1. 1ULBइब्तिदा में कलाम था, और कलाम ख़ुदा के साथ था, और कलाम ही ख़ुदा था।BSBBSB: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2. 2ULBयही शुरू में ख़ुदा के साथ था।BSBBSB: He was with God in the beginning.
3. 3ULBसब चीज़ें उसके वसीले से पैदा हुईं, और जो कुछ पैदा हुआ है उसमें से कोई चीज़ भी उसके बग़ैर पैदा नहीं हुई।BSBBSB: Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made.
4. 4ULBउसमें ज़िन्दगी थी और वो ज़िन्दगी आदमियों का नूर थी।BSBBSB: In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.
5. 5ULBऔर नूर तारीकी में चमकता है, और तारीकी ने उसे क़ुबूल न किया|BSBBSB: The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6. 6ULBएक आदमी युहन्ना नाम आ मौजूद हुआ, जो ख़ुदा की तरफ़ से भेजा गया था;BSBBSB: There came a man who was sent from God. His name was John.
7. 7ULBये गवाही के लिए आया कि नूर की गवाही दे, ताकि सब उसके वसीले से ईमान लाएँ।BSBBSB: He came as a witness to testify about the Light, so that through him everyone might believe.
8. 8ULBवो ख़ुद तो नूर न था, मगर नूर की गवाही देने आया था|BSBBSB: He himself was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light.
9. 9ULBहक़ीक़ी नूर जो हर एक आदमी को रौशन करता है, दुनियाँ में आने को था|BSBBSB: The true Light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.
10. 10ULBवो दुनियाँ में था, और दुनियाँ उसके वसीले से पैदा हुई, और दुनियाँ ने उसे न पहचाना|।BSBBSB: He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him.
11. 11ULBवो अपने घर आया और और उसके अपनों ने उसे क़ुबूल न किया।BSBBSB: He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
12. 12ULBलेकिन जितनों ने उसे क़ुबूल किया, उसने उन्हें ख़ुदा के फ़र्ज़न्द बनने का हक़ बख़्शा, या'नी उन्हें जो उसके नाम पर ईमान लाते हैं|BSBBSB: But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—
13. 13ULBवो न खून से, न जिस्म की ख़्वाहिश से, न इंसान के इरादे से, बल्कि ख़ुदा से पैदा हुए|BSBBSB: children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God.
14. 14ULBऔर कलाम मुजस्सिम हुआ फ़ज़ल और सच्चाई से भरकर हमारे दरमियान रहा, और हम ने उसका ऐसा जलाल देखा जैसा बाप के इकलौते का जलाल|BSBBSB: The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
15. 15ULBयुहन्ना ने उसके बारे में गवाही दी, और पुकार कर कहा है, "ये वही है, जिसका मैंने ज़िक्र किया कि जो मेरे बा'द आता है, वो मुझ से मुक़द्दम ठहरा क्यूँकि वो मुझ से पहले था|"BSBBSB: John testified concerning Him. He cried out, saying, “This is He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because He was before me.’”
16. 16ULBक्यूँकि उसकी भरपूरी में से हम सब ने पाया, या'नी फ़ज़ल पर फ़ज़ल।BSBBSB: From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace.
17. 17ULBइसलिए कि शरी'अत तो मूसा के ज़रिये दी गई, मगर फ़ज़ल और सच्चाई ईसा' मसीह के ज़रिये पहुँची।BSBBSB: For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
18. “The only Son” or “the only God”
    18ULBख़ुदा को किसी ने कभी नहीं देखा, इकलौता बेटा जो बाप की गोद में है उसी ने ज़ाहिर किया|BSBBSB: No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is at the Father’s side, has made Him known.
19. 19ULBऔर युहन्ना की गवाही ये है, कि जब यहूदी अगुवो ने यरूशलीम से काहिन और लावी ये पूछने को उसके पास भेजे, "तू कौन है?"BSBBSB: And this was John’s testimony when the Jews of Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him, “Who are you?”
20. 20ULBतो उसने इक़रार किया, "और इन्कार न किया बल्कि, इक़रार किया, "मैं तो मसीह नहीं हूँ|"BSBBSB: He did not refuse to confess, but openly declared, “I am not the Christ.”
