1Unəm va̱ uYahudi te, uza̱ ji ká̱ iza̱ yà? Ka̱t te, mpà ache ka̱ nza̱ nka̱mshi yà?What, then, is the advantage of being a Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision?

2Nna yà ka̱ nka̱mshi ka̱ ka̱ nza̱ asa̱l-awu nggo. Ngəshi te, oYahudi oma ma ma̱n ka̱ oza̱, ma nak iɗək nla nnap-nlà Inan ka̱ ashe awo oza̱.Much in every way. First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of God.

3A yà pa̱ oro ka̱ ashe oza̱ nəm avyal ka̱ nnap va̱ ta, nnandər oza̱ yə́l awo ka̱t te, a nyan chit san ɗa? Nlan nnandər oza̱ va̱ ta̱ i dan n-yə́l nsar nnap-nlà Inan ɗò?What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness?

4Ko pa̱ ɗa̱p iya̱m ro yà pa ka̱t. Re ma nyi pa̱ Inan pa te, uza̱ unəm uga nnandər kap ka̱ nva̱ pa̱ nza̱ unəm nggo te, unəm uga akwam wa nva ma lir ka̱ ashe nnap-nlà Inan a. Nna pa̱, <<Na u bol anung wa là nnap te, a nyám pa̱ mmaɓu ka̱ nnandər. Ma nap akwali aɓu te, wa ri.>>Certainly not! Let God be true and every man a liar. As it is written: “So that You may be proved right when You speak and victorious when You judge.”

5A yà pa̱ nnap nnəm yi nna nnà ka̱ nnak Inan i mma̱n ka̱ yi pa̱ mmayi onəna̱n ka̱ mpyal wò ì fa pa̱ jakjai te, iza̱ i là yà? A yà pa̱ Inan nyám ntan ayi te, pa̱ uza̱ nəm iya̱m-iɓá̱ngɓa̱ng ɗò? (Mmami ka̱ nnyam ìpir nnàp wa apir nja anəm.)But if our unrighteousness highlights the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unjust to inflict His wrath on us? I am speaking in human terms.

6Ko pa̱ ɗa̱p iya̱m ro ya pa ka̱t. Ka̱kul ka̱ yà pa te, i yar sang kang Inan i nap akwali ápambin yà?Certainly not! In that case, how could God judge the world?

7<<A yà pa̱ ka̱kul akwam mi kan nnandər Inan ka̱ nnyam ka̱ mban i ji mmatmat har a nak te ma ka̱ nna ichumchum á na ji mmatmat te, iza̱ nak kan nna ma ka̱ nnap-akwali á mi na pa̱ har ka̱kul pa̱ mmami unəm uga nnap-mɓá̱ngɓa̱ng yà?>>However, if my falsehood accentuates God’s truthfulness, to the increase of His glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?

8Pa na te, iza̱ i dan pa̱ i pa ishi ka̱ nnəm iya̱m iɓá̱ngɓa̱ng na a sat ipir mɓa ká̱ iya̱m nənna̱n ayi yà? wantana oro ka̱ nvyap yi i là pa̱ iya̱m va ta mmayi ka̱ nləla. Akwali va̱ mí gəl âpir onəm va̱ ta aga nri oza̱ te, i mal dakdak.Why not say, as some slanderously claim that we say, “Let us do evil that good may result”? Their condemnation is deserved!

9Te san ɗa? Mmayi oYahudi i ji aɓo onəm ji ɗò? Ko pa̱ ɗa̱p. Ka̱kul ká̱ i là chit matmat pa̱ nkpaktak onəm, oYahudi ka̱ onəm va̱ oYahudi ka̱t te, i nak mpat óza̱ chit pa̱ nnap-mɓá̱ngɓa̱ng nna ka̱ nnəm ka̱ oza̱What then? Are we any better? Not at all. For we have already made the charge that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin.

10wa nva ma lir ka̱ ashe nnap-nlà Inan pa̱, <<Unəm ro yà unəna̱n ka̱t. A yà ka̱ pa̱ uzəng ka̱t.As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one.

11Unəm ro yà uga nkpán ìpir nnàp ka̱t. Unəm ro yà uga nram Inan ka̱t.There is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.

12Oza̱ ga̱ɓa̱n chit pa̱ kpaktak nyan onəm-lakchi. Unəm ro yà ka̱ nnəm iya̱m-inəna̱n ka̱t. A yà ka̱ pa̱ uzəng ka̱t.>>All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”

13<<Igósa̱l oza̱ wa awap atungtung. Inok aɓələm oza̱ te, nlam onəm na.>> <<Akal ìzwa ka̱sap anung oza̱.>>“Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.” “The venom of vipers is on their lips.”

14<<Atam oza̱ yə́l ká̱ mpwat mpwat, ká̱ nnap-nlà nɗulɗul.>>“Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”

15<<Oza̱ gha̱n ashar kà̱ ngga ngba̱l unəm byet.“Their feet are swift to shed blood;

16Atak va kpaktak oza̱ i wòl ka̱ te, nlak-atak nzəng ka̱ nlak-ìgwak i wa nva̱n oza̱.ruin and misery lie in their wake,

17Iya̱m va̱ mí wór pa̱ mɓa ka̱ ntəm-ikankan te, oza̱ nyi ka̱t pa̱ kpau.>>and the way of peace they have not known.”

