1اَور یِسوعؔ پھر اُن سے تمثیلوں میں کہنے لگے:Once again, Jesus spoke to them in parables:

2”آسمان کی بادشاہی ایک بادشاہ کی مانِند ہے جِس نے اَپنے بیٹے کی شادی کی دعوت دی۔“The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son.

3اَپنے غُلاموں کو بھیجا کہ وہ اُن لوگوں کو جنہیں شادی کی دعوت دی گئی تھی، بُلا لائیں، لیکن اُنہُوں نے آنے سے منع کر دیا۔He sent his servants to call those he had invited to the banquet, but they refused to come.

4”پھر اُس نے اَور غُلاموں کو یہ کہہ کر روانہ کیا، ’جنہیں مَیں نے دعوت دی ہے اُنہیں کہو کہ کھانا تیّار ہو چُکاہے: میرے بَیل اَور موٹے موٹے جانور ذبح کئے جا چُکے ہیں اَور سَب کُچھ تیّار ہے۔ شادی کی دعوت میں شریک ہونے کے لیٔے آ جاؤ۔‘Again, he sent other servants and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner. My oxen and fattened cattle have been killed, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’

5”لیکن اُنہُوں نے کویٔی پروا نہ کی اَور چل دئیے۔ کویٔی اَپنے کھیت میں چلا گیا، کویٔی اَپنے کاروبار میں لگ گیا،But they paid no attention and went away, one to his field, another to his business.

6باقیوں نے اُس کے غُلاموں کو پکڑکر اُن کی بے عزّتی کی اَور جان سے مار بھی ڈالا۔The rest seized his servants, mistreated them, and killed them.

7بادشاہ بہت غضبناک ہُوا۔ اُس نے اَپنے سپاہی بھیج کر اُن خُونیوں کو ہلاک کروا دیا اَور اُن کے شہر کو جَلا دیا۔The king was enraged, and he sent his troops to destroy those murderers and burn their city.

8”تَب اُس نے اَپنے غُلاموں سے کہا، ’شادی کی ضیافت تیّار ہے، لیکن جو بُلائے گیٔے تھے وہ اِس کے لائق نہ تھے۔Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited were not worthy.

9اِس لیٔے چوراہوں پر جاؤ اَور جتنے تُمہیں ملیں اُن سَب کو ضیافت میں بُلا لاؤ۔‘Go therefore to the crossroads and invite to the banquet as many as you can find.’

10لہٰذا وہ غُلام گیٔے اَور جتنے بُرے بھلے اُنہیں ملے، سَب کو جمع کرکے لے آئے اَور شادی خانہ مہمانوں سے بھر گیا۔So the servants went out into the streets and gathered everyone they could find, both evil and good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

11”اَور جَب بادشاہ مہمانوں کو دیکھنے اَندر آیا تو اُس کی نظر ایک آدمی پر پڑی جو شادی کے لباس میں نہ تھا۔But when the king came in to see the guests, he spotted a man who was not dressed in wedding clothes.

12بادشاہ نے اُس سے پُوچھا، ’دوست، تُم شادی کا لباس پہنے بغیر یہاں کیسے چلے آئے؟‘ لیکن اُس کے پاس اِس کا کویٔی جَواب نہ تھا۔‘Friend,’ he asked, ‘how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ But the man was speechless.

13”اِس پر بادشاہ نے اَپنے خادِموں سے فرمایا، ’اِس کے ہاتھ پاؤں باندھ کر اِسے باہر اَندھیرے میں ڈال دو، جہاں وہ روتا اَور دانت پیستا رہے گا۔‘Then the king told the servants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

14”کیونکہ بُلائے ہُوئے تو بہت ہیں، مگر چُنے ہُوئے کم ہیں۔“For many are called, but few are chosen.”

15تَب فرِیسی وہاں سے چلے گیٔے اَور آپَس میں مشورہ کیا کہ حُضُور کو کیسے باتوں میں پھنسائیں۔Then the Pharisees went out and conspired to trap Jesus in His words.

