2 ULB የሦባል ልጅ ራያ ኢኤትን ወለደ፤ ኢኤትደግሞ አሑማይንና ላሃድን ወለደ፤ እነዝዝዚህ የጾርዓውያን ጎሣዎች ናቸው። BSB BSB: Reaiah son of Shobal was the father of Jahath, and Jahath was the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were the clans of the Zorathites.
3 ULB የኤጣም ወንዶች ልጆች እነዚህ ናቸው፤ ኢይዝራኤል፣ ይሽማ፣ ይደባሽ። እኅታቸው ሃጽሌልፎኒ ትባላለች። BSB BSB: These were the sons of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash. And their sister was named Hazzelelponi.
4 ULB ፋኑኤል ጌዶርን ወለደ፤ ኤጽር ደግሞ ሑሻ ምን ወለደ። እነዚህ የኤፍራታ የበኩር ልጅና የቤተልሔም አባት የሆነው የሆር ዘሮች ናቸው። BSB BSB: Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer was the father of Hushah. These were the descendants of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah and the father of Bethlehem.
5 ULB የቴቁሔ አባት አሽሑር፣ ሔላና ነዕራ የተባሉ ሁለቱ ሚስቶች ነበሩት። BSB BSB: Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.
6 ULB ነዕራም አሑዛምን፣ ኦፌርን፣ ቴምኒን፣ አሐሽታሪን ወለደችለት፤ የነዕራ ዘሮች እነዚህ ነበሩ። BSB BSB: Naarah bore to him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the descendants of Naarah.
7 ULB የሔላ ወንዶች ልጆች፤ ዴሬት፣ ይጽሐር፣ ኤትናን ናቸው። BSB BSB: The sons of Helah were Zereth, Zohar, Ethnan,
8 ULB የቆጽ ወንዶች ልጆች ደግሞም ዓኑብ፣ ጾቤባና፣ የሃሩም ናቸው። BSB BSB: and Koz, who was the father of Anub and Zobebah and of the clans of Aharhel son of Harum.
9 ULB ያቤጽ ከወንድሞቹ ይልቅ የተከበረ ሰው ነበረ፤ እናቱም "በጣር የወለድድኩት" ስትል ስሙን ያቤጽ አለችው። BSB BSB: Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.”
10 ULB ያቤጽም፣ "አቤቱ፤ እንድትባርከኝ፣ ግዛቴንም እንድታሰፋልኝ እለምንሃለሁ፣ እጅህ ከእኔ ጋር ትሁን፣ ከሥቃይና ከጉዳትም ጠብቀኝ" በማለት ወደ እስራኤል አምላክ ጮኸ።እግዚአብሔርም የለመነውን ሰጠው። BSB BSB: And Jabez called out to the God of Israel, “If only You would bless me and enlarge my territory! May Your hand be with me and keep me from harm, so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted the request of Jabez.
11 ULB የሹሐ ወንድም ክሉብ ምሒርን ወለደ፤ ምሒርን ወለደ፤ ምሒርም ኤሽቶን ወለደ፤ BSB BSB: Chelub the brother of Shuhah was the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.
12 ULB ኤሽቶን ቤትራፋንና ፋሴሐን ወለደ፤ የዒርናሐሽን ከተሞች የቁረቁረ እርሱ ነው። እነዚህ የሬካ ሰዎች ናቸው። BSB BSB: Eshton was the father of Beth-rapha, of Paseah, and of Tehinnah the father of Ir-nahash. These were the men of Recah.

14 ULB መዖታይ ደግሞ ዖፍራን ወለደ። ሠራያ የኢዮአብ አባት ሲሆን፣ ኢዮአብ ጌሐራሺምን ወለደ፤ የእደ ጥበብ ባለ ሙያዎች ስለ ነበሩ ይህ ስም ተሰጣቸው። BSB BSB: Meonothai was the father of Ophrah, and Seraiah was the father of Joab, the father of those living in Ge-harashim, which was given this name because its people were craftsmen.
