2 ULB "ऐसी बहुत सी बातें मैं सुन चुका हूँ, तुम सब के सब निकम्मे तसल्ली देने वाले हो| BSB BSB: “I have heard many things like these; miserable comforters are you all.
3 ULB क्या बेकार बातें कभी ख़त्म होंगी? तू कौन सी बात से झिड़क कर जवाब देता है? BSB BSB: Is there no end to your long-winded speeches? What provokes you to continue testifying?
4 ULB मैं भी तुम्हारी तरह बात बना सकता हूँ: अगर तुम्हारी जान मेरी जान की जगह होती तो मैं तुम्हारे ख़िलाफ़ बातें बना सकता, और तुम पर अपना सिर हिला सकता। BSB BSB: I could also speak like you if you were in my place; I could heap up words against you and shake my head at you.
5 ULB बल्कि मैं अपनी ज़बान से तुम्हें ताक़त देता, और मेरे लबों की तकलीफ़ तुम को तसल्ली देती। BSB BSB: But I would encourage you with my mouth, and the consolation of my lips would bring relief.
6 ULB अगर्चे मैं बोलता हूँ लेकिन मुझ को तसल्ली नहीं होती, और मैं चुप भी हो जाता हूँ, लेकिन मुझे क्या राहत होती है| BSB BSB: Even if I speak, my pain is not relieved, and if I hold back, how will it go away?
7 ULB ~लेकिन उसने तो मुझे दुखी कर डाला है, तूने मेरे सारे गिरोह को तबाह कर दिया है| BSB BSB: Surely He has now exhausted me; You have devastated all my family.
8 ULB तूने मुझे मज़बूती से पकड़ लिया है, यही मुझ पर गवाह है। मेरी लाचारी मेरे ख़िलाफ़ खड़ी होकर मेरे मुँह पर गवाही देती है। BSB BSB: You have bound me, and it has become a witness; my frailty rises up and testifies against me.
9 ULB उसने अपने ग़ुस्से से मुझे फाड़ा और मेरा पीछा किया है; उसने मुझ पर दाँत पीसे, मेरा मुख़ालिफ़ मुझे आँखें दिखाता है। BSB BSB: His anger has torn me and opposed me; He gnashes His teeth at me. My adversary pierces me with His eyes.
10 ULB उन्होंने मुझ पर मुँह पसारा हैं, उन्होंने तनज़न मुझे गाल पर मारा है; वह मेरे ख़िलाफ़ इकट्ठे होते हैं। BSB BSB: They open their mouths against me and strike my cheeks with contempt; they join together against me.
11 ULB ख़ुदा मुझे बेदीनों के हवाले करता है, और शरीरों के हाथों में मुझे हवाले करता है। BSB BSB: God has delivered me to unjust men; He has thrown me to the clutches of the wicked.
12 ULB मैं आराम से था, और उसने मुझे चूर चूरकर डाला; उसने मेरी गर्दन पकड़ ली और मुझे पटक कर टुकड़े टुकड़े कर दिया: और उसने मुझे अपना निशाना बनाकर खड़ा किया है| BSB BSB: I was at ease, but He shattered me; He seized me by the neck and crushed me. He has set me up as His target;
13 ULB उसके तीर अंदाज़ मुझे चारों तरफ़ से घेर लेते हैं, वह मेरे गुर्दों को चीरता है, और रहम नहीं करता, और मेरे पित को ज़मीन पर बहा देता है। BSB BSB: His archers surround me. He pierces my kidneys without mercy and spills my gall on the ground.
14 ULB वह मुझे ज़ख़्म पर ज़ख़्म लगा कर खस्ता करता है वह पहलवान की तरह मुझ पर हमला करता है: BSB BSB: He breaks me with wound upon wound; He rushes me like a mighty warrior.
15 ULB मैंने अपनी खाल पर टाट को सी लिया है, और अपना सींग ख़ाक में रख दिया है। BSB BSB: I have sewn sackcloth over my skin; I have buried my horn in the dust.
16 ULB मेरा मुँह रोते रोते सूज गया है, और मेरी पलकों पर मौत का साया है। BSB BSB: My face is red with weeping, and deep shadows ring my eyes;
17 ULB अगर्चे मेरे हाथों~ज़ुल्म नहीं, और मेरी दु'आ बुराई से पाक है। BSB BSB: yet my hands are free of violence and my prayer is pure.
18 ULB ऐ ज़मीन, मेरे ख़ून को न ढाँकना, और मेरी फ़रियाद को आराम की जगह न मिले। BSB BSB: O earth, do not cover my blood; may my cry for help never be laid to rest.
19 ULB अब भी देख, मेरा गवाह आसमान पर है, और मेरा ज़ामिन 'आलम-ए-बाला पर है। BSB BSB: Even now my witness is in heaven, and my advocate is on high.
20 ULB मेरे दोस्त मेरी हिकारत करते हैं, लेकिन मेरी आँख ख़ुदा के सामने ~आँसू बहाती है; BSB BSB: My friends are my scoffers as my eyes pour out tears to God.
21 ULB ताकि वह आदमी के हक़ को अपने साथ और आदम ज़ाद के हक़ को उसके पड़ोसी के साथ क़ायम रख्खे BSB BSB: Oh, that a man might plead with God as he pleads with his neighbor!
22 ULB क्यूँकि जब चंद साल निकल जाएँगे, तो मैं उस रास्ते से चला जाऊँगा जिससे फिर लौटने का नहीं| BSB BSB: For when only a few years are past I will go the way of no return.
