3 WYC We owen to do thankyngis eueremore to God for you, britheren, so as it is worthi, for youre feith ouer wexith, and the charite of ech of you to othere aboundith. BSB BSB: We are obligated to thank God for you all the time, brothers, as is fitting, because your faith is growing more and more, and your love for one another is increasing.
4 WYC So that we silf glorien in you in the chirchis of God, for youre pacience and feith in alle youre persecuciouns and tribulaciouns. BSB BSB: That is why we boast among God’s churches about your perseverance and faith in the face of all the persecution and affliction you are enduring.
5 WYC Whiche ye susteynen in to the ensaumple of the iust dom of God, that ye be had worthi in the kingdom of God, for which ye suffren. BSB BSB: All this is clear evidence of God’s righteous judgment. And so you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.
6 WYC If netheles it is iust tofor God to quite tribulacioun to hem that troblen you, BSB BSB: After all, it is only right for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,
7 WYC and to you that ben troblid, rest with vs in the schewing of the Lord Jhesu fro heuene, with aungelis of his vertu, BSB BSB: and to grant relief to you who are oppressed and to us as well. This will take place when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels
8 WYC in the flawme of fier, that schal yyue veniaunce to hem that knowen not God, and that obeien not to the euangelie of oure Lord Jhesu Crist. BSB BSB: in blazing fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
10 WYC whanne he schal come to be glorified in hise seyntis, and to be maad wondurful in alle men that bileueden, for oure witnessing is bileuyd on you, in that dai. BSB BSB: on the day He comes to be glorified in His saints and regarded with wonder by all who have believed, including you who have believed our testimony.
11 WYC In which thing also we preien euere more for you, that oure God make you worthi to his cleping, and fille al the wille of his goodnesse, and the werk of feith in vertu; BSB BSB: To this end, we always pray for you, that our God will count you worthy of His calling, and that He will powerfully fulfill your every good desire and work of faith,
12 WYC that the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist be clarified in you, and ye in hym, bi the grace of oure Lord Jhesu Crist. BSB BSB: so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.
