1 ULB फिर वो दिरबे और लुस्तरा में भी पहूँचा। तो देखो वहाँ तीमुथियूस नाम का एक शागिर्द था। उसकी माँ तो यहूदी थी जो ईमान ले आई थी,मगर उसका बाप यूनानी था। BSB BSB: Paul came to Derbe and then to Lystra, where he found a disciple named Timothy, the son of a believing Jewish woman and a Greek father.
2 ULB वो लुस्तरा और इकुनियूम के भाइयों में नेक नाम था। BSB BSB: The brothers in Lystra and Iconium spoke well of him.
3 ULB पौलुस ने चाहा कि ये मेरे साथ चले। पस, उसको लेकर उन यहूदियों की वजह से जो उस इलाके में थे, उसका ख़तना कर दिया क्यूँकि वो सब जानते थे, कि इसका बाप यूनानी है। BSB BSB: Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him, so he took him and circumcised him on account of the Jews in that area, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.
4 ULB और वो जिन जिन शहरों में से गुज़रते थे, वहाँ के लोगों को वो अहकाम अमल करने के लिए पहुँचाते जाते थे, जो यरूशलीम के रसूलों और बुज़ुर्गों ने जारी किए थे। BSB BSB: As they went from town to town, they delivered the decisions handed down by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem for the people to obey.
5 ULB पस, कलीसियाएँ ईमान में मज़बूत और शुमार में रोज़-ब-रोज़ ज़्यादा होती गईं। BSB BSB: So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers.
6 ULB और वो फ़रोगिया और गलतिया सूबे के इलाक़े में से गुज़रे, क्यूँकि रूह-उल-क़ुद्दूस ने उन्हें आसिया में कलाम सुनाने से मना किया। BSB BSB: After the Holy Spirit had prevented them from speaking the word in the province of Asia, they traveled through the region of Phrygia and Galatia.
7 ULB और उन्होंने मूसिया के क़रीब पहुँचकर बितूनिया सूबे में जाने की कोशिश की मगर ईसा' की रूह ने उन्हें जाने न दिया। BSB BSB: And when they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not permit them.
8 ULB पस, वो मूसिया से गुज़र कर त्रोआस शहर में आए। BSB BSB: So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas.
9 ULB और पौलुस ने रात को ख़्वाब में देखा कि एक मकिदुनी आदमी खड़ा हुआ, उस की मिन्नत करके कहता है कि “पार उतर कर मकिदुनिया में आ, और हमारी मदद कर!” BSB BSB: During the night, Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and pleading with him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”
11 ULB पस, त्रोआस शहर से जहाज़ पर रवाना होकर हम सीधे सुमत्राकि टापू में और दूसरे दिन नियापुलिस शहर में आए। BSB BSB: We sailed from Troas straight to Samothrace, and the following day on to Neapolis.
12 ULB और वहाँ से फ़िलिप्पी शहर में पहुँचे, जो मकिदुनिया का सूबा में है और उस क़िस्मत का सद्र और रोंमियों की बस्ती है और हम चँद रोज़ उस शहर में रहे। BSB BSB: From there we went to the Roman colony of Philippi, the leading city of that district of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days.
13 ULB और सबत के दिन शहर के दरवाज़े के बाहर नदी के किनारे गए, जहाँ समझे कि दु'आ करने की जगह होगी और बैठ कर उन औरतों से जो इकट्ठी हुई थीं, कलाम करने लगे। BSB BSB: On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate along the river, where it was customary to find a place of prayer. After sitting down, we spoke to the women who had gathered there.
14 ULB और थुआतीरा शहर की एक ख़ुदा परस्त औरत लुदिया नाम की, किर्मिज़ बेचने वाली भी सुनती थी, उसका दिल ख़ुदावन्द ने खोला ताकि पौलुस की बातों पर तवज्जुह करे। BSB BSB: Among those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message.
