1. 1ZAJPTuwapetela munhu yakalile baho songela haichanduso, ayo itumuhulike, ayo itumonile na meso getu wenyego, ayo itumuwene na kumgoga na makono getu, ayo ituwapetele, ayo yali Mbuli ya ugima.BSBBSB: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have gazed upon and touched with our own hands—this is the Word of life.
2. 2ZAJPMunhu ino ayo yali ugima, kagubuligwa kumwetu, na tumona. Na sambi tompeta na kuwalongela mweye kamba heyo iyo ugima wa digunge. Kakala na Tata, abaho kagubuligwa kumwetu.BSBBSB: And this is the life that was revealed; we have seen it and testified to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us.
3. 3ZAJPTowapetela mweye kija kituchonile na kukihulika giladi na mweye vivija muilumbe hamoja na tweye. Tweye twa hamoja na Tata na Mwanage Yesu Kilisto.BSBBSB: We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
4. 4ZAJPTowandikileni mbuli zino giladi deng'ho jetu divikizwe.BSBBSB: We write these things so that our joy may be complete.
5. 5ZAJPUno uwo usenga utuhulike kulawa ha Yesu Kilisto na toupeta kumwenu kamba Mulungu iyo mulangaza na mgati yake mduhu ziza.BSBBSB: And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
6. 6ZAJPKamba tuhalonga twa hamoja na heyo na kuno totembela mdiziza, tovwiza, na hatutenda gaja gali kweli.BSBBSB: If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7. 7ZAJPIla kamba tuhatembela mmulangaza, kamba heyo viyali mmulangaza, tuna uhamoja wa wenyego kwa wenyego, na mulopa wa Yesu, mwanage, wotung'aliza kulawa m'vilozo vose.BSBBSB: But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8. 8ZAJPTuhalonga twabule vilozo, toivwizila wenyego, na mduhu kweli mgati yetu.BSBBSB: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9. 9ZAJPIla kamba tuhavitogola vilozo vetu haulongozi wa Mulungu, heyo kana kweli na kabule uzenzeleganye na kotugela kumgongo vilozo vetu na kotung'aliza kulawa muuzenzeleganye wose utulinao.BSBBSB: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10. 10ZAJPKamba tuhalonga hatutendile vilozo, tomtenda heyo kuwa m'vwizi, na mbuli yake haili mgati yetu.BSBBSB: If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.
