1. 1URDOUCVاَور آدمؔ نے اَپنی بیوی حوّاؔ سے ہمبستری کی اَور وہ حاملہ ہُوئی، اَور حوّاؔ نے قائِنؔ کو پیدا کیا۔ حوّاؔ نے کہا، ”مُجھے یَاہوِہ کی طرف سے ایک فرزند عطا ہُواہے۔“BSBBSB: And Adam had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain. “With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man,” she said.
2. 2URDOUCVاُس کے بعد قائِنؔ کے بھایٔی ہابلؔ کو پیدا کیا۔ ہابلؔ بھیڑ بکریوں کا چرواہا تھا، اَور قائِنؔ کھیتی باڑی کرتا تھا۔BSBBSB: Later she gave birth to Cain’s brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, while Cain was a tiller of the soil.
3. 3URDOUCVکچھ عرصہ کے بعد قائِنؔ زمین کی پیداوار میں سے یَاہوِہ کے لیٔے ہدیہ لایا۔BSBBSB: So in the course of time, Cain brought some of the fruit of the soil as an offering to the LORD,
4. 4URDOUCVاَور ہابلؔ بھی اَپنی بھیڑ بکریوں کے چند پہلوٹھے بچّے اَور اُن کی چربی لے آیا، یَاہوِہ نے ہابلؔ اَور اُس کے ہدیہ کو قبُول کیا،BSBBSB: while Abel brought the best portions of the firstborn of his flock. And the LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering,
5. 5URDOUCVلیکن قائِنؔ اَور اُس کے ہدیہ کو منظُور نہیں کیا۔ لہٰذا قائِنؔ نہایت برہم ہُوا اَور اُس کا چہرہ اُتر گیا۔BSBBSB: but He had no regard for Cain and his offering. So Cain became very angry, and his countenance fell.
6. 6URDOUCVتَب یَاہوِہ نے قائِنؔ سے فرمایا، ”تُو کیوں برہم ہو گیا اَور تیرا چہرہ کِس لیٔے اُترا ہُواہے؟BSBBSB: “Why are you angry,” said the LORD to Cain, “and why has your countenance fallen?
7. 7URDOUCVاگر تُو بھلا کرے تو کیا تُو مقبُول نہ ہوگا؟ لیکن اگر تُو بھلا نہ کرے، تو گُناہ تیرے دروازہ پر دبکا بیٹھا ہے، اَور تُجھے دبوچ لینا چاہتاہے۔ لیکن تُجھے اُس پر غالب آنا چاہئے۔“BSBBSB: If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you refuse to do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires you, but you must master it.”
8. 8URDOUCVتَب قائِنؔ نے اَپنے بھایٔی ہابلؔ سے کہا، ”چلو ہم کھیت میں چلیں۔“ اَور جَب وہ کھیت میں تھے تو قائِنؔ نے اَپنے بھایٔی ہابلؔ پر حملہ کیا اَور اُسے قتل کر ڈالا۔BSBBSB: Then Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let us go out to the field.” And while they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.
9. 9URDOUCVتَب یَاہوِہ نے قائِنؔ سے فرمایا، ”تیرا بھایٔی ہابلؔ کہاں ہے؟“ اُس نے کہا، ”مُجھے مَعلُوم نہیں۔ کیا مَیں اَپنے بھایٔی کا نگہبان ہُوں؟“BSBBSB: And the LORD said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?” “I do not know!” he answered. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”
10. 10URDOUCVتَب یَاہوِہ نے فرمایا، ”تُونے یہ کیا کیا؟ تمہارے بھایٔی کا خُون زمین سے مُجھے پُکارتا ہے۔BSBBSB: “What have you done?” replied the LORD. “The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.
11. 11URDOUCVاَب تُجھ پر لعنت ہے اَور جِس زمین نے تمہارے ہاتھ سے تمہارے بھایٔی کا خُون لینے کے لیٔے اَپنا مُنہ کھولا تھا، اُس نے تُجھے دھتکار دیا ہے۔BSBBSB: Now you are cursed and banished from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.
12. 12URDOUCVجَب تُو زمین کو جوتے گا، تو وہ تُجھے اَپنی پیداوار نہیں دے گی؛ اَور تُو بےچین ہوکر زمین پر مارا مارا پھرتا رہے گا۔“BSBBSB: When you till the ground, it will no longer yield its produce to you. You will be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.”
13. 13URDOUCVقائِنؔ نے یَاہوِہ سے کہا، ”میری سزا میری برداشت سے باہر ہے۔BSBBSB: But Cain said to the LORD, “My punishment is greater than I can bear.
14. 14URDOUCVآج آپ مُجھے وطن سے نکال رہے ہیں اَور مَیں آپ کی حُضُوری سے روپوش ہو جاؤں گا اَور بےچین ہوکر رُوئے زمین پر مارا مارا پھرتا رہُوں گا اَورجو کویٔی مُجھے پایٔےگا، قتل کر ڈالے گا۔“BSBBSB: Behold, this day You have driven me from the face of the earth, and from Your face I will be hidden; I will be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.”
