1 ULB ከዚህ በኋላ አቤሴሎም ሠረገላና ፈረሶች እንዲሁም ፊት ፊቱ የሚሮጡ ሃምሳ ሰዎች ለራሱ አዘጋጀ፡፡ BSB BSB: Some time later, Absalom provided for himself a chariot with horses and fifty men to run ahead of him.
2 ULB አቤሴሎም በማለዳ ተነሥቶ ወደ ከተማይቱ መግቢያ በር በሚወስደው መንገድ ዳር ይቆማል፡፡ ሙግት ያለበት ማንኛውም ሰው ዳኝነት ለማግኘት ወደ ንጉሡ ሲመጣ፣ በዚያን ጊዜ አቤሴሎም ወደ እርሱ ይጠራውና፣ “ከየትኛው ከተማ ነው የመጣኸው?” ይለው ነበር፡፡ ሰውዬውም፣ “አገልጋይህ ከእስራኤል ነገዶች ከአንዱ ነው?” ይለው ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: He would get up early and stand beside the road leading to the city gate. Whenever anyone had a grievance to bring before the king for a decision, Absalom would call out and ask, “What city are you from?” And if he replied, “Your servant is from one of the tribes of Israel,”
3 ULB ከዚህም የተነሣ አቤሴሎም፣ “ተመልከት፣ ጉዳይህማ ትክክልና ተገቢም ነው፤ ነገር ግን ጉዳይህን ለመመልከት ከንጉሡ ሥልጣን የተሰጠው ማንም ሰው የለም፡፡” ይለው ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: Absalom would say, “Look, your claims are good and right, but the king has no deputy to hear you.”
4 ULB ከዚህ ጋር በማያያዝ አቤሴሎም፣ “ሙግት ወይም ጉዳይ ያለው ማንኛውም ሰው ወደ እኔ እንዲመጣና እኔም ፍትሕ እንድሰጠው በምድሪቱ ዳኛ ሆኜ መሾም እመኛለሁ” ይል ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: And he would add, “If only someone would appoint me judge in the land, then everyone with a grievance or dispute could come to me, and I would give him justice.”
5 ULB ስለዚህ ክብርን ሊሰጠው ማንኛውም ሰው ወደ አቤሴሎም በሚመጣበት ጊዜ አቤሴሎም እጁን ዘርግቶ ይይዘውና ይስመው ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: Also, when anyone approached to bow down to him, Absalom would reach out his hand, take hold of him, and kiss him.
6 ULB ከንጉሡ ፍትሕ ለማግኘት በሚመጡ እስራኤላውያን ሁሉ አቤሴሎም እንደዚህ ያደርግ ነበር፡፡ በዚህም ሁኔታ አቤሴሎም የእስራኤላውያንን ልብ ሰረቀ፡፡ BSB BSB: Absalom did this to all the Israelites who came to the king for justice. In this way he stole the hearts of the men of Israel.
7 ULB በአራተኛው ዓመት ፍጻሜ አቤሴሎም ለንጉሡ፣ “ለእግዚአብሔር የተሳልሁትን ስእለት ለማድረስ ወደ ኬብሮን እንድሄድ እባክህን ፍቀድልኝ፡፡ BSB BSB: After four years had passed, Absalom said to the king, “Please let me go to Hebron to fulfill a vow I have made to the LORD.
8 ULB ባሪያህ በአራም በጌሹር በነበርኩበት ጊዜ፣ ‘እግዚአብሔር በእርግጥ ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ዳግመኛ የመለሰኝ እንደሆነ በኬብሮን እሰግዳለሁ’ ብዬ ተስዬ ነበር፡፡” BSB BSB: For your servant made a vow while dwelling in Geshur of Aram, saying: ‘If indeed the LORD brings me back to Jerusalem, I will worship the LORD in Hebron.’”
9 ULB ንጉሡም፣ “በሰላም ሂድ” አለው፤ ስለዚህ አቤሴሎም ወደ ኬብሮን ሄደ፡፡ BSB BSB: “Go in peace,” said the king. So Absalom got up and went to Hebron.
