1 ULB ሐዋርያትና በይሁዳ የነበሩት ወንድሞች አሕዛብ ደግሞ የእግዚአብሔርን ቃል ተቀብለው እንደ ነበር ሰሙ። BSB BSB: The apostles and brothers throughout Judea soon heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.
2 ULB ጴጥሮስም ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ወጥቶ በነበረ ጊዜ፣ ከመገረዝ ወገን የነበሩት ነቀፉት፤ BSB BSB: So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers took issue with him
3 ULB “ካልተገረዙ ወንዶች ጋር ተባብረሃል፣ አብረሃቸውም በልተሃል!” አሉት። BSB BSB: and said, “You visited uncircumcised men and ate with them.”
4 ULB ጴጥሮስ ግን እንዲህ ብሎ ጉዳዩን በዝርዝር ያብራራላቸው ጀመር፤ BSB BSB: But Peter began and explained to them the whole sequence of events:
5 ULB እኔ በኢዮጴ ከተማ እጸልይ ነበር፤ በተመስጦም አራት ማዕዘን ያለው ታላቅ ሸማ የመሰለ ዕቃ መያዣ ከሰማይ ሲወርድ ራእይ ዐየሁ፤ ወደ እኔ ወረደ፣ BSB BSB: “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision of something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came right down to me.
6 ULB ትኵር ብዬ ተመለክትሁትና ስለ እርሱ ዐሰብሁ። አራት እግር ያላቸው የምድር እንስሳትን፣ አራዊትን፣ የሚሳቡ ፍጥረታትን፣ የሰማይ አዕዋፍንም ዐየሁ። BSB BSB: I looked at it closely and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles, and birds of the air.
7 ULB በዚያን ጊዜ አንድ ድምፅ፣ “ጴጥሮስ ሆይ፣ ተነሣ፣ አርደህም ብላ!” ሲለኝ ሰማሁ። BSB BSB: Then I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Get up, Peter, kill and eat.’
8 ULB “ጌታ ሆይ፣ አይሆንም፣ ምክንያቱም ጸያፍ ወይም ርኩስ የሆነ ምንም ነገር ከቶ ወደ አፌ ገብቶ አያውቅም” አልሁ። BSB BSB: ‘No, Lord,’ I said, ‘for nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’
9 ULB ነገር ግን ድምፁ ዳግመኛ ከሰማይ፣ “እግዚአብሔር ንጹሕ ነው ያለውን አንተ ርኩስ ብለህ አትጥራው” ብሎ መለሰ። BSB BSB: But the voice spoke from heaven a second time, ‘Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.’
10 ULB ይህም ሦስት ጊዜ ሆነ፤ ከዚያም ሁሉም ነገር እንደ ገና ወደ ሰማይ ተወሰደ። BSB BSB: This happened three times, and everything was drawn back up into heaven.
11 ULB እነሆ፣ ወዲያውኑ እኛ በነበርንበት ቤት ፊት ለፊት ሦስት ሰዎች ቆመው ነበር፤ እነርሱም ከቂሣርያ ወደ እኔ የተላኩ ናቸው። BSB BSB: Just then three men sent to me from Caesarea stopped at the house where I was staying.
12 ULB መንፈስም ከእነርሱ ጋር እንድሄድ፣ ስለ እነርሱም ልዩነት እንዳላደርግ አዘዘኝ። እነዚህ ስድስት ወንድሞች አብረውኝ ሄዱ፤ ወደ ሰውዬውም ቤት ገባን። BSB BSB: The Spirit told me to accompany them without hesitation. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man’s home.
14 ULB አንተና ቤተ ሰቦችህ ሁሉ የምትድኑበትን መልእክት ይነግርሃል።” BSB BSB: He will convey to you a message by which you and all your household will be saved.’
15 ULB ለእነርሱ መናገር እንደ ጀመረና ልክ በመጀመሪያ በእኛ ላይ እንደ ሆነው፣ መንፈስ ቅዱስ በእነርሱ ላይ ወረደ። BSB BSB: As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just as He had fallen upon us at the beginning.
