2 ULB तो वह सब बहुत ही डरे, क्यूँकि जिबा'ऊन एक बड़ा शहर बल्कि बादशाही शहरों में से एक की तरह और 'ए से बड़ा था और उसके सब मर्द बड़े बहादुर थे| BSB BSB: So Adoni-zedek and his people were greatly alarmed, because Gibeon was a great city, like one of the royal cities; it was larger than Ai, and all its men were mighty.
3 ULB इस लिए यरूशलीम के बादशाह अदूनी सिद्क़ ने हबरून के बादशाह हुहाम, और यरमूत के बादशाह पीराम, और लकीस के बादशाह याफ़ी' और अजलून के बादशाह दबीर को यूँ कहला भेजा कि| BSB BSB: Therefore Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent word to Hoham king of Hebron, Piram king of Jarmuth, Japhia king of Lachish, and Debir king of Eglon, saying,
4 ULB मेरे पास आओ और मेरी मदद करो और चलो हम जिबा'ऊन को मारें; क्यूँकि उस ने यशू'अ और बनीइस्राईल से सुलह कर ली है| BSB BSB: “Come up and help me. We will attack Gibeon, because they have made peace with Joshua and the Israelites.”
5 ULB इसलिए अमोरियों के पाँच बादशाह, या'नी यरूशलीम का बादशाह और हबरून का बादशाह और यरमूत का बादशाह और लकीस का बादशाह और 'अजलून का बादशाह इकठ्ठे हुए; और उन्होंने अपनी सब फ़ौजों के साथ चढ़ाई की और जिबा'ऊन के मुक़ाबिल डेरे डाल कर उस से जंग शुरू' की| BSB BSB: So the five kings of the Amorites—the kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon—joined forces and advanced with all their armies. They camped before Gibeon and made war against it.
7 ULB तब यशू'अ सब जंगी मर्दों और सब ज़बरदस्त सूरमाओं को हमराह लेकर जिलजाल से चल पड़ा| BSB BSB: So Joshua and his whole army, including all the mighty men of valor, came from Gilgal.
8 ULB और ख़ुदावन्द ने यशू'अ से कहा," उन से न डर इस लिए कि मैंने उनको तेरे क़ब्ज़े में कर दिया है; उन में से एक आदमी भी तेरे सामने खड़ा न रह सकेगा|” BSB BSB: The LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for I have delivered them into your hand. Not one of them shall stand against you.”
9 ULB तब यशू'अ रातों रात जिल्जाल से चल कर अचानक उन पर आ पड़ा| BSB BSB: After marching all night from Gilgal, Joshua caught them by surprise.
10 ULB और ख़ुदावन्द ने उनको बनीइस्राईल के सामने शिकस्त दी; और उस ने उनको जिबा'ऊन में बड़ी ख़ून रेज़ी के साथ क़त्ल किया और बैत हौरून की चढ़ाई के रास्ते पर उनको दौड़ाया और 'अजी़क़ाह और मुक़क़ीदा तक उनको मारता गया| BSB BSB: And the LORD threw them into confusion before Israel, who defeated them in a great slaughter at Gibeon, pursued them along the ascent to Beth-horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah.
13 ULB और सूरज ठहर गया और चाँद थमा रहा| जब तक क़ौम ने अपने दुश्मनों से अपना इन्तिक़ाम न ले लिया| क्या यह आशर की किताब में नहीं लिखा है?और सूरज आसमान के बीचो बीच ठहरा रहा, और तक़रीबन सारे दिन डूबने में जल्दी न की| BSB BSB: So the sun stood still and the moon stopped until the nation took vengeance upon its enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? “So the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.”
14 ULB और ऐसा दिन कभी उस से पहले हुआ और न उसके बा'द, जिस में ख़ुदावन्द ने किसी आदमी की बात सुनी हो; क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईलियों की ख़ातिर लड़ा| BSB BSB: There has been no day like it before or since, when the LORD listened to the voice of a man, because the LORD fought for Israel.
15 ULB फिर यशू'अ और उसके साथ सब इस्राईली जिलजाल को ख़ेमागाह में लौटे| BSB BSB: Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal.
16 ULB और वह पाँचों बादशाह भाग कर मुक़्क़ैदा के ग़ार में जा छिपे| BSB BSB: Now the five kings had fled and hidden in the cave at Makkedah.
17 ULB और यशू'अ को यह ख़बर मिली कि वह पाँचो बादशाह मुक़्क़ैदा के ग़ार में छिपे हुए मिले हैं| BSB BSB: And Joshua was informed: “The five kings have been found; they are hiding in the cave at Makkedah.”
18 ULB यशू'अ ने हुक्म किया कि बड़े बड़े पत्थर उस ग़ार के मुँह पर लुढ़का दो और आदमियों को उसके पास उनकी निगहबानी के लिए बिठा दो| BSB BSB: So Joshua said, “Roll large stones against the mouth of the cave, and post men there to guard them.