21. 21ULBउन्होंने उससे पूछा," फिर तू कौन है? क्या तू एलियाह है?" उसने कहा, "मैं नहीं हूँ|" "क्या तू वो नबी है?" उसने जवाब दिया,कि "नहीं|"BSBBSB: “Then who are you?” they inquired. “Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.”
22. 22ULBपस उन्होंने उससे कहा, "फिर तू है कौन? ताकि हम अपने भेजने वालों को जवाब दें कि, तू अपने हक़ में क्या कहता है?"BSBBSB: So they said to him, “Who are you? We need an answer for those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”
23. 23ULB“मैं जैसा यसायाह नबी ने कहा,वीराने में एक पुकारने वाले की आवाज़ हूँ,'तुम ख़ुदा वन्द की राह को सीधा करो'।”BSBBSB: John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet: “I am a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”
24. 24ULBये फ़रीसियों की तरफ़ से भेजे गए थे|BSBBSB: Then the Pharisees who had been sent
25. 25ULBउन्होंने उससे ये सवाल किया, "अगर तू न मसीह है, न एलियाह, न वो नबी, तो फिर बपतिस्मा क्यूँ देता है?"BSBBSB: asked him, “Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”
26. 26ULBयुहन्ना ने जवाब में उनसे कहा, "मैं पानी से बपतिस्मा देता हूँ, तुम्हारे बीच एक शख़्स खड़ा है जिसे तुम नहीं जानते।BSBBSB: “I baptize with water,” John replied, “but among you stands One you do not know.
27. 27ULBया'नी मेरे बा'द का आनेवाला, जिसकी जूती का फ़ीता मैं खोलने के लायक़ नहीं|"BSBBSB: He is the One who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”
28. 28ULBये बातें यरदन के पार बैत'अन्नियाह में वाक़े' हुईं, जहाँ युहन्ना बपतिस्मा देता था|BSBBSB: All this happened at Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29. 29ULBदूसरे दिन उसने ईसा' 'को अपनी तरफ़ आते देखकर कहा, "देखो, ये ख़ुदा का बर्रा है जो दुनियाँ का गुनाह उठा ले जाता है!BSBBSB: The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
30. 30ULBये वही है जिसके बारे मैंने कहा था, 'एक शख़्स मेरे बा'द आता है, जो मुझ से मुक़द्दम ठहरा है, क्योंकि वो मुझ से पहले था|'BSBBSB: This is He of whom I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because He was before me.’
31. 31ULBऔर मैं तो उसे पहचानता न था, मगर इसलिए पानी से बपतिस्मा देता हुआ आया कि वो इस्राईल पर ज़ाहिर हो जाए|"BSBBSB: I myself did not know Him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that He might be revealed to Israel.”
32. 32ULBऔर युहन्ना ने ये गवाही दी: "मैंने रूह को कबूतर की तरह आसमान से उतरते देखा है, और वो उस पर ठहर गया।BSBBSB: Then John testified, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove and resting on Him.
33. 33ULBमैं तो उसे पहचानता न था, मगर जिसने मुझे पानी से बपतिस्मा देने को भेजा उसी ने मुझ से कहा, 'जिस पर तू रूह को उतरते और ठहरते देखे, वही रूह-उल-क़ुद्दूस से बपतिस्मा देनेवाला है।'BSBBSB: I myself did not know Him, but the One who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is He who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’
34. 34ULBचुनाँचे मैंने देखा, और गवाही दी है कि ये ख़ुदा का बेटा है|"BSBBSB: I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”
35. 35ULBदूसरे दिन फिर युहन्ना और उसके शागिर्दों में से दो शख़्स खड़े थे,।BSBBSB: The next day John was there again with two of his disciples.
36. 36ULBउसने ईसा' पर जो जा रहा था निगाह करके कहा, "देखो, ये ख़ुदा का बर्रा है!"BSBBSB: When he saw Jesus walking by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!”
37. 37ULBवो दोनों शागिर्द उसको ये कहते सुनकर ईसा' के पीछे हो लिए|BSBBSB: And when the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus.