15 ULB የዮፎኔ ልጅ የካሌብ ወንዶች ልጆች፤ ዒሩ፣ ኤላ፣ ነዓም። የኤላ ልጅ ቄኔዝ። BSB BSB: The sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam. The son of Elah: Kenaz.
16 ULB የይሃልኤል ወንዶች ልጆች፤ ዚፍ፣ ዚፋ፣ ቲርያ፣አሣርኤል። BSB BSB: The sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
17 ULB የዕዝራ ሜሬድ፣ዔፌር፣ያሎን። ከሜሬድ ሚስቶች እንዲቱ ማርያምን፣ ሽማይንና የኤሽትምዓን አባት ፅሽባን ወለደች። BSB BSB: The sons of Ezrah: Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. And Mered’s wife Bithiah gave birth to Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
18 ULB አይሁዳዊት ሚስቱም የጌዶርን አባት ዮሬድን፣ የጆኮን አባት ሔቤርን፣ የዛኖዋን አባት ይቁቲኤልን ወለደች፤ እነዚህም ሜሬድ ያገባት የፈርዖን ልጅ የቢትያ ልጆች ናቸው። BSB BSB: These were the children of Pharaoh’s daughter Bithiah. Mered also took a Judean wife, who gave birth to Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah.
19 ULB የሆዲያ ሚስት የነሐም እኅት ወንዶች ልጆች፤ የገርሚው የቅዒላ አባት፣ ማዕካታዊው ኤሽትሞዓ። BSB BSB: The sons of Hodiah’s wife, the sister of Naham, were the fathers of Keilah the Garmite and of Eshtemoa the Maacathite.
20 ULB የሺሞን ወንዶች ልጆች፤ አምኖን፣ ሪና፣ ቤንሐናን፣ ቲሎን። የይሺዒ ዘሮች፤ ዞሔትና ቤንዞሔት። BSB BSB: The sons of Shimon: Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-hanan, and Tilon. The descendants of Ishi: Zoheth and Ben-zoheth.
21 ULB የይሁዳ ልጅ የሴሎም ወንዶች ልጆች፤ የሌካ አባት ዔር፣ የመሪሳና በቤት አሽቤዓ የበፍታ ጨርቅ ሠሪ የሆኑት ጎሣዎች አባት ለዓዳ፣ BSB BSB: The sons of Shelah son of Judah: Er the father of Lecah, Laadah the father of Mareshah and the clans of the linen workers at Beth-ashbea,
22 ULB ዮቂም፣ የኮዜባ ሰዎች፣ ኢዮአስ፣ ሞዓብን የገዛ ሣራፍና ያሹቢሌሔም። ታሪካቸውም ጥንታዊነት ያለው ነው። BSB BSB: Jokim, the men of Cozeba, and Joash and Saraph, who ruled in Moab and Jashubi-lehem. (These names are from ancient records.)
23 ULB ሰዎቹ ነበጣዒምና በጋዴራ የሚቀመጡ ሸክላ ሠሪዎች ነበሩ፤ በዚያም በመቀመጥ ለንጉሡ ሸክላ ይሠሩ ነበር። BSB BSB: These were the potters who lived at Netaim and Gederah. They lived there in the service of the king.
24 ULB የስምዖን ዘሮች፤ ነሙኤል፣ ያሚን፣ ያሪን፣ ዛራ፣ ሳኡል፣ BSB BSB: The descendants of Simeon: Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, and Shaul.
25 ULB ሰሎም የሳኡል ልጅ ነው፤ መብሳም የሰሎም ልጅ ነው፤ ማስማዕ ደግሞ የመብሳም ልጅ ነው። BSB BSB: The sons of Shaul: Shallum, Mibsam, and Mishma.
26 ULB የማስማዕ ዘሮች ልጁ ሃሙኤል፣ ልጁ ዘኩር፣ ልጁ ሰሜኢ። BSB BSB: The sons of Mishma: Hammuel, Zaccur, and Shimei.
27 ULB ሰሚኤ ዐሥራ ስድስት ወንዶችና ስድስት ሴቶች ልጆች ነበሩት፤ ወንድሞቹ ግን ብዙ ልጆች አልነበሯቸው፤ ስለዚህ ጎሣቸው በሙሉ እንደ ይሁዳ ሕዝብ ብዙ አልነበረም። BSB BSB: Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters, but his brothers did not have many children, so their whole clan did not become as numerous as the sons of Judah.

