1. God Promises Deliverance

2. 1WEBThe LORD said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh, for by a strong hand he shall let them go, and by a strong hand he shall drive them out of his land.”BSBBSB: But the LORD said to Moses, “Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh, for because of My mighty hand he will let the people go; because of My strong hand he will drive them out of his land.”
3. 2WEBGod spoke to Moses, and said to him, “I am the LORD.BSBBSB: God also told Moses, “I am the LORD.
4. 3WEBI appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty; but by my name the LORD I was not known to them.BSBBSB: I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by My name the LORD I did not make Myself known to them.
5. 4WEBI have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their travels, in which they lived as aliens.BSBBSB: I also established My covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the land where they lived as foreigners.
6. 5WEBMoreover I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered my covenant.BSBBSB: Furthermore, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered My covenant.
7. 6WEBTherefore tell the children of Israel, ‘I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments.BSBBSB: Therefore tell the Israelites: ‘I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians and deliver you from their bondage. I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.
8. 7WEBI will take you to myself for a people. I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.BSBBSB: I will take you as My own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.
9. 8WEBI will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it to you for a heritage: I am the LORD.’”BSBBSB: And I will bring you into the land that I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the LORD!’”
10. 9WEBMoses spoke so to the children of Israel, but they didn’t listen to Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.BSBBSB: Moses relayed this message to the Israelites, but on account of their broken spirit and cruel bondage, they did not listen to him.
11. 10WEBThe LORD spoke to Moses, saying,BSBBSB: So the LORD said to Moses,
12. 11WEB“Go in, speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.”BSBBSB: “Go and tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his land.”
13. 12WEBMoses spoke before the LORD, saying, “Behold, the children of Israel haven’t listened to me. How then shall Pharaoh listen to me, when I have uncircumcised lips?”BSBBSB: But in the LORD’s presence Moses replied, “If the Israelites will not listen to me, then why would Pharaoh listen to me, since I am unskilled in speech?”
14. 13WEBThe LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, and gave them a command to the children of Israel, and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.BSBBSB: Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them a charge concerning both the Israelites and Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt.

16. 14WEBThese are the heads of their fathers’ houses. The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben.BSBBSB: These were the heads of their fathers’ houses: The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, were Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi. These were the clans of Reuben.
17. 15WEBThe sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the families of Simeon.BSBBSB: The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul, the son of a Canaanite woman. These were the clans of Simeon.
18. 16WEBThese are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari; and the years of the life of Levi were one hundred thirty-seven years.BSBBSB: These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their records: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. Levi lived 137 years.
19. 17WEBThe sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families.BSBBSB: The sons of Gershon were Libni and Shimei, by their clans.
20. 18WEBThe sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel; and the years of the life of Kohath were one hundred thirty-three years.BSBBSB: The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. Kohath lived 133 years.
21. 19WEBThe sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations.BSBBSB: The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of the Levites according to their records.
22. 20WEBAmram took Jochebed his father’s sister to himself as wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses. The years of the life of Amram were one hundred thirty-seven years.BSBBSB: And Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, and she bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years.
23. 21WEBThe sons of Izhar: Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.BSBBSB: The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg, and Zichri.
24. 22WEBThe sons of Uzziel: Mishael, Elzaphan, and Sithri.BSBBSB: The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan, and Sithri.
25. 23WEBAaron took Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, as his wife; and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.BSBBSB: And Aaron married Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
26. 24WEBThe sons of Korah: Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites.BSBBSB: The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph. These were the clans of the Korahites.
27. 25WEBEleazar Aaron’s son took one of the daughters of Putiel as his wife; and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites according to their families.BSBBSB: Aaron’s son Eleazar married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she bore him Phinehas. These were the heads of the Levite families by their clans.
28. 26WEBThese are that Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said, “Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.”BSBBSB: It was this Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said, “Bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their divisions.”
29. 27WEBThese are those who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt. These are that Moses and Aaron.BSBBSB: Moses and Aaron were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt in order to bring the Israelites out of Egypt.
30. 28WEBOn the day when the LORD spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt,BSBBSB: Now on the day that the LORD spoke to Moses in Egypt,
31. 29WEBThe LORD said to Moses, “I am the LORD. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I tell you.”BSBBSB: He said to him, “I am the LORD; tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I say to you.”
32. 30WEBMoses said before the LORD, “Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh listen to me?”BSBBSB: But in the LORD’s presence Moses replied, “Since I am unskilled in speech, why would Pharaoh listen to me?”