10 ULB አቤሴሎም ግን ወደ መላው የእስራኤል ነገዶች፣ “የመለከትን ድምፅ በሰማችሁ ጊዜ ‘አቤሴሎም በኬብሮን ነገሠ’ ማለት ይገባችኋል” የሚሉ ሰላዮችን ላከ፡፡ BSB BSB: Then Absalom sent spies throughout the tribes of Israel with this message: “When you hear the sound of the horn, you are to say, ‘Absalom reigns in Hebron!’”
11 ULB ከአቤሴሎምም ጋር ሁለት መቶ የተጋበዙ ሰዎች ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ሄዱ፡፡ አቤሴሎም ምን እንዳቀደ ምንም ነገር ሳያውቁ በየዋህነት ነበረ የሄዱት፡፡ BSB BSB: Two hundred men from Jerusalem accompanied Absalom. They had been invited as guests and they went along innocently, for they knew nothing about the matter.
12 ULB አቤሴሎም መሥዋዕት በሚያቀርብበት ጊዜ የዳዊት አማካሪ ለሆነው ለአኪጦፌል ወደሚኖርበት ወደ ጊሎ መልእክት ላከበት፡፡ አቤሴሎምን ይከተለው የነበረው ሕዝብ እየጨመረ ስለነበረ የአቤሴሎም ሤራ ጠንካራ ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: While Absalom was offering the sacrifices, he sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, to come from his hometown of Giloh. So the conspiracy gained strength, and Absalom’s following kept increasing.
13 ULB “የእስራኤል ሰዎች ልብ አቤሴሎምን እየተከተለ ነው፡፡” የሚል መልእክተኛ ወደ ዳዊት መጣ፡፡ BSB BSB: Then a messenger came to David and reported, “The hearts of the men of Israel are with Absalom.”
14 ULB ስለዚህ ዳዊት በኢየሩሳሌም ለነበሩት አገልጋዮቹ ሁሉ፣ “ተነሡ እንሽሽ፤ ያለበለዚያ አንዳችንም ከአቤሴሎም እጅ ማምለጥ አንችልም፤ አሁኑኑ ለመውጣት ተዘጋጁ አለዚያ እርሱ መጥቶ ይይዘናል በእኛም ላይ ጥፋት ያደርስብናል፣ ከተማይቱንም በሰይፍ ይመታታል፡፡” አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: And David said to all the servants with him in Jerusalem, “Arise and let us flee, or we will not escape from Absalom! We must leave quickly, or he will soon overtake us, heap disaster on us, and put the city to the sword.”
15 ULB የንጉሡም አገልጋዮች፣ “እነሆ፣ ጌታችን የወሰነውን ማንኛውንም ለማድረግ አገልጋዮችሀ ዝግጁ ነን” በማለት ለንጉሡ ነገሩት፡፡ BSB BSB: The king’s servants replied, “Whatever our lord the king decides, we are your servants.”
16 ULB ንጉሡ ከእርሱም ጋር መላው ቤተሰቡ ሄዱ፣ ነገር ግን ቤተ መንግሥቱን ይጠብቁ ዘንድ ቁባቶች የነበሩ አሥር ሴቶችን እንዲቀሩ አደረገ፡፡ BSB BSB: Then the king set out, and his entire household followed him. But he left behind ten concubines to take care of the palace.
17 ULB ንጉሡና እርሱን ተከትሎ መላው ሕዝብ ከሄደ በኋላ ከመጨረሻው ቤተ ሲደርሱ ቆሙ፡፡ BSB BSB: So the king set out with all the people following him. He stopped at the last house,
18 ULB ሠራዊቱ ሁሉ ከእርሱ ጋር ተጓዙ፣ ከሊታውያን፣ ፈሊታውያን እንዲሁም ከጌት አብረውት የመጡት ስድስት መቶ ጌታውያን በንጉሡ ፊት አለፉ፡፡ BSB BSB: and all his servants marched past him—all the Cherethites and Pelethites, and six hundred Gittites who had followed him from Gath.
19 ULB ከዚያም ንጉሡ ጌታዊውን ኢታይን፣ “አንተ ደግሞ ከእኛ ጋር የመጣኸው ለምንድን ነው? እንግዳና ስደተኛ ነህና ተመልሰህ ሄደህ ከአቤሴሎም ጋር ቆይ፤ ወደ ራስህ አገር ሂድ፡፡ BSB BSB: Then the king said to Ittai the Gittite, “Why should you also go with us? Go back and stay with the new king, since you are both a foreigner and an exile from your homeland.
