BSB BSB: You and Aaron are to number those who are twenty years of age or older by their divisions—everyone who can serve in Israel’s army.
4 WYC And the princes of lynagis and of housis, in her kynredis, schulen be with you, BSB BSB: And one man from each tribe, the head of each family, must be there with you.
5 WYC of whiche princes these ben the names; of Ruben, Elisur, the sone of Sedeur; BSB BSB: These are the names of the men who are to assist you: From the tribe of Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;
6 WYC of Symeon, Salamyel, the sone of Suri Sadday; BSB BSB: from Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;
7 WYC of Juda, Naason, the sone of Amynadab; of Ysacar, BSB BSB: from Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;
8 WYC Nathanael, the sone of Suar; BSB BSB: from Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar;
9 WYC of Zabulon, Eliab, the sone of Elon; sotheli of the sones of Joseph, BSB BSB: from Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;
10 WYC of Effraym, Elisama, the sone of Amyud; of Manasses, Gamaliel the sone of Phadussur; BSB BSB: from the sons of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud, and from Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;
11 WYC of Beniamyn, Abidan, the sone of Gedeon; BSB BSB: from Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;
12 WYC of Dan, Aiezer, the sone of Amysadday; BSB BSB: from Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;
13 WYC of Aser, Fegiel, the sone of Ochran; BSB BSB: from Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran;
14 WYC of Gad, Elisaphan, the sone of Duel; BSB BSB: from Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel;

16 WYC These weren the noblest princes of the multitude, bi her lynagis, and kynredis, and the heedis of the oost of Israel, BSB BSB: These men were appointed from the congregation; they were the leaders of the tribes of their fathers, the heads of the clans of Israel.
17 WYC whiche pryncis Moises and Aaron token, with al the multitude of the comyn puple. BSB BSB: So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name,

19 WYC as the Lord comaundide to Moises. BSB BSB: just as the LORD had commanded Moses. So Moses numbered them in the Wilderness of Sinai:

46 WYC sixe hundrid thousynde and thre thousynde of men, fyue hundred and fifti. BSB BSB: And all those counted totaled 603,550.
47 WYC Sotheli the dekenes in the lynage of her meynes weren not noumbrid with hem. BSB BSB: The Levites, however, were not numbered along with them by the tribe of their fathers.
48 WYC And the Lord spak to Moises, and seide, `Nyle thou noumbre the lynage of Leuy, BSB BSB: For the LORD had said to Moses:
49 WYC nether sette thou the summe of hem with the sones of Israel; BSB BSB: “Do not number the tribe of Levi in the census with the other Israelites.
50 WYC but thou schalt ordeyne hem on the tabernacle of witnessing, and on alle the vessels therof, and what euer thing perteyneth to cerymonyes ether sacrifices. Thei schulen bere the tabernacle, and alle purtenaunces therof, and thei schulen be in seruyce, and schulen sette tentis bi the cumpas of the tabernacle. BSB BSB: Instead, you are to appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the Testimony, all its furnishings, and everything in it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles, care for it, and camp around it.
51 WYC Whanne me schal go, the dekenes schulen do doun the tabernacle; whanne the tentis schulen be sette, thei schulen `reise the tabernacle. Who euer of straungeris neiyeth, he schal be slayn. BSB BSB: Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever it is to be pitched, the Levites are to set it up. Any outsider who goes near it must be put to death.
52 WYC Sotheli the sones of Israel schulen sette tentis, ech man bi cumpenyes, and gaderyngis, and his oost; BSB BSB: The Israelites are to camp by their divisions, each man in his own camp and under his own standard.
53 WYC forsothe the dekenes schulen sette tentis bi the cumpas of the tabernacle, lest indignacioun be maad on the multitude of the sones of Israel; and thei schulen wake in the kepyngis of the `tabernacle of witnessyng. BSB BSB: But the Levites are to camp around the tabernacle of the Testimony and watch over it, so that no wrath will fall on the congregation of Israel. So the Levites are responsible for the tabernacle of the Testimony.”
54 WYC Therfor the sones of Israel diden bi alle thingis whiche the Lord comaundide to Moises. BSB BSB: Thus the Israelites did everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