15 ULB और जब उस ने अपने घराने समेत बपतिस्मा लिया तो मिन्नत कर के कहा कि "अगर तुम मुझे ख़ुदावन्द की ईमानदार बन्दी समझते हो तो चल कर मेरे घर में रहो" पस, उसने हमें मजबूर किया। BSB BSB: And when she and her household had been baptized, she urged us, “If you consider me a believer in the Lord, come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us.
16 ULB जब हम दु'आ करने की जगह जा रहे थे, तो ऐसा हुआ कि हमें एक लौंडी मिली जिस में पोशीदा रूहै थी, वो ग़ैब गोई से अपने मालिकों के लिए बहुत कुछ कमाती थी। BSB BSB: One day as we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl with a spirit of divination, who earned a large income for her masters by fortune-telling.
17 ULB वो पौलुस के, और हमारे पीछे आकर चिल्लाने लगी “कि ये आदमी "ख़ुदा" के बन्दे हैं जो तुम्हें नजात की राह बताते हैं।” BSB BSB: This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation!”
18 ULB वो बहुत दिनों तक ऐसा ही करती रही। आख़िर पौलुस सख़्त रंजीदा हुआ और फिर कर उस रूह से कहा कि "मैं तुझे ईसा' मसीह के नाम से हुक्म देता हूँ “कि इस में से निकल जा!”वो उसी वक़्त निकल गई। BSB BSB: She continued this for many days. Eventually Paul grew so aggravated that he turned and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” And the spirit left her at that very moment.
19 ULB जब उस के मालिकों ने देखा कि हमारी कमाई की उम्मीद जाती रही तो पौलुस और सीलास को पकड़कर हाकिमों के पास चौक में खींच ले गए। BSB BSB: When the girl’s owners saw that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them before the authorities in the marketplace.
20 ULB और उन्हें फ़ौजदारी के हाकिमों के आगे ले जा कर कहा “कि ये आदमी जो यहूदी हैं हमारे शहर में बड़ी खलबली डालते हैं। BSB BSB: They brought them to the magistrates and said, “These men are Jews and are throwing our city into turmoil
21 ULB और "ऐसी रस्में बताते हैं, जिनको क़ुबूल करना और अमल में लाना हम रोंमियों को पसंद नहीं।” BSB BSB: by promoting customs that are unlawful for us Romans to adopt or practice.”
22 ULB और आम लोग भी मुत्तफ़िक़ होकर उनकी मुख़ालिफ़त पर आमादा हुए, और फ़ौजदारी के हाकिमों ने उन के कपड़े फ़ाड़कर उतार डाले और बेंत लगाने का हुक्म दिया BSB BSB: The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered that they be stripped and beaten with rods.
23 ULB और बहुत से बेंत लगवाकर उन्हें क़ैद ख़ाने में डाल दिया, और दरोग़ा को ताकीद की कि बड़ी होशियारी से उनकी निगहबानी करे। BSB BSB: And after striking them with many blows, they threw them into prison and ordered the jailer to guard them securely.
24 ULB उस ने ऐसा हुक्म पाकर उन्हें अन्दर के क़ैद ख़ाने में डाल दिया, और उनके पाँव काठ में ठोंक दिए। BSB BSB: On receiving this order, he placed them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.
25 ULB आधी रात के क़रीब पौलुस और सीलास दु'आ कर रहे और "ख़ुदा" की हम्द के गीत गा रहे थे, और क़ैदी सुन रहे थे। BSB BSB: About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
26 ULB कि यकायक बड़ा भूचाल आया, यहाँ तक कि क़ैद ख़ाने की नींव हिल गई और उसी वक़्त सब दरवाज़े खुल गए और सब की बेड़ियाँ ख़ुल पड़ीं। BSB BSB: Suddenly a strong earthquake shook the foundations of the prison. At once all the doors flew open and everyone’s chains came loose.
