BSB BSB: When Zedekiah king of Judah and all the soldiers saw them, they fled. 12 WBS Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do to him even as he shall say to thee. BSB BSB: “Take him, look after him, and do not let any harm come to him; do for him whatever he says.”

16 WBS Go and speak to Ebed-melech the Cushite, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before thee. BSB BSB: “Go and tell Ebed-melech the Cushite that this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘I am about to fulfill My words against this city for harm and not for good, and on that day they will be fulfilled before your eyes.
17 WBS But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the LORD: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid. BSB BSB: But I will deliver you on that day, declares the LORD, and you will not be delivered into the hands of the men whom you fear.
18 WBS For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey to thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the LORD. BSB BSB: For I will surely rescue you so that you do not fall by the sword. Because you have trusted in Me, you will escape with your life like a spoil of war, declares the LORD.’”
