1. 1ULBበአንጾኪያም ባለችው ጉባኤ አንዳንድ ነቢያትና መምህራን ነበሩ። እነርሱም በርናባስ፣ ኔጌር የተባለው ስምዖን፣ የቀሬናው ወንድሙ ምናሔ፣ ሳውልም ነበሩ።BSBBSB: Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch), and Saul.
2. 2ULBጌታን እያመለኩና እየጾሙ እያሉ፣ መንፈስ ቅዱስ፣ “ለጠራኋቸው ሥራ በርናባስንና ሳውልን ለዩልኝ” አለ።BSBBSB: While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
3. 3ULBጉባኤው ከጾመ፣ ከጸለየና እጅ ከጫነም በኋላ አሰናበታቸው።BSBBSB: And after they had fasted and prayed, they laid their hands on them and sent them off.
4. 4ULBበርናባስና ሳውልም ለመንፈስ ቅዱስ ታዘዙና ወደ ሴሌውቅያ ወረዱ፤ ከዚያም በመርከብ ወደ ቆጵሮስ ደሴት ሄዱ።BSBBSB: So Barnabas and Saul, sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus.
5. 5ULBበስልማና ከተማ በነበሩ ጊዜም፣ በአይሁድ ምኵራቦች የእግዚአብሔርን ቃል ሰበኩ። ማርቆስ የተባለው ዮሐንስ ሊረዳቸው አብሯቸው ነበር።BSBBSB: When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. And John was with them as their helper.
6. 6ULBበደሴቲቱም ሁሉ እስከ ጳፉ በሄዱ ጊዜ፣ ስሙ በርያሱስ የተባለ፣ አንድ አይሁዳዊ የሐሰት ነቢይና አስማተኛ አገኙ።BSBBSB: They traveled through the whole island as far as Paphos, where they found a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus,
7. 7ULBይህ አስማተኛ አስተዋይ ሰው ከነበረው ሰርግዮስ ጳውሎስ ከተባለው አገረ ገዥ ጋር ተባበረ። ይህ ሰው የእግዚአብሔርን ቃል መስማት ስለ ፈለገ፣ በርናባስናን ሳውልን ጠራ።BSBBSB: an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, a man of intelligence, summoned Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God.
8. 8ULBነገር ግን፣ “አስማተኛው” ኤልማስ ስሙ ሲተረጎም እንዲሁ ነውና ተቃወማቸው፤ አገረ ገዡን ከእምነቱ ለመመለስ ሞከረ።BSBBSB: But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith.
9. 9ULBደግሞ ጳውሎስ የተባለው ሳውል ግን በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ተሞላ፤ ትኵር ብሎም ተመለከተውናBSBBSB: Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked directly at Elymas
10. 10ULBእንዲህ አለው፤ “አንተ የዲያብሎስ ልጅ፣ ክፋትና ተንኮል ሁሉ የሞላብህ ነህ። የጽድቅ ሁሉ ጠላት ነህ። የቀናችውን የጌታን መንገድ ማጣመምህን አታቆምምን?BSBBSB: and said, “O child of the devil and enemy of all righteousness, you are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery! Will you never stop perverting the straight ways of the Lord?
11. 11ULBአሁንም ተመልከት፤ የጌታ እጅ በአንተ ላይ ነችና ትታወራለህ። ለጥቂት ጊዜ ፀሐይን አታይም።” ወዲያውኑ በኤልማስ ጨለማና ጭጋግ ወደቀበት፤ እጁንም ይዘው እንዲመሩት ሰዎችን እየጠየቀ ይዘዋወር ጀመር።BSBBSB: Now look, the hand of the Lord is against you, and for a time you will be blind and unable to see the light of the sun.” Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand.
12. 12ULBአገረ ገዡ የሆነውን ካየ በኋላ፣ ስለ ኢየሱስ በቀረበው ትምህርት ስለ ተደነቀ፣ አመነ።BSBBSB: When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was astonished at the teaching about the Lord.
13. 13ULBጳውሎስና ጓደኞቹም በመርከብ ከጳፉ ተነሥተው በጵንፍልያ ወዳለችው ወደ ጴርጌን መጡ። ዮሐንስ ግን ትቶአቸው ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ተመለሰ።BSBBSB: After setting sail from Paphos, Paul and his companions came to Perga in Pamphylia, where John left them to return to Jerusalem.
14. 14ULBጳውሎስና ጓደኞቹ ከጴርጌን ተጕዘው የጲስድያ ወደ ሆነችው አንጾኪያ መጡ። በዚያ በሰንበት ቀን ወደ ምኵራብ ገብተው ተቀመጡ።BSBBSB: And from Perga, they traveled inland to Pisidian Antioch, where they entered the synagogue on the Sabbath and sat down.
15. 15ULBሕግና ነቢያት ከተነበቡ በኋላ፣ የምኵራብ አለቆች፣ “ወንድሞች ሆይ፣ እዚህ ላሉት ሕዝብ የሚሆን የሚያበረታታ መልእክት ካላችሁ፣ ተናገሩ” በማለት መልእክት ላኩላቸው።BSBBSB: After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the synagogue leaders sent word to them: “Brothers, if you have a word of encouragement for the people, please speak.”