16 ULB “ዮሐንስ በእርግጥ በውሃ አጥምቆ ነበር፤ እናንተ ግን በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ትጠመቃላችሁ” ብሎ እንደ ተናገረ፣ የጌታን ቃሎች አስታወስሁ። BSB BSB: Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’
17 ULB እኛ በጌታ በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ባመንን ጊዜ እንደ ሰጠን ያለ ስጦታ እግዚአብሔር ለእነርሱ ከሰጣቸው እንግዲያ፣ እግዚአብሔርን እቃወም ዘንድ እኔ ማን ነበርሁ?” BSB BSB: So if God gave them the same gift He gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to hinder the work of God?”
18 ULB እነርሱ እነዚህን ነገሮች በሰሙ ጊዜ፣ መልስ አልሰጡም፤ ነገር ግን እግዚአብሔርን አመስግነው፣ “እግዚአብሔር ለአሕዛብ ለሕይወት የሚሆን ንስሓን ደግሞ ሰጥቷቸዋል” አሉ። BSB BSB: When they heard this, they had no further objections, and they glorified God, saying, “So then, God has granted even the Gentiles repentance unto life.”
19 ULB ስለዚህ በእስጢፋኖስ መሞት የተጀመረው ሥቃይ ከኢየሩሳሌም የበተናቸው እነዚህ አማኞች እስከ ፊንቄ፣ ቆጵሮስና አንጾኪያ ድረስ ሄዱ። ስለ ኢየሱስ የሚናገረውን መልእክት ለአይሁድ ብቻ እንጂ ለሌላ ለማንም አልተናገሩም። BSB BSB: Meanwhile those scattered by the persecution that began with Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the message only to Jews.
21 ULB የጌታም እጅ ከእነርሱ ጋር ነበረ፤ በቍጥ ብዛት ያላቸው ሰዎች አምነው ወደ ጌታ ዘወር አሉ። BSB BSB: The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.
22 ULB ስለ እነርሱ ወሬ በኢየሩሳሌም ባለችው ጉባኤ ተሰማ፤ በርናባስንም እስከ አንጾኪያ ላኩት። BSB BSB: When news of this reached the ears of the church in Jerusalem, they sent Barnabas to Antioch.
23 ULB እርሱም መጥቶ የእግዚአብሔርን ስጦታ ባየ ጊዜ፣ ደስ አለው። ከሙሉ ልባቸው ከጌታ ጋር እንዲኖሩ ሁላቸውንም አበረታታቸው። BSB BSB: When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced and encouraged them all to abide in the Lord with all their hearts.
24 ULB ምክንያቱም እርሱ መንፈስ ቅዱስና እምነት የሞላበት በጎ ሰው ነበር፤ ብዙ ሕዝብም ወደ ጌታ ተጨመሩ። BSB BSB: Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.
25 ULB ከዚያም በርናባስ ሳውልን ሊፈልግ ወደ ጠርሴስ ወጣ። BSB BSB: Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul,
26 ULB ባገኘውም ጊዜ፣ ወደ አንጾኪያ አመጣው። እንዲህም ሆነ፣ አንድ ዓመት ሙሉ በቤተ ክርስቲያን አብረው ተሰበሰቡ፣ ብዙ ሕዝብንም አስተማሩ። ደቀ መዛሙርቱ በመጀመሪያ በአንጾኪያ ክርስቲያን ተባሉ። BSB BSB: and when he found him, he brought him back to Antioch. So for a full year they met together with the church and taught large numbers of people. The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.
27 ULB በእነዚያ ቀናትም አንዳንድ ነቢያት ከኢየሩሳሌም ወደ አንጾኪያ ወረዱ። BSB BSB: In those days some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.
28 ULB ከእነርሱ አንዱ አጋቦስ የተባለው፣ ተነሥቶ ቆመና በመላው ዓለም ላይ ታላቅ ራብ እንደሚሆን በመንፈስ አመለከተ። ይህም በቀላውዴዎስ ዘመን ሆነ። BSB BSB: One of them named Agabus stood up and predicted through the Spirit that a great famine would sweep across the whole world. (This happened under Claudius.)
29 ULB ስለ ሆነም፣ ደቀ መዛሙርቱ እያንዳንዳቸው እንደ ዐቅማቸው በይሁዳ ላሉት ወንድሞች እርዳታ ለመላክ ወሰኑ። BSB BSB: So the disciples, each according to his ability, decided to send relief to the brothers living in Judea.
30 ULB ይህንም አደረጉ፤ በበርናባስና በሳውል እጅ ለሽማግሌዎቹ ገንዘብ ላኩ። BSB BSB: This they did, sending their gifts to the elders with Barnabas and Saul.