38. 38ULBईसा' ने फिरकर और उन्हें पीछे आते देखकर उनसे कहा, "तुम क्या ढूँढ़ते हो?" उन्होंने उससे कहा, "ऐ रब्बी (या'नी ऐ उस्ताद), तू कहाँ रहता है?"BSBBSB: Jesus turned and saw them following. “What do you want?” He asked. They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are You staying?”
39. 39ULBउसने उनसे कहा, "चलो, देख लोगे|" पस उन्होंने आकर उसके रहने की जगह देखी और उस रोज़ उसके साथ रहे, और ये चार बजे के क़रीब था|BSBBSB: “Come and see,” He replied. So they went and saw where He was staying, and spent that day with Him. It was about the tenth hour.
40. 40ULBउन दोनों में से जो यूहन्ना की बात सुनकर ईसा' के पीछे हो लिए थे, एक शमा'ऊन पतरस का भाई अन्द्रियास था।BSBBSB: Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard John’s testimony and followed Jesus.
41. 41ULBउसने पहले अपने सगे भाई शमा'ऊन से मिलकर उससे कहा, "हम को ख़्रितुस, या'नी मसीह मिल गया|"BSBBSB: He first found his brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated as Christ).
42. 42ULBवो उसे ईसा' के पास लाया ईसा' ने उस पर निगाह करके कहा, "तू यूहन्ना का बेटा शमा'ऊन है; तू कैफ़ा या'नी पतरस कहलाएगा|"BSBBSB: Andrew brought him to Jesus, who looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which is translated as Peter).
43. 43ULBदूसरे दिन ईसा ने गलील में जाना चाहा, और फिलिप्पुस से मिलकर कहा,"मेरे पीछे हो ले|"BSBBSB: The next day Jesus decided to set out for Galilee. Finding Philip, He told him, “Follow Me.”
44. 44ULBफ़िलिप्पुस, अन्द्रियास और पतरस के शहर, बैतसैदा का रहने वाला था।BSBBSB: Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the same town as Andrew and Peter.
45. 45ULBफ़िलिप्पुस से नतनएल से मिलकर उससे कहा, "जिसका ज़िक्र मूसा ने तौरेत में और नबियों ने किया है, वो हम को मिल गया; वो यूसुफ़ का बेटा ईसा' नासरी है|"BSBBSB: Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the One Moses wrote about in the Law, the One the prophets foretold—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
46. 46ULBनतनएल ने उससे कहा, "क्या नासरत से कोई अच्छी चीज़ निकल सकती है?" फिलिप्पुस ने कहा, "चलकर देख ले|"BSBBSB: “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip.
47. 47ULBईसा' ने नतनएल को अपनी तरफ़ आते देखकर उसके हक़ में कहा, "देखो, ये फ़िल हक़ीक़त इस्राईली है! इसमें मक्र नहीं|"BSBBSB: When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, He said of him, “Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is no deceit.”
48. 48ULBनतनएल ने उससे कहा, "तू मुझे कहाँ से जानता है?" ईसा' ने उसके जवाब में कहा, "इससे पहले के फ़िलिप्पुस ने तुझे बुलाया, जब तू अंजीर के दरख़्त के नीचे था, मैंने तुझे देखा|"BSBBSB: “How do You know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus replied, “Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.”
49. 49ULBनतनएल ने उसको जवाब दिया, "ऐ रब्बी, तू ख़ुदा का बेटा है! तू बादशाह का बादशाह है!"BSBBSB: “Rabbi,” Nathanael answered, “You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”
50. 50ULBईसा' ने जवाब में उससे कहा, "मैंने जो तुझ से कहा, 'तुझ को अंजीर के दरख़्त के नीचे देखा, 'क्या। तू इसीलिए ईमान लाया है? तू इनसे भी बड़े-बड़े मो'जिज़े देखेगा|"BSBBSB: Jesus said to him, “Do you believe just because I told you I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these.”
51. 51ULBफिर उससे कहा, “मैं तुम से सच कहता हूँ, कि आसमान को खुला और ख़ुदा के फ़रिश्तों को ऊपर जाते और इब्न-ए-आदम पर उतरते देखोगे।”BSBBSB: Then He declared, “Truly, truly, I tell you, you will all see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
