WBS And there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, Avenge me of my adversary. BSB BSB: And there was a widow in that town who kept appealing to him, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’
WBS And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; BSB BSB: For a while he refused, but later he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect men,
WBS Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. BSB BSB: yet because this widow keeps pestering me, I will give her justice. Otherwise, she will wear me out with her perpetual requests.’”
WBS And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. BSB BSB: And the Lord said, “Listen to the words of the unjust judge.
WBS And will not God avenge his own elect, who cry day and night to him, though he beareth long with them? BSB BSB: Will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He delay in helping them?
WBS I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, will he find faith on the earth? BSB BSB: I tell you, He will promptly carry out justice on their behalf. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?”

WBS The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are , extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. BSB BSB: The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—swindlers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.
WBS I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. BSB BSB: I fast twice a week and pay tithes of all that I acquire.’
WBS And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes to heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. BSB BSB: But the tax collector stood at a distance, unwilling even to lift up his eyes to heaven. Instead, he beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner!’
WBS I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. BSB BSB: I tell you, this man, rather than the Pharisee, went home justified. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

WBS For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. BSB BSB: Indeed, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
WBS And they that heard it , said, Who then can be saved? BSB BSB: Those who heard this asked, “Who then can be saved?”
