Zechariah 14 Zechariah 14
The coming King and the day of the Lord
The Destroyers of Jerusalem Destroyed 1 WBS Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. BSB BSB: Behold, a day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided in your presence.
WBS For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. BSB BSB: For I will gather all the nations for battle against Jerusalem, and the city will be captured, the houses looted, and the women ravished. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be removed from the city.
WBS Then will the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. BSB BSB: Then the LORD will go out to fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle.
WBS And his feet will stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst of it towards the east and towards the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove towards the north, and half of it towards the south. BSB BSB: On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half the mountain moving to the north and half to the south.
WBS And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal: yes, ye shall flee as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. BSB BSB: You will flee by My mountain valley, for it will extend to Azal. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him.
WBS And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: BSB BSB: On that day there will be no light, no cold or frost.
WBS But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening it shall be light. BSB BSB: It will be a unique day known only to the LORD, without day or night; but when evening comes, there will be light.
WBS And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them towards the former sea, and half of them towards the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. BSB BSB: And on that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it toward the Eastern Sea and the other half toward the Western Sea, in summer and winter alike.
WBS And the LORD will be king over all the earth: in that day will there be one LORD, and his name one. BSB BSB: On that day the LORD will become King over all the earth—the LORD alone, and His name alone.
WBS All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate to the place of the first gate, to the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel to the king's wine-presses. BSB BSB: All the land from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem will be turned into a plain, but Jerusalem will be raised up and will remain in her place, from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses.
WBS And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited. BSB BSB: People will live there, and never again will there be an utter destruction. So Jerusalem will dwell securely.
WBS And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. BSB BSB: And this will be the plague with which the LORD strikes all the peoples who have warred against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.
WBS And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbor, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbor. BSB BSB: On that day a great panic from the LORD will come upon them, so that each will seize the hand of another, and the hand of one will rise against the other.
WBS And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen around shall be collected, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance. BSB BSB: Judah will also fight at Jerusalem, and the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected—gold, silver, and apparel in great abundance.
WBS And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague. BSB BSB: And a similar plague will strike the horses and mules, camels and donkeys, and all the animals in those camps.
All Nations Will Worship the King (Leviticus 23:33–44; Nehemiah 8:13–18)
WBS And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. BSB BSB: Then all the survivors from the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
WBS And it shall be, that whoever will not come up of all the families of the earth to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. BSB BSB: And should any of the families of the earth not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, then the rain will not fall on them.
WBS And if the family of Egypt shall not go up, and shall not come, that have no rain ; there shall be the plague, with which the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. BSB BSB: And if the people of Egypt will not go up and enter in, then the rain will not fall on them; this will be the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
WBS This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. BSB BSB: This will be the punishment of Egypt and of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
WBS In that day there shall be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS TO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before the altar. BSB BSB: On that day, HOLY TO THE LORD will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, and the cooking pots in the house of the LORD will be like the sprinkling bowls before the altar.
WBS Yes, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness to the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe in them: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts. BSB BSB: Indeed, every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the LORD of Hosts, and all who sacrifice will come and take some pots and cook in them. And on that day there will no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the LORD of Hosts.
