1اِسی دَوران ہزاروں آدمیوں کا مجمع لگ گیا، اَور جَب وہ ایک دُوسرے پر گِرے پڑ رہے تھے، تو یِسوعؔ نے سَب سے پہلے اَپنے شاگردوں، سے مُخاطِب ہوکر فرمایا: ”فریسیوں کے خمیر یعنی اُن کی ریاکاری سے خبردار رہنا۔In the meantime, a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling one another. Jesus began to speak first to His disciples: “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

2کویٔی چیز ڈھکی ہویٔی نہیں جو ظاہر نہ کی جائے گی اَور نہ ہی کویٔی چیز چھپی ہویٔی ہے جو ظاہر نہ کی جائے۔There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, and nothing hidden that will not be made known.

3اِس لیٔے جو باتیں تُم نے اَندھیرے میں کہی ہیں وہ رَوشنی میں سُنی جایٔیں گی اَورجو کُچھ تُم نے کوٹھریوں میں کسی کے کان میں کہا ہے، اُس کا اعلان چھتوں پر سے کیا جائے گا۔What you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the housetops.

4”دوستوں، میں تُم سے کہتا ہُوں کہ اُن سے مت ڈرو جو بَدن کو تو ہلاک کر سکتے ہیں اَور اُس کے بعد اَور کُچھ نہیں کر سکتے۔I tell you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more.

5لیکن مَیں تُمہیں جتائے دیتا ہُوں کہ کس سے ڈرنا چاہئے: اُس سے، جسے بَدن کو ہلاک کرنے، کے بعد اُسے جہنّم میں ڈال دینے کا اِختیار ہے۔ ہاں، میں تُم سے کہتا ہُوں، اُسی سے ڈرو۔But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear the One who, after you have been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear Him!

6اگرچہ دو سِکّوں میں پانچ گوریّاں نہیں بکتیں لیکن خُدا اُن میں سے کسی کو بھی فراموش نہیں کرتا۔Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.

7یقیناً، تمہارے سَر کے سبھی بال بھی گنے ہُوئے ہیں۔ لہٰذا ڈرو مت؛ تمہاری قیمت تو بہت سِی گوریّوں سے بھی زِیادہ ہے۔And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

8”میں تُمہیں بتاتا ہُوں کہ جو کویٔی لوگوں کے سامنے میرا اقرار کرتا ہے، اِبن آدمؔ بھی خُدا کے فرشتوں کے رُوبرو اُس کا اقرار کرےگا۔I tell you, everyone who confesses Me before men, the Son of Man will also confess him before the angels of God.

9لیکن جو کویٔی آدمیوں کے سامنے میرا اِنکار کرتا ہے، اُس کا اِنکار خُدا کے فرشتوں کے سامنے کیا جائے گا۔But whoever denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.

10اگر کویٔی اِبن آدمؔ کے خِلاف کُچھ کہے گا تو، اُسے مُعاف کر دیا جائے گا لیکن جو پاک رُوح کے خِلاف کُفر بکے گا وہ ہرگز نہ بخشا جائے گا۔And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

11”جَب وہ تُمہیں یہُودی عبادت گاہوں میں حاکموں اَور صاحبِ اِختیاروں کے حُضُور میں لے جایٔیں تو فکر مت کرنا کہ ہم کیا کہیں اَور کیوں اَور کیسے جَواب دیں۔When you are brought before synagogues, rulers, and authorities, do not worry about how to defend yourselves or what to say.

12کیونکہ پاک رُوح عَین وقت پر تُمہیں سِکھا دے گا کہ تُمہیں کیا کہنا ہے۔“For at that time the Holy Spirit will teach you what you should say.”

13ہُجوم میں سے کسی نے اُن سے کہا، ”اَے اُستاد، میرے بھایٔی کو حُکم دے کہ وہ مِیراث میں سے میرا حِصّہ میرے حوالے کر دے۔“Someone in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

14یِسوعؔ نے جَواب دیا، ”اَے اِنسان، کس نے مُجھے تمہارا مُنصِف یا ثالِثی مُقرّر کیا ہے؟“But Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed Me judge or executor between you?”

15اَور حُضُور نے اُن سے کہا، ”خبردار! ہر طرح کے لالچ سے دُور رہو؛ کسی کی زندگی کا اِنحصار اُس کے مال و دولت کی کثرت پر نہیں ہے۔“And He said to them, “Watch out! Guard yourselves against every form of greed, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

16تَب آپ نے اُنہیں یہ تمثیل سُنایٔی: ”کسی دولتمند کی زمین میں بڑی فصل ہویٔی۔Then He told them a parable: “The ground of a certain rich man produced an abundance.