19 ULB लेकिन तुम न रुको, तुम अपने दुश्मनों का पीछा करो और उन में के जो जो पीछे रह गए ~हैं उनको मार डालो, उनको मोहलत न दो कि वह अपने अपने शहर में दाख़िल हों; इसलिए कि खुदावन्द तुम्हारे ख़ुदा ने उनको तुम्हारे क़ब्ज़े में कर दिया है| BSB BSB: But you, do not stop there. Pursue your enemies and attack them from behind. Do not let them reach their cities, for the LORD your God has delivered them into your hand.”
20 ULB और जब यशू'अ और बनी इस्राईल बड़ी ख़ूँरेज़ी के साथ उनको क़त्ल कर चुके, यहाँ तक कि वह हलाक-ओ-बर्बाद हो गये; और वह जो उन में से बाक़ी बचे फ़सील दार शहरों में दाख़िल हो गये| BSB BSB: So Joshua and the Israelites continued to inflict a terrible slaughter until they had finished them off, and the remaining survivors retreated to the fortified cities.
21 ULB तो सब लोग मुक़्क़ैदा में यशू'अ के पास लश्कर गाह को सलामत लौटे, और किसी ने बनीइस्राईल में से किसी के बरख़िलाफ़ ज़बान न हिलाई| BSB BSB: The whole army returned safely to Joshua in the camp at Makkedah, and no one dared to utter a word against the Israelites.
22 ULB फिर यशू'अ ने हुक्म दिया कि ग़ार का मुँह खोलो और उन पाँचों बादशाहों को ग़ार से बाहर निकाल कर मेरे पास लाओ BSB BSB: Then Joshua said, “Open the mouth of the cave and bring those five kings out to me.”
23 ULB उन्होंने ऐसा ही किया और वह पाँचों बादशाहों को या'नी शाह यरुशलीम और शाह-ए-हबरोन और शाह-ए-यारमोत और शाह-ए-लकीस और शाह-ए-अजलून को ग़ार से निकाल कर उसके पास लाये| BSB BSB: So they brought the five kings out of the cave—the kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon.
24 ULB और जब वह उनको यशू'अ के सामने लाये तो यशू'अ ने सब इस्राईलियों को बुलवाया और उन जंगी मर्दों के सरदारों से जो उसके साथ गये थे यह कहा कि नज़दीक आकर अपने अपने पाँव इन बादशाहों की गरदनों पर रखो| BSB BSB: When they had brought the kings to Joshua, he summoned all the men of Israel and said to the army commanders who had accompanied him, “Come here and put your feet on the necks of these kings.” So the commanders came forward and put their feet on their necks.
25 ULB और यशू'अ ने उन से कहा खौफ़ न करो और हिरासाँ मत हो मज़बूत हो जाओ और हौसला रखो इसलिए कि ख़ुदावन्द तुम्हारे सब दुश्मनों से जिनका मुक़ाबिला तुम करोगे ऐसा ही करेगा| BSB BSB: “Do not be afraid or discouraged,” Joshua said. “Be strong and courageous, for the LORD will do this to all the enemies you fight.”
26 ULB इसके बा'द यशू'अ ने उनको मारा और क़त्ल किया और पाँच दरख़्तों पर उनको टांग दिया| इसलिए वह शाम तक दरख़्तों पर टंगे रहे| BSB BSB: After this, Joshua struck down and killed the kings, and he hung their bodies on five trees and left them there until evening.
27 ULB और सूरज डूबते वक़्त उन्होंने यशू'अ के हुक्म से उनको दरख़्तों पर से उतार कर उसी ग़ार में जिस में वह जा छिपे थे डाल दिया, और ग़ार के मुँह पर बड़े बड़े पत्थर रख दिए जो आज तक हैं| BSB BSB: At sunset Joshua ordered that they be taken down from the trees and thrown into the cave in which they had hidden. Then large stones were placed against the mouth of the cave, and the stones are there to this day.
28 ULB और उसी दिन यशू'अ ने मुक़्क़ैदा को घेर कर के उसे हलाक किया, और उसके बादशाह को और उसके सब लोगों को बिल्कुल हलाक कर डाला और एक भी बाक़ी न छोड़ा; और मुक़्क़ैदा के बादशाह से उसने वही किया जो यरीहू के बादशाह से किया था| BSB BSB: On that day Joshua captured Makkedah and put it to the sword, along with its king. He devoted to destruction everyone in the city, leaving no survivors. So he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.
29 ULB फिर यशू'अ और उसके साथ सब इस्राईली मुक़्क़ैदा से लिबनाह को गये, और वह लिबनाह से लड़ा| BSB BSB: Then Joshua and all Israel with him moved on from Makkedah to Libnah and fought against Libnah.
30 ULB और ख़ुदावन्द ने उसको भी और उसके बादशाह को भी बनीइस्राईल के क़ब्ज़े में कर दिया; और उस ने उसे और उसके सब लोगों को हलाक किया और एक को भी बाक़ी न छोड़ा, और वहाँ के बादशाह से वैसा ही किया जो यरीहू के बादशाह से किया था| BSB BSB: And the LORD also delivered that city and its king into the hand of Israel, and Joshua put all the people to the sword, leaving no survivors. And he did to the king of Libnah as he had done to the king of Jericho.