16لہٰذا اُنہُوں نے اَپنے بعض شاگرد اَور ہیرودیوں کے سیاسی گِروہ کے ساتھ کُچھ آدمی یِسوعؔ کے پاس بھیجے۔ اُنہُوں نے کہا، ”اَے اُستاد محترم، ہم جانتے ہیں کہ آپ سچ بولتے ہیں اَور یہ خیال کیٔے بغیر کہ کون کیا ہے، راستی سے خُدا کی راہ پر چلنے کی تعلیم دیتے ہیں۔They sent their disciples to Him along with the Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that You are honest and that You teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You seek favor from no one, because You pay no attention to external appearance.

17اِس لیٔے ہمیں بتائیں کہ آپ کی رائے میں قَیصؔر کو محصُول اَدا کرنا روا ہے یا نہیں؟“So tell us what You think: Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”

18یِسوعؔ اُن کی منافقت کو سمجھ گیٔے اَور فرمایا، ”اَے ریاکاروں! مُجھے کیوں آزماتے ہو؟But Jesus knew their evil intent and said, “You hypocrites, why are you testing Me?

19جو سِکّہ محصُول کے طور پر دیتے ہو اُسے مُجھے دِکھاؤ۔“ وہ ایک دینار لے آئے۔Show Me the coin used for the tax.” And they brought Him a denarius.

20حُضُور نے اُن سے پُوچھا، ”اِس دینار پر کِس کی صورت اَور کِس کا نام لِکھّا ہُواہے؟““Whose image is this,” He asked, “and whose inscription?”

21اُنہُوں نے جَواب دیا، ”قَیصؔر کا۔“ تَب حُضُور نے اُن سے فرمایا، ”جو قَیصؔر کا ہے وہ قَیصؔر کو اَورجو خُدا کا ہے، وہ خُدا کو اَدا کرو۔““Caesar’s,” they answered. So Jesus told them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”

22اَور وہ یہ جَواب سُن کر، حیران رہ گیٔے اَور حُضُور کو چھوڑکر چلے گیٔے۔And when they heard this, they were amazed. So they left Him and went away.

23اُسی دِن صدُوقی جو قیامت کے مُنکر ہیں، یِسوعؔ کے پاس آئے۔That same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Jesus and questioned Him.

24اَور آپ سے یہ سوال کیا، ”اَے اُستاد محترم، حضرت مَوشہ نے فرمایاہے کہ اگر کویٔی آدمی بے اَولاد مَر جائے تو اُس کا بھایٔی اُس کی بِیوہ سے شادی کر لے تاکہ اَپنے بھایٔی کے لیٔے نَسل پیدا کر سکے۔“Teacher,” they said, “Moses declared that if a man dies without having children, his brother is to marry the widow and raise up offspring for him.

25ہمارے یہاں سات بھایٔی تھے۔ پہلے نے شادی کی اَور بے اَولاد مَر گیا، وہ اَپنی بیوی اَپنے بھایٔی کے لیٔے چھوڑ گیا تاکہ وہ اُس کی بیوی بَن جائے۔Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died without having children. So he left his wife to his brother.

26یہی واقعہ اُس کے دُوسرے اَور تیسرے اَور ساتویں بھایٔی تک ہوتا رہا۔The same thing happened to the second and third brothers, down to the seventh.

27اَور آخِرکار، وہ عورت بھی مَر گئی۔And last of all, the woman died.

28اَب یہ بتائیں کہ قیامت کے دِن وہ اُن ساتوں میں سے کِس کی بیوی ہوگی کیونکہ اُن سَب نے اُس سے شادی کی تھی؟“In the resurrection, then, whose wife will she be of the seven? For all of them were married to her.”

29یِسوعؔ نے جَواب دیا، ”تُم گُمراہ ہو گئے ہو کہ تُم نہ تو کِتاب مُقدّس کو ہی جانتے ہو اَور نہ ہی خُدا کی قُدرت کو۔Jesus answered, “You are mistaken because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.