15. 15URDOUCVلیکن یَاہوِہ نے اُس سے فرمایا، ”اَیسا نہیں ہوگا، بَلکہ جو کویٔی قائِنؔ کو قتل کرےگا، اُس سے سات گُنا بدلہ لیا جائے گا۔“ تَب یَاہوِہ نے قائِنؔ پر ایک نِشان لگا دیا، تاکہ کویٔی اُسے پا کر قتل نہ کر دے۔BSBBSB: “Not so!” replied the LORD. “If anyone slays Cain, then Cain will be avenged sevenfold.” And the LORD placed a mark on Cain, so that no one who found him would kill him.
16. 16URDOUCVچنانچہ قائِنؔ یَاہوِہ کی حُضُوری سے نکل گیا اَور عدنؔ کے مشرق میں نودؔ کے علاقہ میں جا بسا۔BSBBSB: So Cain went out from the presence of the LORD and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
17. 17URDOUCVاَور قائِنؔ نے اَپنی بیوی سے ہمبستری کی اَور وہ حاملہ ہُوئی اَور اُس سے حنوخؔ پیدا ہُوا۔ تَب قائِنؔ نے ایک شہر بسایا اَور اُس کا نام اَپنے بیٹے کے نام پر حنوخؔ رکھا۔BSBBSB: And Cain had relations with his wife, and she conceived and gave birth to Enoch. Then Cain built a city and named it after his son Enoch.
18. 18URDOUCVحنوخؔ سے عیرادؔ پیدا ہُوا، اَور عیرادؔ سے مخُویاایلؔ پیدا ہُوا۔ اَور مخُویاایلؔ سے مِتھوشاایلؔ پیدا ہُوا، اَور مِتھوشاایلؔ سے لمکؔ پیدا ہُوا۔BSBBSB: Now to Enoch was born Irad, and Irad was the father of Mehujael, and Mehujael was the father of Methusael, and Methusael was the father of Lamech.
19. 19URDOUCVلمکؔ نے دو عورتوں سے شادی کی، اُن میں سے ایک کا نام عدہؔ اَور دُوسری کا ضِلّہؔ تھا۔BSBBSB: And Lamech married two women, one named Adah and the other Zillah.
20. 20URDOUCVعدہؔ کے ہاں یابلؔ پیدا ہُوا؛ وہ اُن کا باپ تھا جو خیموں میں رہتے تھے اَور مویشی پالتے تھے۔BSBBSB: Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and raise livestock.
21. 21URDOUCVاُس کے بھایٔی کا نام یُوبلؔ تھا۔ وہ اُن لوگوں کا باپ تھا جو بربط اَور بانسری بجاتے تھے۔BSBBSB: And his brother’s name was Jubal; he was the father of all who play the harp and flute.
22. 22URDOUCVضِلّہؔ کے ہاں بھی تُوبل قائِنؔ نامی بیٹا پیدا ہُوا جو کانسے اَور لوہے سے مُختلف قِسم کے اوزار بناتا تھا۔ نعمہؔ، تُوبل قائِنؔ کی بہن تھی۔BSBBSB: And Zillah gave birth to Tubal-cain, a forger of every implement of bronze and iron. And the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.
23. 23URDOUCVلمکؔ نے اَپنی بیویوں سے کہا، ”اَے عدہؔ اَور ضِلّہؔ! میری بات سُنو؛ اَے لمکؔ کی بیویو! میرے سُخن پر کان لگاؤ؛ مَیں نے ایک آدمی کو جِس نے مُجھے زخمی کیا تھا، مار ڈالا ہے، اَور چوٹ کھا کر ایک جَوان کو قتل کر دیا۔BSBBSB: Then Lamech said to his wives: “Adah and Zillah, hear my voice; wives of Lamech, listen to my speech. For I have slain a man for wounding me, a young man for striking me.
24. 24URDOUCVاگر قائِنؔ کا بدلہ سات گُنا لیا جائے گا، تو لمکؔ کا ستّر اَور سات گُنا۔“BSBBSB: If Cain is avenged sevenfold, then Lamech seventy-sevenfold.”
25. 25URDOUCVاَور آدمؔ پھر اَپنی بیوی کے پاس گیا اَور اُن کے یہاں بیٹا پیدا ہُوا اَور اُس کا نام شیتؔ رکھا اَور کہا، ”خُدا نے مُجھے ہابلؔ کی جگہ جسے قائِنؔ نے قتل کیا، دُوسرا فرزند عطا فرمایا۔“BSBBSB: And Adam again had relations with his wife, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, “God has granted me another seed in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.”
26. 26URDOUCVشیتؔ کے ہاں بھی ایک بیٹا پیدا ہُوا اَور اُس نے اُس کا نام انُوشؔ رکھا۔ اُس وقت سے لوگ یَاہوِہ کا نام لے کر دعا کرنے لگے۔BSBBSB: And to Seth also a son was born, and he called him Enosh. At that time men began to call upon the name of the LORD.