17اَور وہ دِل ہی دِل میں سوچ کر کہنے لگا، ’میں کیا کروں؟ میرے پاس جگہ نہیں ہے جہاں میں اَپنی پیداوار جمع کر سکوں۔‘So he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, since I have nowhere to store my crops?’

18”پھر اُس نے کہا، ’میں ایک کام کروں گا کہ اَپنے کھتّے ڈھا کر نئے اَور بڑے کھتّے بناؤں گا اَور اُس میں اَپنا تمام اناج اَور مال و اَسباب بھر دُوں گا۔Then he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and will build bigger ones, and there I will store up all my grain and my goods.

19پھر اَپنی جان سے کہُوں گا، ”اَے جان تیرے پاس کیٔی برسوں کے لیٔے مال جمع ہے۔ آرام سے رہ، کھا پی اَور عیش کر۔“ ‘Then I will say to myself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take it easy. Eat, drink, and be merry!”’

20”مگر خُدا نے اُس سے کہا، ’اَے نادان! اِسی رات تیری جان تُجھ سے طلب کرلی جائے گی۔ پس جو کُچھ تُونے جمع کیا ہے وہ کس کے کام آئے گا؟‘But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be required of you. Then who will own what you have accumulated?’

21”چنانچہ جو اَپنے لیٔے تو خزانہ جمع کرتا ہے لیکن خُدا کی نظر میں دولتمند نہیں بنتا اُس کا بھی یہی حال ہوگا۔“This is how it will be for anyone who stores up treasure for himself but is not rich toward God.”

22تَب یِسوعؔ نے اَپنے شاگردوں سے کہا: ”یہی وجہ ہے کہ میں تُم سے کہتا ہُوں، نہ تو اَپنی جان کی فکر کرو، کہ تُم کیا کھاؤگے؛ نہ اَپنے بَدن کی، کہ تُم کیا پہنوگے۔Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear.

23کیونکہ جان خُوراک سے اَور بَدن پوشاک سے بڑھ کر ہے۔For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.

24کوّوں پر غور کرو جو نہ تو بوتے ہیں اَور نہ ہی فصل کو کاٹ کر کھتّوں میں جمع کرتے ہیں، نہ اُن کے پاس گودام ہوتاہے نہ کھتّا، تو بھی خُدا اُنہیں کھِلاتاہے۔ تُم تو پرندوں سے بھی زِیادہ قدر و قیمت والے ہو۔Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storehouse or barn; yet God feeds them. How much more valuable you are than the birds!

25تُم میں اَیسا کون ہے جو فکر کرکے اَپنی عمر میں گھڑی بھر کا بھی اِضافہ کر سکے؟Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

26پس جَب تُم یہ چُھوٹی سِی بات بھی نہیں کر سکتے تو باقی چیزوں کی فکر کس لیٔے کرتے ہو۔So if you cannot do such a small thing, why do you worry about the rest?

27”سوسن کے پھُولوں کو دیکھو کہ وہ کس طرح بڑھتے ہیں؟ وہ نہ محنت کرتے ہیں نہ کاتتے ہیں تو بھی میں تُم سے کہتا ہُوں کہ بادشاہ شُلومونؔ بھی اَپنی ساری شان و شوکت کے باوُجُود اُن میں سے کسی کی طرح مُلبّس نہ تھے۔Consider how the lilies grow: They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these.

28پس جَب خُدا میدان کی گھاس کو جو آج ہے اَور کل تنور میں جھونکی جاتی ہے، اَیسی پوشاک پہناتاہے، تو اَے کم ایمان والو! کیا وہ تُمہیں بہتر پوشاک نہ پہنائے گا؟If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith!

29اَور اِس فکر میں مُبتلا مت رہو کہ تُم کیا کھاؤگے اَور کیا پیوگے۔ اِن چیزوں کے بارے میں فکر مت کرو۔And do not be concerned about what you will eat or drink. Do not worry about it.

30کیونکہ دُنیا کی ساری غَیرقومیں اِن چیزوں کی جُستُجو میں لگی رہتی ہیں لیکن تمہارا آسمانی باپ جانتا ہے کہ تُمہیں اِن چیزوں کی ضروُرت ہے۔For the Gentiles of the world strive after all these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

31بَلکہ پہلے خُدا کی بادشاہی کی تلاش کرو تو یہ چیزیں بھی تُمہیں دے دی جایٔیں گی۔But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added unto you.

