1. The Triumph of Faith

2. 1WBSTherefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ:BSBBSB: Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
3. 2WBSBy whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.BSBBSB: through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
4. 3WBSAnd not only so, but we glory in tribulations also; knowing that tribulation worketh patience;BSBBSB: Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;
5. 4WBSAnd patience, experience; and experience, hope:BSBBSB: perseverance, character; and character, hope.
6. 5WBSAnd hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts, by the Holy Spirit which is given to us.BSBBSB: And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.

7. Christ’s Sacrifice for the Ungodly

   (John 3:1–21)

8. 6WBSFor when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.BSBBSB: For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
9. 7WBSFor scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet perhaps for a good man some would even dare to die.BSBBSB: Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
10. 8WBSBut God commendeth his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.BSBBSB: But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
11. 9WBSMuch more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.BSBBSB: Therefore, since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him!
12. 10WBSFor if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son; much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.BSBBSB: For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!
13. 11WBSAnd not only so, but we also joy in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.BSBBSB: Not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

14. Death in Adam, Life in Christ

    (Genesis 3:1–7)

15. 12WBSWherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.BSBBSB: Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death was passed on to all men, because all sinned.
16. 13WBSFor until the law, sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.BSBBSB: For sin was in the world before the law was given; but sin is not taken into account when there is no law.
17. 14WBSNevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.BSBBSB: Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who did not sin in the way that Adam transgressed. He is a pattern of the One to come.
18. 15WBSBut not as the offense, so also is the free gift. For if through the offense of one many are dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded to many.BSBBSB: But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many!
19. 16WBSAnd not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift. For the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses to justification.BSBBSB: Again, the gift is not like the result of the one man’s sin: The judgment that followed one sin brought condemnation, but the gift that followed many trespasses brought justification.
20. 17WBSFor if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they who receive abundance of grace, and of the gift of righteousness, shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.BSBBSB: For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
21. 18WBSTherefore, as by the offense of one, judgment came upon all men to condemnation, even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men to justification of life.BSBBSB: So then, just as one trespass brought condemnation for all men, so also one act of righteousness brought justification and life for all men.
22. 19WBSFor as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.BSBBSB: For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
23. 20WBSMoreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:BSBBSB: The law came in so that the trespass would increase; but where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
24. 21WBSThat as sin hath reigned to death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to eternal life, by Jesus Christ our Lord.BSBBSB: so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