18<<Nra ayə̀r Inan yà ka̱ ashe ntəm oza̱ ka̱ pa̱ ɗa̱pfinyan ka̱t.>>“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

19I nyinyi pa̱ iya̱m va pa̱ kpaktak nnap-mpakpak là te, ka̱kul onəm va ka̱ akum ichumchum chumchum ná kan unəm ro a yà ka̱ anung aga nla iya̱m ro ka̱t. Ná apambin pa̱ kpaktak a nyi kpa pa̱ akwali Inan nna yà ka̱kul oza̱.Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.

20Unəm ro yà va Inan i là pa̱ uza̱ unəna̱n ka̱ mpyal wò ka̱kul pa̱ uza̱ kpak nnap-mpakpak ɓyen pari ka̱t. Ka̱kul ka̱ atak iya̱m va nnap-mpakpak kà̱ nla te, i nyi pa̱ mmayi ka̱ nnəm nnap-mɓá̱ngɓa̱ng.Therefore no one will be justified in His sight by works of the law. For the law merely brings awareness of sin.

21N-yanmata̱ jiwo te, ma nyám asa̱l aga ntong onəna̱n ka̱ mpyal Inan chit va yar nnap nkpak nnap-mpakpak ka̱t a. Atakarda nnap-mpakpak Inan ka̱ aga nnap-nlà onəm oga nka̱m nre ka̱tətak oza̱ nyám nnap chit ka̱ apal ishishi.But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, as attested by the Law and the Prophets.

22Ntong onəna̱n ka̱ mpyal Inan va ka̱ atak nna nnandər ku uYesu Kəristi te, ka̱kul nkpaktak onəm oga nna nnandər, nva̱n ro yà ka̱ ka̱t.And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction,

23Ká̱kúl nkpaktak onəm nəm nnap-mɓá̱ngɓa̱ng chit. Onəm pa̱ kpaktak ka̱ uro ya chu nya ichumchum Inan ka̱t kpa.for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

24Ma tong onəna̱n chit ka̱ mpyal Inan ka̱ atak nka̱m ishi yi va uYesu Kəristi ka̱m, ka̱kul nnap-nəna̱n Inan mmakmak.and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

25Inan yichi uYesu Kəristi sat iya̱m iga mpà ka̱kul mmwa akat aga nyar nnap-mɓá̱ngɓa̱ng. N-yar nnap-mɓá̱ngɓa̱ng va̱ ta̱ pa te, mí ya ka̱ atak nna nnandər ká̱ ikuku. Inan nəm pa na o nyám nnəm nnap wò va yà ka̱ á na ka̱t a. Ka̱kul matmat te, ka̱kul nka̱r-ìgwak na te, uza̱ yar iwu dər nnap-mɓá̱ngɓa̱ng va̱ ma nəm ka̱t.God presented Him as an atoning sacrifice in His blood through faith, in order to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had passed over the sins committed beforehand.

26Inan nəm pa na a nyám ónəm oga ashe nra va̱ ta̱ nnəm-nnap wò va yà ka̱ á na ka̱t a. Na a nyám ka̱ mban pa̱ uza̱ wat te, i nəm iya̱m ka̱səsa̱l. Pa̱ uwa i là únəm uga nna nnandər ku uYesu pa̱ uza̱ unəna̱n ka̱ mpyal Inan.He did this to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and to justify the one who has faith in Jesus.

27Te nnok yi yar ka̱ san nnyi ɗa? Ko pa̱ ɗa̱p ma gəl chit ma re ka̱ cho. Ma gəl ma re ka̱ cho ka̱ nza̱ asa̱l yà? Ma gəl ma re ka̱ cho ka̱kul mɓyen inok yi ɗò? O'o, ma gəl ma re ka̱ cho ka̱ atak nnap nna nnandər na ka̱ nkukwa.Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of works? No, but on that of faith.

28Ka̱kul mmayi ka̱ anung nla pa̱ har pa̱ ka̱ atak nna nnandər na chwat kan Inan i là únəm pa̱ uza̱ ta̱l unəna̱n chit ka̱ mpyal wò. A yar nnap nkpak iya̱m va nnap-mpakpak ka̱ nləla ka̱t.For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the law.

29Inan pa te, uza̱ Inan oYahudi na chwat ɗò? Onəm va̱ oYahudi ka̱t te, uza̱ Inan oza̱ jo oza̱ ka̱t ɗò? Akwam ka̱t, onəm va̱ oYahudi ka̱t te, uza̱ Inan oza̱ na kpa.Is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,

30Ka̱kul Inan pa̱ izən. Uza̱ i là ónəm oga mpà ache pa̱ oza̱ tong onəna̱n chit ka̱ mpyal wò ka̱ atak nna nnandər va oza̱ na a. Uza̱ i là ónəm oga ache amulur pa̱ oza̱ tong onəna̱n chit ka̱ mpyal wò ka̱ atak nna nnandər na kpa.since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith.

31A nyan chit pa̱ í nak nnap-mpakpak sat nnap iwali ka̱ atak nna nnandər va̱ chit ɗò? Ko pa̱ ɗa̱p iya̱m ro yà pa ka̱t. Mmayi ka̱ nkam nnap-mpakpak.Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Certainly not! Instead, we uphold the law.
