1. 1URDOUCVیِسوعؔ ہیرودیسؔ بادشاہ کے زمانہ میں یہُودیؔہ کے شہر بیت لحمؔ میں پیدا ہویٔے، تو مشرق سے کیٔی مجُوسِی یروشلیمؔ پہُنچ کرBSBBSB: After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,
2. 2URDOUCVپُوچھنے لگے، ”یہُودیوں کا بادشاہ جو پیدا ہُواہے، وہ کہاں ہے؟ کیونکہ مشرق میں ہم نے حُضُور کی آمد کا ستارہ دیکھ کر اُنہیں سَجدہ کرنے کے واسطے آئے ہیں۔“BSBBSB: asking, “Where is the One who has been born King of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
3. 3URDOUCVجَب ہیرودیسؔ بادشاہ نے یہ بات سُنی تو وہ اَور اُس کے ساتھ سَب یروشلیمؔ کے لوگ گھبرا گیٔے۔BSBBSB: When King Herod heard this, he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.
4. 4URDOUCVاَور ہیرودیسؔ نے قوم کے سَب اہم کاہِنوں اَور شَریعت کے عالِموں، کو جمع کرکے اُن سے پُوچھا کہ حضرت المسیح کی پیدائش کہاں ہونی چاہئے۔BSBBSB: And when he had assembled all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ was to be born.
5. 5URDOUCVاُنہُوں نے جَواب دیا، ”یہُودیؔہ کے بیت لحمؔ میں، کیونکہ نبی کی مَعرفت یُوں لِکھّا گیا ہے:BSBBSB: “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
6. 6URDOUCV” ’لیکن اَے بیت لحمؔ، تُو جو یہُوداہؔ کے علاقہ میں ہے، تُو یہُوداہؔ کے حاکموں میں ہرگز کمترین نہیں؛ کیونکہ تُجھ میں سے ایک اَیسا حاکم برپا ہوگا جو میری اُمّت اِسرائیلؔ کی گلّہ بانی کرےگا۔‘“BSBBSB: ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah, for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of My people Israel.’”
7. 7URDOUCVتَب ہیرودیسؔ نے مجُوسیوں کو چُپکے سے بُلاکر اُن سے سِتارے کے نموُدار ہونے کا ٹھیک وقت دریافت کیا۔BSBBSB: Then Herod called the Magi secretly and learned from them the exact time the star had appeared.
8. 8URDOUCVاَور اُنہیں یہ کہہ کر بیت لحمؔ بھیجا، ”جاؤ اُس بچّے کا ٹھیک ٹھیک پتہ کرو اَور جَب وہ تُمہیں مِل جائے تو مُجھے بھی خبر دو تاکہ میں بھی جا کر اُسے سَجدہ کروں۔“BSBBSB: And sending them to Bethlehem, he said: “Go and search carefully for the Child, and when you find Him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship Him.”
9. 9URDOUCVوہ بادشاہ کی بات سُن کر روانہ ہُوئے اَور وہ ستارہ جو اُنہیں مشرق میں دِکھائی دیا تھا، اُن کے آگے آگے چلنے لگا یہاں تک کہ اُس جگہ کے اُوپر جا ٹھہرا جہاں وہ بچّہ مَوجُود تھا۔BSBBSB: After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stood over the place where the Child was.
10. 10URDOUCVسِتارے، کو دیکھ کر اُنہیں بڑی خُوشی ہُوئی۔BSBBSB: When they saw the star, they rejoiced with great delight.
11. 11URDOUCVتَب وہ اُس گھر میں داخل ہُوئے اَور بچّے کو اُس کی ماں حضرت مریمؔ کے پاس جا کر اُن کے آگے جھک کر سَجدہ کیا اَور اَپنے ڈِبّے کھول کر سونا، لوبان اَور مُر اُس کو نذر کیا۔BSBBSB: On coming to the house, they saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh.
12. 12URDOUCVاَور خواب میں ہیرودیسؔ کے پاس پھر نہ جانے کی ہدایت پا کر وہ کسی دُوسرے راستے سے اَپنے مُلک واپس چلے گیٔے۔BSBBSB: And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they withdrew to their country by another route.
