1 ULB ለእስራኤል አምላክ ለእግዚአብሔር የፋሲካን በዓል ለማክበር ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ወደ እግዚአብሔር ቤት እንዲመጡ ሕዝቅያስ ወደ እስራኤልና ይሁዳ ሁሉ መልዕክተኞችን ላከ፤ ወደ ኤፍሬምና ምናሴም ደብዳቤዎችን ጻፈ። BSB BSB: Then Hezekiah sent word throughout all Israel and Judah, and he also wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh inviting them to come to the house of the LORD in Jerusalem to keep the Passover of the LORD, the God of Israel.
2 ULB ንጉሡ፥ መሪዎቹና የኢየሩሳሌሙ ጉባዔ ሁሉ በአንድነት ከተመካከሩ በኋላ ፋሲካውን በሁለተኛው ወር ለማክበር እየወሰኑ ነበር። BSB BSB: For the king and his officials and the whole assembly in Jerusalem had decided to keep the Passover in the second month,
3 ULB ካህናቱ በበቂ ቁጥር ራሳቸውን ለእግዚአብሔር ስላልቀደሱና ሕዝቡም ገና ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም በአንድነት ስላልተሰበሰበ ወዲያውኑ በዓሉን ሊያከብሩ አልቻሉም ነበር። BSB BSB: since they had been unable to keep it at the regular time, because not enough priests had consecrated themselves and the people had not been gathered in Jerusalem.
4 ULB ይህ እቅድ በንጉሡና በጉባዔው ሁሉ ፊት መልካም ሆኖ ታይቶ ነበር። BSB BSB: This plan pleased the king and the whole assembly.
5 ULB በመሆኑም በመላው እስራኤል ከቤርሳቤህ እስከ ዳን የእስራኤልን አምላክ የእግዚአብሔርን ፋሲካ በዓል በኢየሩሳሌም ለማክበር ሕዝቡ እንዲመጡ አዋጅ እንዲነገር ድንጋጌ አወጡ። በእርግጥም በጽሑፍ እንደታዘዘው በብዙ ቁጥር አላከበሩትም ነበር። BSB BSB: So they established a decree to circulate a proclamation throughout Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, that the people should come to keep the Passover of the LORD, the God of Israel, in Jerusalem. For they had not observed it in great numbers as prescribed.
6 ULB በንጉሡ ትእዛዝ መልዕክተኞች ወደ መላው ይሁዳና እስራኤል ሁሉ የንጉሡንና የመሪዎቹን ደብዳቤ ይዘው ሄዱ። "እናንተ የእስራኤል ሰዎች ከአሦር ነገሥታት እጅ ወዳመለጠው ቅሬታችሁ እንዲመለስ ወደ አብርሃም፥ ይስሐቅና እስራኤል አምላክ ወደ እግዚአብሔር ተመለሱ። BSB BSB: At the command of the king, the couriers went throughout Israel and Judah with letters from the king and his officials, which read: “Children of Israel, return to the LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so that He may return to those of you who remain, who have escaped the grasp of the kings of Assyria.
7 ULB እንደምታዩት ለጥፋት አሳልፎ እስኪሰጣቸው ድረስ በአባቶቻቸው አምላክ በእግዚአብሔር ላይ እንደተላለፉት እንደ አባቶቻችሁ ወይም ወንድሞቻችሁ አትምሰሉ። BSB BSB: Do not be like your fathers and brothers who were unfaithful to the LORD, the God of their fathers, so that He made them an object of horror, as you can see.
8 ULB አሁንም አባቶቻችሁ እንደነበሩት እናንተም አንገተ ደንዳና አትሁኑ። ይልቁንም ራሳችሁን ለእግዚአብሔር ስጡና የጋለ ቁጣው ከእናንተ እንዲመለስ አምላካችሁን እግዚአብሔርን ለማምለክ ለዘላለም ለእግዚአብሔር ወደ ተሰጠው ቅዱስ ሥፍራው ኑ! BSB BSB: Now do not stiffen your necks as your fathers did. Submit to the LORD and come to His sanctuary, which He has consecrated forever. Serve the LORD your God, so that His fierce anger will turn away from you.
