he struck down the Philistines all the way from Gibeon to Gezer.
