1. 1ULBሚስቶች ሆይ፤ እናንተም እንደዚሁ ለባሎቻችሁ ተገዙ፤ አንዳንድ ለቃሉ የማይታዘዙ ቢኖሩ እንኳ፣ ሚስቶቻቸው ቃል ሳይናገሩ በመልካም አኗኗራቸው ሊማርኳቸው ይችላሉ፤BSBBSB: Wives, in the same way, submit yourselves to your husbands, so that even if they refuse to believe the word, they will be won over without words by the behavior of their wives
2. 2ULBይህም የሚሆነው ለእነርሱ ያላችሁን አክብሮት በንጹሕ አኗኗራችሁ ሲመለከቱ ነው።BSBBSB: when they see your pure and reverent demeanor.
3. 3ULBውበታችሁ በውጫዊ ነገሮች በመሽሞንሞን ይኸውም ሹሩባ በመሠራት፣ በወርቅ በመንቆጥቆጥ ወይም ጌጠኛ ልብስ በመልበስ አይሁን፤BSBBSB: Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair or gold jewelry or fine clothes,
4. 4ULBነገር ግን ውበታችሁ በእግዚአብሔር ፊት የከበረ፣ ገርና ጭምት መንፈስ ያለበት፣ ምንጊዜም የማይጠፋ የውስጥ ሰውነት ውበት ይሁን።BSBBSB: but from the inner disposition of your heart, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in God’s sight.
5. 5ULBየቀድሞ ቅዱሳት ሴቶች የተዋቡት በዚህ ዐይነት ነበር፤ እነርሱ በእግዚአብሔር የሚደገፉና ለባሎቻቸ የሚታዘዙ ነበሩ።BSBBSB: For this is how the holy women of the past adorned themselves. They put their hope in God and were submissive to their husbands,
6. 6ULBሣራም እንደዚሁ አብርሃምን «ጌታዬ» እያለች ትታዘዘው ነበር፣ እናንተም መከራን ሳትፈሩ መልካም ብታደርጉ፣ አሁን የእርሷ ልጆች ናችሁ።BSBBSB: just as Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him lord. And you are her children if you do what is right and refuse to give way to fear.
7. 7ULBእንዲሁም ባሎች ሆይ፤ ሚስቶቻችሁ ደካማ አጋር መሆናቸውን ዐውቃችሁ፣ የሕይወትን ጸጋ ከእናንተ ጋር አብረው የሚካፈሉ መሆናቸውንም ተገንዝባችሁ አብራችኋቸው ኑሩ። ጸሎታችሁ እንዳይከለከል ይህን አድርጉ።BSBBSB: Husbands, in the same way, treat your wives with consideration as a delicate vessel, and with honor as fellow heirs of the gracious gift of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.
8. 8ULBበመጨረሻም፣ ሁላችሁ በአንድ ሐሳብ ተስማሙ፤ ተዛዘኑ፤ እንደ ወንድማማቾች ተዋደዱ፤ ርኅሩኆችና ትሑታን ሁኑ።BSBBSB: Finally, all of you, be like-minded and sympathetic, love as brothers, be tenderhearted and humble.
9. 9ULBክፉን በክፉ ወይም ስድብን በስድብ ፈንታ አትመልሱ፤ በዚህ ፈንታ ባርኩ፤ ምክንያቱም እናንተ የተጠራችሁት በረከትን ለመውረስ ነው።BSBBSB: Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
10. 10ULBስለዚህ «ሕይወትን የሚወድና መልካም ቀኖችን ሊያይ የሚፈልግ ምላሱን ከክፉ፣ ከንፈሮቹንም ተንኰል ከመናገር ይከልክል።BSBBSB: For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.
11. 11ULBከክፉ ይራቅ፤ መልካምንም ያድርግ፤ ሰላምን ይፈልግ፤ ይከተላትም።BSBBSB: He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.
12. 12ULBየጌታ ዐይኖች ጻድቃንን ይመለከታሉና፤ ጆሮቹም ጸሎታቸውን ለመስማት የተከፈቱ ናቸው፤ የጌታ ፊት ግን በክፉ አድራጊዎች ላይ ነው።»BSBBSB: For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are inclined to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
13. 13ULBመልካም ነገር ለማድረግ ብትቀኑ የሚጐዳችሁ ማን ነው?BSBBSB: Who can harm you if you are zealous for what is good?
14. 14ULBነገር ግን በጽድቅ ምክንያት መከራ ቢደርስባችሁ ቡሩካን ናችሁ፤ ዛቻቸውን አትፍሩ፤ አትታወኩም።BSBBSB: But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear; do not be shaken.”
15. 15ULBይልቁንም፣ ክርስቶስ የከበረ መሆኑን ተረድታችሁ በልባችሁ ቀድሱት። እናንተ በእግዚአብሔር ላይ ስላላችሁ መታመን ምክንያቱን ለሚጠይቋችሁ ሁሉ መልስ ለመስጠት ሁል ጊዜ የተዘጋጃችሁ ሁኑ፤ ነገር ግን ይህን ሁሉ በትሕትናና በአክብሮት አድርጉት፤BSBBSB: But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you. But respond with gentleness and respect,
16. 16ULBበክርስቶስ ያላችሁን መልካም አናናራችሁን የሚያክፋፉ ሰዎች በሐሜታቸው እንዲያፍሩ በጎ ኅሊና ይኑራችሁ።BSBBSB: keeping a clear conscience, so that those who slander you may be put to shame by your good behavior in Christ.
17. 17ULBእግዚአብሔር የሚፈልገው ይህን ከሆነ፣ ክፉ ሠርቶ መከራ ከመቀበል ይልቅ መልካም አድርጎ መከራ መቀበል ይሻላል፤BSBBSB: For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
18. 18ULBእንዲሁም ክርስቶስ አንድ ጊዜ ስለ ኀጢአታችን ሞቷል። ወደ እግዚአብሔር ያቀርበን ዘንድ፣ ጻድቅ የሆነው እርሱ ስለ እኛ ስለ ዐመፀኞች ሞተ፤ እርሱ በሥጋ ሞተ፤ በመንፈስ ግን ሕያው ሆነ፤BSBBSB: For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit,
19. 19ULBበመንፈስም ሄዶ በወህኒ ቤት ለነበሩ ነፍሳት ሰበከላቸው፤BSBBSB: in whom He also went and preached to the spirits in prison
20. 20ULBበወህኒ የነበሩት እነዚህ ነፍሳት ቀድሞ በኖኅ ዘመን መርከብ ሲሠራ እግዚአብሔር በትዕግሥት ይጠብቃቸው የነበሩ እምቢተኞች ናቸው፤ እግዚአብሔር ከውሃ ያዳናቸው ጥቂት ሰዎችን፣ ይኸውም ስምንት ሰዎችን ብቻ ነበር።BSBBSB: who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In the ark a few people, only eight souls, were saved through water.
21. 21ULBይህም ውሃ አሁን እናንተን የሚያድነው የጥምቀት ምሳሌ ነው፤ ይህ ጥምቀት የሰውነትን ዕድፍ ማስወገድ ሳይሆን ንጹሕ ኅሊናን ለማግኘት ወደ እግዚአብሔር የሚቀርብ ልመና ነው፤ የሚያድናችሁም በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ትንሣኤ አማካይነት ነው፤BSBBSB: And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
22. 22ULBእርሱ ወደ ሰማይ ሄዶ በእግዚአብሔር አብ ቀኝ አለ፤ መላእክት፣ ሥልጣናትና ኀይላትም ተገዝተውለታል።BSBBSB: who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers subject to Him.