27 ULB और दरोग़ा जाग उठा, और क़ैद ख़ाने के दरवाज़े खुले देखकर समझा कि क़ैदी भाग गए, पस, तलवार खींचकर अपने आप को मार डालना चाहा। BSB BSB: When the jailer woke up and saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, presuming that the prisoners had escaped.
28 ULB लेकिन पौलुस ने बड़ी आवाज़ से पुकार कर कहा “अपने को नुक़्सान न पहुँचा! क्यूँकि हम सब मौजूद हैं।” BSB BSB: But Paul called out in a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself! We are all here!”
29 ULB वो चराग़ मँगवा कर अन्दर जा कूदा। और काँपता हुआ पौलुस और सीलास के आगे गिरा। BSB BSB: Calling for lights, the jailer rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas.
30 ULB और उन्हें बाहर ला कर कहा “ऐ साहिबो में क्या करूं कि नजात पाँऊं?” BSB BSB: Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
31 ULB उन्होंने कहा, "ख़ुदावन्द ईसा' पर ईमान ला “तो तू और तेरा घराना नजात पाएगा।” BSB BSB: They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.”
32 ULB और उन्हों ने उस को और उस के सब घरवालों को "ख़ुदावन्द" का कलाम सुनाया। BSB BSB: Then Paul and Silas spoke the word of the Lord to him and to everyone in his house.
33 ULB और उस ने रात को उसी वक़्त उन्हें ले जा कर उनके ज़ख़्म धोए और उसी वक़्त अपने सब लोगों के साथ बपतिस्मा लिया। BSB BSB: At that hour of the night, the jailer took them and washed their wounds. And without delay, he and all his household were baptized.
34 ULB और उन्हें ऊपर घर में ले जा कर दस्तरख़्वान बिछाया, और अपने सारे घराने समेत "ख़ुदा" पर ईमान ला कर बड़ी ख़ुशी की। BSB BSB: Then he brought them into his home and set a meal before them. So he and all his household rejoiced that they had come to believe in God.
35 ULB जब दिन हुआ, तो फ़ौजदारी के हाकिमों ने हवालदारों के ज़रिये कहला भेजा कि उन आदमियों को छोड़ दे। BSB BSB: When daylight came, the magistrates sent their officers with the order: “Release those men.”
36 ULB और दरोग़ा ने पौलुस को इस बात की ख़बर दी कि फ़ौजदारी के हाकिमों ने तुम्हारे छोड़ देने का हुक्म भेज दिया है “पस अब निकल कर सलामत चले जाओ।” BSB BSB: The jailer informed Paul: “The magistrates have sent orders to release you. Now you may go on your way in peace.”
37 ULB मगर पौलुस ने उससे कहा, "उन्होंने हम को जो रोमी हैं क़ुसूर साबित किए बग़ैर “ऐलानिया पिटवाकर क़ैद में डाला।और अब हम को चुपके से निकालते हैं? ये नहीं हो सकता; बल्कि वो आप आकर हमें बाहर ले जाएँ।” BSB BSB: But Paul said to the officers, “They beat us publicly without a trial and threw us into prison, even though we are Roman citizens. And now do they want to send us away secretly? Absolutely not! Let them come themselves and escort us out!”
38 ULB हवालदारों ने फ़ौजदारी के हाकिमों को इन बातों की ख़बर दी। जब उन्हों ने सुना कि ये रोमी हैं तो डर गए। BSB BSB: So the officers relayed this message to the magistrates, who were alarmed to hear that Paul and Silas were Roman citizens.
39 ULB और आकर उन की मिन्नत की और बाहर ले जाकर दरख़्वास्त की कि शहर से चले जाएँ। BSB BSB: They came to appease them and led them out, requesting that they leave the city.
40 ULB पस वो क़ैद ख़ाने से निकल कर लुदिया के यहाँ गए और भाइयों से मिलकर उन्हें तसल्ली दी। और रवाना हुए। BSB BSB: After Paul and Silas came out of the prison, they went to Lydia’s house to see the brothers and encourage them. Then they left the city.