9 ULB አምላካችሁ እግዚአብሔር ቸርና መሐሪ ስለሆነ ወደ እርሱ ብትመለሱ ፊቱን ከእናንተ ስለማይመልስ ወደ እግዚአብሔር ብትመለሱ ወንድሞቻችሁና ልጆቻችሁ እንደ እስረኛ በወሰዷቸው ሰዎች ፊት ሃዘኔታ ያገኛሉ። ወደዚህችም ምድር ይመለሳሉ። BSB BSB: For if you return to the LORD, your brothers and sons will receive mercy in the presence of their captors and will return to this land. For the LORD your God is gracious and merciful; He will not turn His face away from you if you return to Him.”
10 ULB በመሆኑም መልዕክተኞቹ እስከ ዛብሎን ድረስ በመላው የኤፍሬምና የምናሴ ክልሎች ሁሉ ከከተማ ወደ ከተማ አለፉ፤ ሕዝቡ ግን ሳቁባቸው፤ አፌዙባቸውም። BSB BSB: And the couriers traveled from city to city through the land of Ephraim and Manasseh as far as Zebulun, but the people scorned and mocked them.
11 ULB ነገር ግን የተወሰኑ የአሴርና የምናሴ የዛብሎንም ሰዎች ራሳቸውን አዋርደው ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም መጡ። BSB BSB: Nevertheless, some from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.
12 ULB በእግዚአብሔር ቃል የንጉሡንና የመሪዎቹን ትዕዛዝ ለመፈጸም አንድ ልብ ሊሰጣቸው የእግዚአብሔር እጅ በይሁዳ ላይም መጣ። BSB BSB: Moreover, the power of God was on the people in Judah to give them one heart to obey the command of the king and his officials according to the word of the LORD.
13 ULB በሁለተኛው ወር የቂጣውን በዓል ለማክበር ብዙ ሰዎች፥ እጅግ ታላቅ ጉባዔ ለማክበር በኢየሩሳሌም ተሰበሰቡ። BSB BSB: In the second month, a very great assembly gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
14 ULB ተነስተው በኢየሩሳሌም የነበሩትን መሠዊያዎችና ለጣዖታት የሚያጥኑበትን ማጠኛዎች ሁሉ አስወገዱ፤ ወደ ቄድሮን ወንዝም ጣሉአቸው። BSB BSB: They proceeded to remove the altars in Jerusalem and to take away the incense altars and throw them into the Kidron Valley.
15 ULB ከዚያም በሁለተኛው ወር በአሥራ አራተኛው ቀን የፋሲካውን ጠቦቶቹን አረዱ። ካህናቱና ሌዋውያኑ አፍረው ነበርና ራሳቸውን ለእግዚአብሔር ሰጡ። ወደ እግዚአብሔርም ቤት የሚቃጠል መሥዋዕት አመጡ። BSB BSB: And on the fourteenth day of the second month they slaughtered the Passover lamb. The priests and Levites were ashamed, and they consecrated themselves and brought burnt offerings to the house of the LORD.
16 ULB በእግዚአብሔር ሰው በሙሴ ሕግ የተሰጠውን መመሪያ በመከተል በየሥራ ክፍላቸው በቦታቸው ቆሙ፤ ካህናቱም ከሌዋውያኑ እጅ የተቀበሉትን ደም ይረጩ ነበር። BSB BSB: They stood at their prescribed posts, according to the Law of Moses the man of God. The priests splattered the blood, which they received from the hand of the Levites.
17 ULB በጉባዔው ውስጥ ራሳቸውን ለእግዚአብሔር ያልሰጡ እጅግ ብዙ ነበሩ፤ ስለዚህ ሌዋውያን ለእግዚአብሔር ጠቦቶቹን ለእግዚአብሔር ለመቀደስ ነጽተው ላልነበሩት ሰዎች ሁሉ የፋሲካውን ጠቦቶች የማረዱ ኃላፊነት የእነርሱ ነበር። BSB BSB: Since there were many in the assembly who had not consecrated themselves, the Levites were in charge of slaughtering the Passover lambs for every unclean person to consecrate the lambs to the LORD.
18 ULB እጅግ ብዙ ሰዎች ብዙዎቹም ከኤፍሬምና ከምናሴ፥ ከይሳኮርና ከዛብሎን በሕጉ መሠረት ራሳቸውን አላነጹም ነበር፤ ነገር ግን እንደ ተጻፈው ትዕዛዝ ባይሆንም የፋሲካውን ምግብ በሉ፤ ሕዝቅያስም፦" ምንም እንኳን እንደ ቅዱሱ ሥፍራ የመንጻት መለኪያ መሠረት የነጻ ባይሆንም BSB BSB: A large number of the people—many from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun—had not purified themselves, yet they ate the Passover, contrary to what was written. But Hezekiah interceded for them, saying, “May the LORD, who is good, provide atonement for everyone
19 ULB የአባቶቹን አምላክ እግዚአብሔር አምላክን ለመፈለግ በልቡ የቆረጠውን ሰው ሁሉ ቸሩ እግዚአብሔር ይቅር ይበለው" በማለት ፀልዮላቸው ነበር። BSB BSB: who sets his heart on seeking God—the LORD, the God of his fathers—even if he is not cleansed according to the purification rules of the sanctuary.”
