Psalm 141 141 Psalms Book 5 Webster Bible Come Quickly to Me (Psalm 70:1–5)
WBS A Psalm of David. LORD, I cry to thee: make haste to me; give ear to my voice, when I cry to thee. BSB BSB: A Psalm of David. I call upon You, O LORD; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I call to You.
WBS Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. BSB BSB: May my prayer be set before You like incense; my uplifted hands, like the evening offering.
WBS Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. BSB BSB: Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips.
WBS Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties. BSB BSB: Do not let my heart be drawn to any evil thing or take part in works of wickedness with men who do iniquity; let me not feast on their delicacies.
WBS Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities. BSB BSB: Let the righteous man strike me; let his rebuke be an act of loving devotion. It is oil for my head; let me not refuse it. For my prayer is ever against the deeds of the wicked.
WBS When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet. BSB BSB: When their rulers are thrown down from the cliffs, the people will listen to my words, for they are pleasant.
WBS Our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth. BSB BSB: As when one plows and breaks up the soil, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
WBS But my eyes are to thee, O GOD the LORD: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute. BSB BSB: But my eyes are fixed on You, O GOD the Lord. In You I seek refuge; do not leave my soul defenseless.
WBS Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity. BSB BSB: Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, and from the lures of evildoers.
WBS Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst I escape. BSB BSB: Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.