13. 13URDOUCVاُن کے چلے جانے کے بعد، خُداوؔند کے ایک فرشتہ نے حضرت یُوسیفؔ کو خواب میں دِکھائی دے کر حُکم دیا، ”اُٹھو، بچّے اَور اُس کی ماں کو ساتھ لے کر مِصر بھاگ جاؤ اَور میرے کہنے تک وہیں رہنا، کیونکہ ہیرودیسؔ اِس بچّے کو ڈھونڈ کر ہلاک کرنا چاہتاہے۔“BSBBSB: When the Magi had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”
14. 14URDOUCVچنانچہ وہ اُٹھے اَور بچّے اَور اُس کی ماں کو ساتھ لے کر راتوں رات مِصر کو روانہ ہو گیٔے،BSBBSB: So he got up, took the Child and His mother by night, and withdrew to Egypt,
15. 15URDOUCVاَور ہیرودیسؔ کی وفات تک وہیں رہے تاکہ جو بات خُداوؔند نے نبی کی مَعرفت کہی تھی وہ پُوری ہو جائے: ”میں اَپنے بیٹے کو مِصر سے بُلایا۔“BSBBSB: where he stayed until the death of Herod. This fulfilled what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”
16. 16URDOUCVجَب ہیرودیسؔ کو مَعلُوم ہُوا کہ مجُوسیوں نے اُس کے ساتھ دغابازی کی ہے، تو اُسے بہت غُصّہ آیا، اَور مجُوسیوں سے مِلی اِطّلاع کے مُطابق اُس نے بیت لحمؔ اَور اُس کی سَب سرحدوں کے اَندر سپاہی بھیج کر تمام لڑکوں کو جو دو سال یا اُس سے کم عمر کے تھے، قتل کروا دیا۔BSBBSB: When Herod saw that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was filled with rage. Sending orders, he put to death all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, according to the time he had learned from the Magi.
17. 17URDOUCVاِس طرح یرمیاہؔ نبی کی پیشن گوئی پُوری ہُوئی:BSBBSB: Then what was spoken through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:
18. 18URDOUCV”رامہؔ شہر میں ایک آواز سُنایٔی دی، رونے، چِلّانے اَور شدید ماتم کی آوازیں، راخلؔ اَپنے بچّوں کے لیٔے رو رہی ہے اَور تسلّی قبُول نہیں کر رہی، کیونکہ وہ ہلاک ہو چُکے ہیں۔“BSBBSB: “A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.”
19. 19URDOUCVہیرودیسؔ کی موت کے بعد خُداوؔند کے ایک فرشتہ نے مِصر میں حضرت یُوسیفؔ کو خواب میں دِکھائی دے کر فرمایا،BSBBSB: After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt.
20. 20URDOUCV”اُٹھو، بچّے اَور اُس کی ماں کو ساتھ لے کر اِسرائیلؔ کے مُلک میں چلے جاؤ کیونکہ جو لوگ بچّے کو جان سے مار ڈالنا چاہتے تھے اَب وہ مَر چُکے ہیں۔“BSBBSB: “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and go to the land of Israel, for those seeking the Child’s life are now dead.”
21. 21URDOUCVلہٰذا حضرت یُوسیفؔ اُٹھے اَور بچّے اَور اُس کی ماں کو لے کر اِسرائیلؔ کے مُلک میں لَوٹ آئے۔BSBBSB: So Joseph got up, took the Child and His mother, and went to the land of Israel.
22. 22URDOUCVمگر یہ سُن کر کہ اَرخِلاؤسؔ اَپنے باپ ہیرودیسؔ کی جگہ پر یہُودیؔہ میں بادشاہی کر رہاہے، تو یُوسیفؔ وہاں جانے سے ڈرے اَور خواب میں ہدایت پا کر صُوبہ گلِیل کے علاقہ کو روانہ ہویٔے۔BSBBSB: But when he learned that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,
23. 23URDOUCVوہاں پہُنچ کر ناصرتؔ نام ایک شہر میں رہنے لگے تاکہ جو بات نبیوں کی مَعرفت کہی گئی تھی وہ پُوری ہو: وہ ناصری کہلائے گا۔BSBBSB: and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophets: “He will be called a Nazarene.”