32”اَے چُھوٹے گلّے! ڈر مت! کیونکہ تمہارے آسمانی باپ کی خُوشی اِسی میں ہے کہ وہ تُمہیں بادشاہی عطا فرمائے۔Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.

33اَپنا مال و اَسباب بیچ کر خیرات کر دو اَور اَپنے لیٔے اَیسے بٹوے بناؤ جو پُرانے نہیں ہوتے اَور نہ پھٹتے ہیں یعنی آسمان پر خزانہ جمع کرو جو ختم نہیں ہوتا، جہاں چور نہیں پہُنچ سَکتا اَور جِس میں کیڑا نہیں لگتا۔Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide yourselves with purses that will not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

34کیونکہ جہاں تمہارا خزانہ ہے وہیں تمہارا دِل بھی لگا رہے گا۔For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

35”خدمت کے لیٔے کمربستہ رہو اَور اَپنا چراغ جَلائے رکھو۔Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning.

36اَور اُن خادِموں کی طرح بنو، جو اَپنے مالک کی شادی کی ضیافت سے لَوٹنے کا اِنتظار کر رہے ہوں تاکہ جَب وہ آئے اَور دروازہ کھٹکھٹائے تو فوراً اُس کے لیٔے دروازہ کھول دیں۔Then you will be like servants waiting for their master to return from the wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks, they can open the door for him at once.

37وہ سبھی خادِم مُبارک ہیں جنہیں اُن کا مالک اَپنی واپسی پر جاگتا ہُوا چَوکَس پایٔے۔ میں تُم سے سچ کہتا ہُوں کہ وہ مالک خُود کمربستہ ہوکر اُنہیں دسترخوان پر بِٹھاتے گا اَور پاس آکر اُن کی خدمت کرےگا۔Blessed are those servants whom the master finds on watch when he returns. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve and will have them recline at the table, and he himself will come and wait on them.

38مُبارک ہیں وہ خادِم، جنہیں اُن کا مالک رات کے دُوسرے یا تیسرے پہر میں بھی آکر اُن کو خُوب چَوکَس پایٔے۔Even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night and finds them alert, those servants will be blessed.

39لیکن یہ جان لو کہ اگر گھر کے مالک کو مَعلُوم ہو تاکہ چور کِس گھڑی آئے گا تو وہ اَپنے گھر میں نقب نہ لگنے دیتا۔But understand this: If the homeowner had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into.

40پس تُم بھی تیّار رہو کیونکہ جِس گھڑی تُمہیں اُمّید تک نہ ہوگی اِبن آدمؔ اُسی وقت آ جائے گا۔“You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour you do not expect.”

41پطرس نے کہا، ”اَے خُداوؔند، یہ تمثیل جو تُونے کہی، صِرف ہمارے لیٔے ہے یا سَب کے لیٔے ہے؟““Lord,” said Peter, “are You addressing this parable to us, or to everyone else as well?”

42خُداوؔند نے جَواب دیا، ”کون ہے وہ وفادار اَور عقلمند مُنتظِم، جِس کا مالک اُسے اَپنے گھر کے خادِم چاکروں پر مُقرّر کرے تاکہ وہ اُنہیں اُن کی خُوراک مُناسب وقت پر بانٹتا رہے؟And the Lord answered, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their portion at the proper time?

43وہ خادِم مُبارک ہے جِس کا مالک آئے تو اُسے اَیسا ہی کرتے پایٔے۔Blessed is that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.

44میں تُم سے سچ کہتا ہُوں کہ وہ اَپنی ساری مِلکیّت کی دیکھ بھال کا اِختیار اُس کے حوالے کر دے گا۔Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.

45لیکن اگر وہ خادِم اَپنے دِل میں یہ کہنے لگے، ’میرے مالک کے آنے میں ابھی دیر ہے‘ اَور دُوسرے خادِموں اَور خادِماؤں کو مارنا پیٹنا شروع کر دے اَور خُود کھا پی کرنشے میں متوالا رہنے لگے؟But suppose that servant says in his heart, ‘My master will be a long time in coming,’ and he begins to beat the menservants and maidservants, and to eat and drink and get drunk.