20 ULB የወጣኸው ገና ትላንት ስለሆነ፣ ከእኔ ጋር በየቦታው ለምን እንድትንከራተት ላድርግህ? ወዴት እንደምሄድ እንኳን አላውቅም፡፡ ስለዚህ ተመለስ የአገርህንም ሰዎች መልሳቸው፤ በጎነትና ታማኝነት ከአንተ ጋር ይሁን፡፡” አለው፡፡ BSB BSB: In fact, you arrived only yesterday; should I make you wander around with us today while I do not know where I am going? Go back and take your brothers with you. May the LORD show you loving devotion and faithfulness.”
21 ULB ኢታይ ግን ለንጉሡ፣ “ሕያው እግዚአብሔርን እንዲሁም በጌታዬ በንጉሡ እምላለሁ፤ ሕይወትም ይሁን ሞት ንጉሡ ወደሚሄድበት ወደየትኛውም ቦታ አገልጋይህም ይሄዳል፡፡” ብሎ መለሰለት፡፡ BSB BSB: But Ittai answered the king, “As surely as the LORD lives, and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king may be, whether it means life or death, there will your servant be!”
22 ULB ስለዚህ ዳዊት ለኢታይ፣ “እንግዲያውስ፣ ከእኛ ጋር መሄድህን ቀጥል” አለው፡፡ ከእርሱ ጋር ከነበሩት ሰዎች ሁሉና አብረውት ከነበሩት ቤተሰቦቹ ሁሉ ጋር ጌታዊው ኢታይ ከንጉሡ ጋር ተጓዘ፡፡ BSB BSB: “March on then,” said David to Ittai. So Ittai the Gittite marched past with all his men and all the little ones who were with him.
23 ULB ሕዝቡ ሁሉ ንጉሡም ራሱ የቄድሮንን ወንዝ ሲሻገሩ የአገሩ ሕዝብ ድምፁን ከፍ አድርጎ አለቀሰ፡፡ ሕዝቡ ሁሉ ወደ ምድረ-በዳ በሚወስደው መንገድ ተጓዘ፡፡ BSB BSB: Everyone in the countryside was weeping loudly as all the people passed by. And as the king crossed the Kidron Valley, all the people also passed toward the way of the wilderness.
24 ULB ሳዶቅም እንኳን የእግዚአብሔርን የኪዳን ታቦት ከተሸከሙት ሌዋውያን ጋር በዚያ ነበር፡፡ የእግዚአብሔርን ታቦት አስቀመጡትና አብያታር ከእነርሱ ጋር ሆነ፤ እነርሱም ሕዝቡ ሁሉ ከከተማይቱ እስኪወጡ ድረስ ጠበቁ፡፡ BSB BSB: Zadok was also there, and all the Levites with him were carrying the ark of the covenant of God. And they set down the ark of God, and Abiathar offered sacrifices until all the people had passed out of the city.
25 ULB ንጉሡም ሳዶቅን፣ “ታቦቱን ወደ ከተማይቱ ይዘህ ተመለስ፣ በእግዚአብሔር ፊት ሞገስ ካገኘሁ ወደዚህ መልሶ ያመጣኛል፣ ታቦቱንና እርሱም የሚኖርበትን ስፍራ እንደገና ያሳየኛል፡፡ BSB BSB: Then the king said to Zadok, “Return the ark of God to the city. If I find favor in the eyes of the LORD, He will bring me back and let me see both it and His dwelling place again.
26 ULB ነገር ግን እርሱ፣ ‘በአንተ አልተደሰትሁም’ ካለኝ፣ እነሆ፣ በፊቱ አለሁ፣ መልካም መስሎ የታየውን ያድርግብኝ፡፡” BSB BSB: But if He should say, ‘I do not delight in you,’ then here I am; let Him do to me whatever seems good to Him.”
27 ULB ንጉሡ ለካህኑ ለሳዶቅ፣ “አንተ ነቢይ አይደለህምን? አንተ ከሁለቱ ልጆችህ፣ ከልጅህ አኪማአስና ከአብያታር ልጅ ከዮናታን ጋር ሆናችሁ በሰላም ወደ ከተማይቱ ተመለሱ፡፡ BSB BSB: The king also said to Zadok the priest, “Are you not a seer? Return to the city in peace—you with your son Ahimaaz, and Abiathar with his son Jonathan.