20 ULB እግዚአብሔርም ሕዝቅያስን ሰማው፤ ሕዝቡንም ፈወሰ። BSB BSB: And the LORD heard Hezekiah and healed the people.
21 ULB በኢየሩሳሌምም ተገኝተው የነበሩ የእስራኤል ሰዎች በታላቅ ደስታ የቂጣውን በዓል ለሰባት ቀናት አከበሩ። ሌዋውያኑና ካህናቱም ድምጹ በጎላ የሙዚቃ መሣሪያ ለእግዚአብሔር በመዘመር ከእለት ወደ እለት እግዚአብሔርን ያወድሱ ነበር። BSB BSB: The Israelites who were present in Jerusalem celebrated the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days with great joy, and the Levites and priests praised the LORD day after day, accompanied by loud instruments of praise to the LORD.
22 ULB ሕዝቅያስም ለእግዚአብሔር የሚሰጠውን አገልግሎት ያስተዋሉትን ሌዋውያን ሁሉ በማበረታታት ተናገራቸው። በመሆኑም የሕብረት ሥጦታ መሥዋዕት እያቀረቡና ለአባቶቻቸው አምላክ ለእግዚአብሔር እየተናዘዙ በሰባቱ ቀናት በዓል ሁሉ ይመገቡ ነበር። BSB BSB: And Hezekiah encouraged all the Levites who performed skillfully before the LORD. For seven days they ate their assigned portion, sacrificing peace offerings and giving thanks to the LORD, the God of their fathers.
23 ULB ከዚያም መላው ጉባዔ ለሌላ ሰባት ቀናት በዓሉን ለማክበር ወሰኑ፤ እንደዚህም በደስታ አደረጉ። BSB BSB: The whole assembly agreed to observe seven more days, so they observed seven days with joy.
24 ULB የይሁዳ ንጉሥ ሕዝቅያስ ለጉባዔው እንደ ሥጦታ ሰጥቶ ነበር፤ መሪዎቹም ለጉባዔው አንድ ሺህ ወይፈኖችና አሥር ሺህ በጎችና ፍየሎች ሰጡ። ብዙ ቁጥር ያላቸው ካህናትም ራሳቸውን ለእግዚአብሔር ሰጥተው ነበር። BSB BSB: For Hezekiah king of Judah contributed a thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep for the assembly, and the officials contributed a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep for the assembly, and a great number of priests consecrated themselves.
25 ULB የይሁዳ ጉባዔ ሁሉ ከካህናቱና ከሌዋውያኑ ጋር፥ ከእስራኤል በአንድነት የመጡት ሕዝብ ሁሉ፥ እንዲሁም ከእስራኤል ምድር እና በይሁዳ ይኖሩ ከነበሩት የመጡት እንግዶች ሁሉም ደስ አላቸው። BSB BSB: Then the whole assembly of Judah rejoiced along with the priests and Levites and the whole assembly that had come from Israel, including the foreigners who had come from Israel and those who lived in Judah.
26 ULB በመሆኑም በኢየሩሳሌም ታላቅ ደስታ ነበር፤ ከእስራኤል ንጉሥ ከዳዊት ልጅ ከሰለሞን ጊዜ አንስቶ እንደዚህ ያለ ነገር በኢየሩሳሌም ምንም አልነበረም። BSB BSB: So there was great rejoicing in Jerusalem, for nothing like this had happened there since the days of Solomon son of David king of Israel.
27 ULB ከዚያም ካህናቱ፥ ሌዋውያኑ ተነስተው ሕዝቡን ባረኩ፤ ድምጻቸውም ተሰማ፤ ፀሎታቸውም ወደ እግዚአብሔር ማደሪያ ቅዱስ ሥፍራ ወደ ሰማይ አረገ። BSB BSB: Then the priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard their voice, and their prayer came into His holy dwelling place in heaven.