46تو اُس خادِم کا مالک کسی اَیسے دِن واپس آ جائے گا، جِس کی اُسے اُمّید نہ ہوگی، اَور جِس گھڑی کی اُسے خبر نہ ہوگی۔ تو وہ اُسے غضبناک سزا دے گا اَور اُس کا اَنجام بےاِعتقادوں جَیسا ہوگا۔The master of that servant will come on a day he does not expect and at an hour he does not anticipate. Then he will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.

47”اگر وہ خادِم جو اَپنے مالک کی مرضی جان لینے کے باوُجُود بھی تیّار نہیں رہتا اَور نہ ہی اَپنے مالک کی مرضی کے مُطابق عَمل کرتا ہے تو وہ خادِم بہت مار کھائے گا۔That servant who knows his master’s will but does not get ready or follow his instructions will be beaten with many blows.

48مگر جِس نے اَپنے مالک کی مرضی کو جانے بغیر مار کھانے کے کام کیٔے وہ کم مار کھائے گا۔ پس جسے زِیادہ دیا گیا ہے اُس سے اُمّید بھی زِیادہ کی جائے گی اَور جِس کے پاس زِیادہ سونپا گیا ہے اُس سے طلب بھی زِیادہ ہی کیا جائے گا۔But the one who unknowingly does things worthy of punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and from him who has been entrusted with much, even more will be demanded.

49”میں زمین پر آگ برسانے آیا ہُوں۔ کاش یہ پہلے سے ہی بھڑک رہی ہوتی تو کِتنا اَچھّا ہوتا!I have come to ignite a fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!

50لیکن مُجھے ایک پاک غُسل لیناہے اَور جَب تک لے نہیں لیتا، میں بہت درد میں رہُوں گا!But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!

51کیا تُم سوچتے ہو کہ میں زمین پر صُلح قائِم کرانے آیا ہُوں؟ نہیں، میں تو لوگوں کو ایک دُوسرے سے جُدا کرانے آیا ہُوں۔Do you think that I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I tell you, but division.

52کیونکہ اَب سے ایک گھر کے ہی پانچ آدمیوں میں مُخالفت پیدا ہو جائے گی۔ تین، دو کے اَور دو، تین کے مُخالف ہو جایٔیں گے۔From now on, five in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three.

53باپ بیٹے کے خِلاف ہوگا اَور بیٹا باپ کے؛ اَور ماں بیٹی کے، اَور بیٹی ماں کے؛ ساس بہُو کے اَور بہُو ساس کے خِلاف ہوگی۔“They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”

54پھر یِسوعؔ نے ہُجوم سے کہا: ”جَب تُم بادل کو مغرب سے اُٹھتے دیکھتے تو ایک دَم کہنے لگتے ہو ’بارش آئے گی،‘ اَور اَیسا ہی ہوتاہے۔Then Jesus said to the crowds, “As soon as you see a cloud rising in the west, you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and that is what happens.

55اَور جَب جُنوبی ہَوا چلنے لگتی ہے، تو تُم کہتے ہو، ’گرمی ہوگی،‘ اَور اَیسا ہی ہوتاہے۔And when the south wind blows, you say, ‘It will be hot,’ and it is.

56اَے ریاکاروں! تُم زمین اَور آسمان کی صورت دیکھ کر موسم کا اَندازہ لگانا تو جانتے ہو لیکن مَوجُودہ زمانہ کی علامات کے بارے میں کیوں غور نہیں کرتے؟You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and sky. Why don’t you know how to interpret the present time?

57”تُم خُود ہی اَپنے لیٔے فیصلہ کیوں نہیں کرلیتے کہ ٹھیک کیا ہے؟And why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?

58جَب تو اَپنے دُشمن کے ساتھ مُنصِف کے پاس راستہ میں جا رہاہے تو راستہ ہی میں اُس سے چھُٹکارا حاصل کر لے، کہیں اَیسا نہ ہو کہ وہ تُجھے مُنصِف کے حوالے کر دے اَور مُنصِف تُجھے سپاہی کے سُپرد کر دے اَور سپاہی تُجھے قَیدخانہ میں ڈال دے۔Make every effort to reconcile with your adversary while you are on your way to the magistrate. Otherwise, he may drag you off to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and the officer may throw you into prison.

59میں تُم سے کہتا ہُوں کہ جَب تک تُم ایک ایک پیسہ اَدا نہ کر دوگے، وہاں سے ہرگز نکل نہ پاؤگے۔“I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the very last penny.”
