To Your Name Be the Glory (Psalm 135:1–21)
1 WBS Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. BSB BSB: Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to Your name be the glory, because of Your loving devotion, because of Your faithfulness. 2 WBS Why should the heathen say, Where is now their God? BSB BSB: Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?”
3 WBS But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatever he pleased. BSB BSB: Our God is in heaven; He does as He pleases.
5 WBS They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: BSB BSB: They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;
6 WBS They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: BSB BSB: they have ears, but cannot hear; they have noses, but cannot smell;
7 WBS They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat. BSB BSB: they have hands, but cannot feel; they have feet, but cannot walk; they cannot even clear their throats.
8 WBS They that make them are like them; so is every one that trusteth in them. BSB BSB: Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them.
9 WBS O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. BSB BSB: O Israel, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.
10 WBS O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. BSB BSB: O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.
11 WBS Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. BSB BSB: You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.
12 WBS The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us ; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron. BSB BSB: The LORD is mindful of us; He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron;
13 WBS He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great. BSB BSB: He will bless those who fear the LORD—small and great alike.
14 WBS The LORD will increase you more and more, you and your children. BSB BSB: May the LORD give you increase, both you and your children.
15 WBS Ye are blessed of the LORD who made heaven and earth. BSB BSB: May you be blessed by the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
16 WBS The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. BSB BSB: The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth He has given to mankind.
17 WBS The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence. BSB BSB: It is not the dead who praise the LORD, nor any who descend into silence.
18 WBS But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for ever. Praise the LORD. BSB BSB: But it is we who will bless the LORD, both now and forevermore. Hallelujah!
