1 ULB उस वक़्त रूह "ईसा" को जंगल में ले गया ताकि इब्लीस से आज़माया जाए। BSB BSB: Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
2 ULB और चालीस दिन और चालीस रात फ़ाक़ा कर के आख़िर को उसे भूख लगी। BSB BSB: After fasting forty days and forty nights, He was hungry.
3 ULB और आज़माने वाले ने पास आकर उस से कहा “अगर तू "ख़ुदा" का बेटा है तो फ़रमा कि ये पत्थर रोटियाँ बन जाएँ।” BSB BSB: The tempter came to Him and said, “If You are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 ULB उस ने जवाब में कहा, “लिखा है आदमी सिर्फ़ रोटी ही से ज़िन्दा न रहेगा; बल्कि हर एक बात से जो "ख़ुदा" के मुँह से निकलती है।” BSB BSB: But Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
5 ULB तब इब्लीस उसे मुक़द्दस शहर में ले गया और हैकल के कंगूरे पर खड़ा करके उस से कहा। BSB BSB: Then the devil took Him to the holy city and set Him on the pinnacle of the temple.
6 ULB “अगर तू "ख़ुदा" का बेटा है तो अपने आपको नीचे गिरा दे; क्यूँकि लिखा है कि ‘वह तेरे बारे में अपने फ़रिश्तों को हुक्म देगा, और वह तुझे अपने हाथों पर उठा लेंगे ताकि ऐसा न हो कि तेरे पैर को पत्थर से ठेस लगे’।” BSB BSB: “If You are the Son of God,” he said, “throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He will command His angels concerning You, and they will lift You up in their hands, so that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’”
7 ULB ईसा' ने उस से कहा, “ये भी लिखा है; ‘तू ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा की आज़माइश न कर।’” BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
8 ULB फिर इब्लीस उसे एक बहुत ऊँचे पहाड़ पर ले गया, और दुनिया की सब सल्तनतें और उन की शान -ओ शौकत उसे दिखाई। BSB BSB: Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
9 ULB और उससे कहा कि अगर तू झुक कर मुझे सज्दा करे तो ये सब कुछ तुझे दे दूंगा BSB BSB: “All this I will give You,” he said, “if You will fall down and worship me.”
10 ULB ईसा' ने उस से कहा, “ऐ शैतान दूर हो क्यूंकि लिखा है, ‘तू ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा को सज्दा कर और सिर्फ़ उसी की 'इबादत कर|’” BSB BSB: “Away from Me, Satan!” Jesus told him. “For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’”
11 ULB तब इब्लीस उस के पास से चला गया; और देखो फ़रिश्ते आ कर उस की ख़िदमत करने लगे। BSB BSB: Then the devil left Him, and angels came and ministered to Him.
12 ULB जब उस ने सुना कि यूहन्ना पकड़वा दिया गया तो गलील को रवाना हुआ; BSB BSB: When Jesus heard that John had been imprisoned, He withdrew to Galilee.
13 ULB और नासरत को छोड़ कर कफ़रनहूम में जा बसा जो झील के किनारे ज़बलून और नफ़्ताली की सरहद पर है। BSB BSB: Leaving Nazareth, He went and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,
14 ULB ताकि जो यसा'याह नबी की मारफ़त कहा गया था, वो पूरा हो। BSB BSB: to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
15 ULB “ज़बूलून का इलाक़ा,और नफ़्ताली का इलाक़ा, दरिया की राह यर्दन के पार, ग़ैर क़ौमों की गलील: BSB BSB: “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles—
16 ULB या'नी जो लोग अन्धेरे में बैठे थे, उन्होंने बड़ी रौशनी देखी; और जो मौत के मुल्क और साये में बैठे थे, उन पर रोशनी चमकी।” BSB BSB: the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.”
17 ULB उस वक़्त से ईसा' ने एलान करना और ये कहना शुरू किया “तौबा करो, क्यूँकि आस्मान की बादशाही नज़दीक आ गई है।” BSB BSB: From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”
18 ULB उस ने गलील की झील के किनारे फिरते हुए दो भाइयों या'नी शमाऊन को जो पतरस कहलाता है; और उस के भाई अन्द्रियास को। झील में जाल डालते देखा, क्यूँकि वह मछली पकड़ने वाले थे। BSB BSB: As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
19 ULB और उन से कहा, “मेरे पीछे चले आओ, मैं तुम को आदमी पकड़ने वाला बनाऊँगा।” BSB BSB: “Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”
20 ULB वो फ़ौरन जाल छोड़ कर उस के पीछे हो लिए। BSB BSB: And at once they left their nets and followed Him.
21 ULB वहाँ से आगे बढ़ कर उस ने और दो भाइयों या'नी, ज़ब्दी के बेटे याक़ूब और उस के भाई यूहन्ना को देखा। कि अपने बाप ज़ब्दी के साथ नाव पर अपने जालों की मरम्मत कर रहे हैं। और उन को बुलाया। BSB BSB: Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. Jesus called them,
22 ULB वह फ़ौरन नाव और अपने बाप को छोड़ कर उस के पीछे हो लिए। BSB BSB: and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed Him.
24 ULB और उस की शोहरत पूरे सूब-ए-सूरिया में फैल गई, और लोग सब बिमारों को जो तरह तरह की बीमारियों और तक्लीफ़ों में गिरिफ़्तार थे; और उन को जिन में बदरूहें थी, और मिर्गी वालों और मफ़्लूजों को उस के पास लाए और उसने उन को अच्छा किया। BSB BSB: News about Him spread all over Syria, and people brought to Him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering acute pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and He healed them.
25 ULB और गलील, और दिकपुलिस, और यरूशलम, और यहूदिया और यर्दन के पार से बड़ी भीड़ उसके पीछे हो ली। BSB BSB: Large crowds followed Him, having come from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.