31 ULB फिर लिबनाह से यशू'अ और उसके साथ सब इस्राईली लकीस को गये और उसके मुक़ाबिल डेरे डाल लिए और वह उस से लड़ा| BSB BSB: And Joshua and all Israel with him moved on from Libnah to Lachish. They laid siege to it and fought against it.
32 ULB और ख़ुदावन्द ने लकीस को इस्राईल के क़ब्ज़े में कर दिया उस ने दूसरे दिन उस पर फ़तह पायी और उसे हलाक किया और सब लोगों को जो उस में थे क़त्ल किया जिस तरह उस ने लिबनाह से किया था| BSB BSB: And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, and Joshua captured it on the second day. He put all the people to the sword, just as he had done to Libnah.
33 ULB उस वक़्त जज़र का बादशाह हुरम लकीस को मदद करने को आया~इसलिए यशू'अ ने उसको और उसके आदमियों को मारा यहाँ तक कि उसका एक भी जीता न छोड़ा|| BSB BSB: At that time Horam king of Gezer went to help Lachish, but Joshua struck him down along with his people, leaving no survivors.
34 ULB और यशू'अ और उसके साथ सब इस्राईली लकीस से 'अजलून को गये और उसके मुक़ाबिल डेरे डालकर उस से जंग शुरू' की| BSB BSB: So Joshua moved on from Lachish to Eglon, and all Israel with him. They laid siege to it and fought against it.
35 ULB और उसी दिन उसे घेर लिया उसे हलाक किया और उन सब लोगों को जो उस में थे उस ने उसी दिन बिल्कुल हलाक कर डाला जैसा उस ने लकीस से किया था| BSB BSB: That day they captured Eglon and put it to the sword, and Joshua devoted to destruction everyone in the city, just as he had done to Lachish.
36 ULB फिर 'अजलून से यशू'अ और उसके साथ सब इस्राईली हबरून को गये और उस से लड़े| BSB BSB: Then Joshua and all Israel with him went up from Eglon to Hebron and fought against it.
37 ULB और उन्होंने उसे घेर करके उसे और उसके बादशाह और उसकी सब बस्तियों और वहाँ के सब लोगों को बर्बाद किया और जैसा उस ने 'अजलून से किया था एक को भी जीता न छोड़ा बल्कि उसे और वहाँ के सब लोगों को बिल्कुल हलाक कर डाला| BSB BSB: They captured it and put to the sword its king, all its villages, and all the people. Joshua left no survivors, just as he had done at Eglon; he devoted to destruction Hebron and everyone in it.
38 ULB फिर यशू'अ और उसके साथ सब इस्राईली दबीर को लौटे और उससे लड़े| BSB BSB: Finally Joshua and all Israel with him turned toward Debir and fought against it.
39 ULB और उसने उसे और उसके बादशाह और उसकी सब बस्तियों को फ़तह कर लिया और उन्होंने उनको बर्बाद किया और सब लोगों को जो उस में थे बिल्कुल हलाक कर दिया उसने एक को भी बाक़ी न छोड़ा जैसा उसने हबरून और उसके बादशाह से किया था वैसा ही दबीर और उसके बादशाह से किया, ऐसा ही उस ने लिबनाह और उसके बादशाह से भी किया था| BSB BSB: And they captured Debir, its king, and all its villages. They put them to the sword and devoted to destruction everyone in the city, leaving no survivors. Joshua did to Debir and its king as he had done to Hebron and as he had done to Libnah and its king.
40 ULB तब यशू'अ ने सारे मुल्क को या'नी पहाड़ी मुल्क और दख्खिनी हिस्सा और नशीब की ज़मीन और ढलानों और वहाँ के सब बादशाहों को मारा| उस ने एक को भी जीता न छोड़ा बल्कि वहाँ के हर इन्सान को जैसा ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल के ख़ुदा ने हुक्म किया था बिल्कुल हलाक कर डाला| BSB BSB: So Joshua conquered the whole region—the hill country, the Negev, the foothills, and the slopes, together with all their kings—leaving no survivors. He devoted to destruction everything that breathed, just as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded.
41 ULB और यशू'अ ने उनको क़ादिस बरनी' से लेकर ग़ज़्ज़ा तक और जशन के सारे मुल्क के लोगों को जिबा'ऊन तक मारा| BSB BSB: Joshua conquered the area from Kadesh-barnea to Gaza, and the whole region of Goshen as far as Gibeon.
42 ULB और यशू'अ ने उन सब बादशाहों पर और उनके मुल्क पर एक ही वक़्त में क़ब्ज़ा हासिल किया इसलिए कि ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल का ख़ुदा इस्राईल की ख़ातिर लड़ा| BSB BSB: And because the LORD, the God of Israel, fought for Israel, Joshua captured all these kings and their land in one campaign.
43 ULB फिर यशू'अ और सब इस्राईली उसके साथ जिल्जाल को ख़ेमागाह में लौटे| BSB BSB: Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal.