32 ULB በአካባቢያቸው የሚገኙት ወንደሮች ደግሞ ኤጣም፣ ዓይን፣ ሬሞን፣ ቶኬን፣ ዓሻን የተባሉ አምስት ከተሞች ናቸው፤ BSB BSB: And their villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen, and Ashan—five towns—
33 ULB በእነዚህ ከተሞች ዙሪያ በአል የሚዝችልቁ መንደሮች ነበሩ፤ መኖሪያቸው በዚሁ ሲሆን፤ የትውልድ መዝገብም አላቸው። BSB BSB: and all their surrounding villages as far as Baal. These were their settlements, and they kept a genealogical record:
34 ULB ሞሾብብ፣ የምሌክ፣ የአሜስያስ ልጅ ኢዮስያስ፣ BSB BSB: Meshobab, Jamlech, Joshah son of Amaziah,
35 ULB ኢዮኤል፣ የዮሺብያ ልጅ፣ የሠራያ የዓጂኤል ልጅ ኢዩ BSB BSB: Joel, Jehu son of Joshibiah (son of Seraiah, son of Asiel),
36 ULB እንዲሁም ኤልዩዔናይ፣ ያዕቆብ፣ ፅሾሐያ፣ ዓሣያ፣ ዓሲዔል፣ ዩሲምኤል፣ በናያስ፣ BSB BSB: Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah,
37 ULB የሺፊ ልጅ ዚዛ፣ የአሎን ልጅ፣ የይዳያ ልጅ፣ የሺምሪ ልጅ፤ የሸማያ ልጅ፤ BSB BSB: and Ziza son of Shiphi (son of Allon, son of Jedaiah, son of Shimri, son of Shemaiah).
38 ULB እነዚህ ስማቸው ከላይ የተዘረዘረው ሰዎች የየጎሣቸው መሪዎች ነበሩ፤ የቤተሰባቸው ብዛት እጅግ በጣም እየጨመረ ሄደ፤ BSB BSB: These men listed by name were the leaders of their clans. Their families increased greatly,
39 ULB እነርሱም ለከብቶቻቸው ግጦሽ ፍለጋ ከሸለቆው በስተምስራቅ እስካለው እስከ ጌደር መግቢያ ድረስ ዘልቀው ሄዱ። BSB BSB: and they journeyed to the entrance of Gedor, to the east side of the valley, in search of pasture for their flocks.
40 ULB በዚያም ለምለምና ያማረ የግጦሽ ቦታ አገኙ፤ ምድሪቱም ሰፊ፤ ሰላምና ጸጥታ የሰፈነበት ነበረች። በቀድሞ ቀመን በዚህ ምድር ይኖሩ የነበሩት አንዳንድ የካም ዘሮቼ ናቸው። BSB BSB: There they found rich, good pasture, and the land was spacious, peaceful, and quiet; for some Hamites had lived there formerly.
41 ULB እነዚህ ስማቸው ከላይ የተዘረዘሩው ወደዚሁ ቦታ የመቱት በይሁዳ ንጉሥ በሕዝቅያስ ዘመን ነበረ፤ እነርሱም በድንኳኖቻቸው ውስጥ በነበሩበት በካም ወገኖችና በምዑናውያን ላይ አደጋ በመጣል ፈፅመው አላጠፋአቸው፤ ይህም እስከ ዛሬ ድረስ በግልጽ ይታያል። ለመንጎቻቸው በቂ ግጦሽ ቦታ ስላላገኙ፣ በዚያ መኖር ጀመሩ። BSB BSB: These who were noted by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. 43 ULB አምልጠው የቀሩትን አማሌቅውያን ፈጅተው እስከ ዛሬ በዚያው ይኖራሉ። BSB BSB: and struck down the remnant of the Amalekites who had escaped. And they have lived there to this day.