28 ULB ከአንተ ዘንድ መልእክት እስካገኝ ድረስ፣ እነሆ፣ እኔ በአረባ በሚገኘው በወንዙ መሻገሪያ እቆያለሁ፡፡” BSB BSB: See, I will wait at the fords of the wilderness until word comes from you to inform me.”
29 ULB ስለዚህ ሳዶቅና አብያታር የእግዚአብሔርን ታቦት ይዘው ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ተመልሰው እዚያው ቆዩ፡፡ BSB BSB: So Zadok and Abiathar returned the ark of God to Jerusalem and stayed there.
30 ULB ዳዊት ግን እያለቀሰ በባዶ እግሩ የደብረ ዘይትን ተራራ ሽቅብ ወጣ፣ ራሱንም ተከናንቦ ነበር፡፡ ከእርሱ ጋር የነበረውም እያንዳንዱ ሰው ራሱን ተከናንቦ ነበር፤ እየሄዱም ሳሉ ያለቅሱ ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: But David continued up the Mount of Olives, weeping as he went up. His head was covered, and he was walking barefoot. And all the people with him covered their heads and went up, weeping as they went.
31 ULB አንድ ሰውም ለዳዊት፣ “በሤራው ውስጥ ከአቤሴሎም ጋር ካሉት አንደኛው አኪጦፌል ነው” ብሎ ነገረው፡፡ ስለዚህ ዳዊት፣ “እባክህ፣ እግዚአብሔር ሆይ፣ የአኪጦፌልን ምክር ወደ ሞኝነት ለውጠው” ብሎ ጸለየ፡፡ BSB BSB: Now someone told David: “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” So David pleaded, “O LORD, please turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness!”
32 ULB ዳዊት እግዚአብሔር ወደሚመለክበት ወደ መንገዱ ጫፍ በደረሰ ጊዜ፣ አርካዊው ኩሲ መጎናጸፊያውን ቀድዶ ትቢያ በራሱ ላይ ነስንሶ ሊገናኘው መጣ፡፡ BSB BSB: When David came to the summit, where he used to worship God, Hushai the Archite was there to meet him with his robe torn and dust on his head.
33 ULB ዳዊትም ለእርሱ፣ “አብረኸኝ ብትሄድ ሸክም ትህንብኛለህ፤ BSB BSB: David said to him, “If you go on with me, you will be a burden to me.
34 ULB ነገር ግን ወደ ከተማይቱ ተመልሰህ አቤሴሎምን ‘ንጉሥ ሆይ፣ አገልጋይህ እሆናለሁ፣ ቀድሞ የአባትህ አገልጋይ እንደ ነበርሁ ሁሉ አሁን ደግሞ የአንተ አገልጋይ እሆናለሁ’ ብትለው የአኪጦፌልን ምክር በማደናገር ትረዳኛለህ፡፡ BSB BSB: But you can thwart the counsel of Ahithophel for me if you return to the city and say to Absalom: ‘I will be your servant, my king; in the past I was your father’s servant, but now I will be your servant.’
35 ULB ካህናቱ ሳዶቅና አብያታር እዚያው ከአንተ ጋር አሉልህ አይደለምን? በንጉሡ ቤተ መንግሥት የምትሰማውን ማንኛውንም ነገር ለካህናቱ ለሳዶቅና ለአብያታር መንገር አለብህ፡፡ BSB BSB: Will not Zadok and Abiathar the priests be there with you? Report to them everything you hear from the king’s palace.
36 ULB የሳዶቅ ልጅ አኪማአስና የአብያታር ልጅ ዮናታን ሁለቱ ወንዶች ልጆች በዚያ አብረዋቸው መሆናቸውን አረጋግጥ፡፡ የምትሰማውን ማንኛውንም ነገር በእነርሱ በኩል ላክልኝ፡፡” BSB BSB: Indeed, their two sons, Ahimaaz son of Zadok and Jonathan son of Abiathar, are there with them. Send them to me with everything you hear.”
37 ULB ስለዚህ የዳዊት ወዳጅ ኩሲ አቤሴሎም ኢየሩሳሌም በገባበት በዚያው ወቅት ወደ ከተማይቱ መጣ፡፡ BSB BSB: So David’s friend Hushai arrived in Jerusalem just as Absalom was entering the city.