30کیونکہ جَب قیامت ہوگی تو لوگ شادی نہیں کریں گے اَور نہ ہی نکاح میں دئیے جایٔیں گے؛ لیکن آسمان پر فرشتوں کی مانِند ہوں گے۔In the resurrection, people will neither marry nor be given in marriage. Instead, they will be like the angels in heaven.

31اَور جہاں تک قیامت یعنی مُردوں کے جی اُٹھنے کا سوال ہے، تو کیا تُم نے وہ جو خُدا نے تُم سے فرمایاہے نہیں پڑھا کہBut concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what God said to you:

32’میں اَبراہامؔ، اِصحاقؔ اَور یعقوب کا خُدا ہُوں؟‘ یعنی وہ مُردوں کا نہیں لیکن زندوں کا خُدا ہے۔“‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

33ہُجوم حُضُور کی یہ تعلیم سُن کر حیران رہ گیٔے۔When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at His teaching.

34جَب فریسیوں نے سُنا کہ یِسوعؔ نے صدُوقیوں کا مُنہ بند کر دیا تو وہ جمع ہُوئے۔And when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they themselves gathered together.

35اَور اُن میں سے ایک جو شَریعت کا عالِم تھا، یِسوعؔ کو آزمانے کی غرض سے پُوچھا:One of them, an expert in the law, tested Him with a question:

36”اَے اُستاد محترم، توریت میں سَب سے بڑا حُکم کون سا ہے؟““Teacher, which commandment is the greatest in the Law?”

37یِسوعؔ نے جَواب دیا: ” ’تُم خُداوؔند اَپنے خُدا سے اَپنے سارے دِل، اَپنی ساری جان اَور اَپنی ساری عقل سے مَحَبّت رکھو۔‘Jesus declared, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

38سَب سے بڑا اَور پہلا حُکم یہی ہے۔This is the first and greatest commandment.

39اَور دُوسرا جو اِس کی مانِند ہے: ’تُم اَپنے پڑوسی سے اَپنی مانِند مَحَبّت رکھنا۔‘And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

40ساری شَریعت اَور نبیوں کے صحائف اِن ہی دو حُکموں پر زور دیتے ہیں۔“All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

41جَب فرِیسی وہاں جمع تھے تو یِسوعؔ نے اُن سے پُوچھا،While the Pharisees were assembled, Jesus questioned them:

42”المسیح کے بارے میں تمہارا کیا خیال ہے؟ وہ کِس کا بیٹا ہے؟“ اُنہُوں نے جَواب دیا، ”داویؔد کا بیٹا ہے۔““What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is He?” “David’s,” they answered.

43حُضُور نے اُن سے پُوچھا، ”پھر داویؔد پاک رُوح کی ہدایت سے، اُسے ’خُداوؔند‘ کیوں کہتے ہیں؟ کیونکہ داویؔد فرماتے ہیں،Jesus said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord’? For he says:

44” ’خُداتعالیٰ نے میرے خُداوؔند سے کہا: ”میری داہنی طرف بیٹھو جَب تک کہ مَیں تمہارے دُشمنوں کو تمہارے پاؤں کے نیچے نہ کر دُوں۔“ ‘‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand until I put Your enemies under Your feet.”’

45پس اگر داویؔد المسیح کو ‏‏’خُداوؔند،‘ کہتے ہیں تو وہ کِس طرح داویؔد کا بیٹاہو سکتے ہیں؟“So if David calls Him ‘Lord,’ how can He be David’s son?”

46اُن میں سے کویٔی ایک لفظ بھی جَواب میں نہ کہہ سَکا، اَور اُس دِن کے بعد پھر کسی نے بھی حُضُور سے اَور کویٔی سوال کرنے کی جُرأت نہ کی۔No one was able to answer a word, and from that day on no one dared to question Him any further.