16. 16ULBጳውሎስም ቆመና በእጁ ምልክት ሰጥቶ እንዲህ አለ፤ “የእስራኤል ሰዎችና እናንተ እግዚአብሔርን የምታከብሩ፣ ስሙ።BSBBSB: Paul stood up, motioned with his hand, and began to speak: “Men of Israel and you Gentiles who fear God, listen to me!
17. 17ULBየዚህ የእስራኤል ሕዝብ አምላክ አባቶቻችንን መርጦ በግብፅ ይኖሩ በነበሩበት ጊዜ፣ ሕዝቡን አበዛላቸው፤ በተዘረጋችም ክንድ መርቶ ከዚያ አወጣቸው።BSBBSB: The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers. He made them into a great people during their stay in Egypt, and with an uplifted arm He led them out of that land.
18. 18ULBለአርባ ዓመታት ገደማ በምድረ በዳ ታገሣቸው።BSBBSB: He endured their conduct for about forty years in the wilderness.
19. 19ULBበከነዓን ምድርም ሰባት ሕዝቦችን ካጠፋ በኋላ፣ ምድራቸውን ለሕዝባችን ርስት አድርጎ ሰጠ።BSBBSB: And having vanquished seven nations in Canaan, He gave their land to His people as an inheritance.
20. 20ULBእነዚህ ሁነቶች ሁሉ በአራት መቶ ሃምሳ ዓመታት ውስጥ ተፈጸሙ። ከእነዚህ ነገሮች ሁሉ በኋላ፣ እግዚአብሔር እስከ ነቢዩ ሳሙኤል ድረስ መሳፍንትን ሰጣቸው።BSBBSB: All this took about 450 years. After this, God gave them judges until the time of Samuel the prophet.
21. 21ULBከዚህ በኋላ፣ ሕዝቡ ንጉሥ ይንገሥልን ብለው ጠየቁ፤ ስለሆነም፣ እግዚአብሔር ከብንያም ነገድ የሆነውን የቂስን ልጅ ሳኦልን ለአርባ ዓመታት ሰጣቸው።BSBBSB: Then the people asked for a king, and God gave them Saul son of Kish, from the tribe of Benjamin, who ruled forty years.
22. 22ULBከዚያም እግዚአብሔር እርሱን ከንጉሥነት ከሻረው በኋላ፣ ንጉሣቸው እንዲሆን ዳዊትን አስነሣ። እግዚአብሔር፣ ‘እንደ ልቤ የሆነውን የእሴይን ልጅ ዳዊትን አገኘሁ፤ እርሱ እኔ የምፈልገውን ሁሉ ያደርጋል’ በማለት ስለ ዳዊት ተናግሮ ነበር።BSBBSB: After removing Saul, He raised up David as their king and testified about him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse a man after My own heart; he will carry out My will in its entirety.’
23. 23ULBከዚህም ሰው ዘር እግዚአብሔር ተስፋ እንደ ሰጠ አዳኝ ኢየሱስን ለእስራኤል አመጣ።BSBBSB: From the descendants of this man, God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus, as He promised.
24. 24ULBይህ መሆን የጀመረው ኢየሱስ ከመምጣቱ በፊት፣ ዮሐንስ መጀመሪያ ለእስራኤል ሕዝብ ሁሉ የንስሐን ጥምቀት ባወጀ ጊዜ ነው።BSBBSB: Before the arrival of Jesus, John preached a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
25. 25ULBዮሐንስ ሥራውን እንደ ጨረሰ እንዲህ አለ፤ ‘ማን እንደ ሆንሁ ታስባላችሁ? እኔ እርሱ አይደለሁም። ነገር ግን ስሙ፤ የጫማውን ማሰሪያ መፍታት ከማይገባኝ ከእኔ በኋላ እርሱ ይመጣል።’BSBBSB: As John was completing his course, he said, ‘Who do you suppose I am? I am not that One. But there is One coming after me whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.’
26. 26ULBወንድሞች፣ የአብርሃም ዘር ልጆች፣ እግዚአብሔርንም የምታመልኩ ሆይ፣ የዚህ ድነት መልእክት የተላከው ለእኛ ነው።BSBBSB: Brothers, children of Abraham, and you Gentiles who fear God, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent.
27. 27ULBበኢየሩሳሌም የሚኖሩ፣ አለቆቻቸውም በእርግጥ ኢየሱስን አላወቁትም፤ በየሰንበቱ የሚነበበውን የነቢያትን ድምፅም በእውነት አልተረዱም፤ ስለ ሆነም በኢየሱስ ላይ ሞት በመፍረድ የነቢያትን ቃል ፈጸሙ።BSBBSB: The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus, yet in condemning Him they fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath.
28. 28ULBምንም እንኳ በእርሱ ላይ ለሞት የሚያበቃ ምክንያት ባያገኙም፣ እንዲገድለው ጲላጦስን ለመኑት።BSBBSB: And though they found no ground for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have Him executed.
29. 29ULBስለ እርሱ የተጻፈውን ሁሉ በፈጸሙ ጊዜም፣ ከዕንጨት ላይ አውርደው በመቃብር አኖሩት።BSBBSB: When they had carried out all that was written about Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb.
30. 30ULBእግዚአብሔር ግን ከሙታን አስነሣው።BSBBSB: But God raised Him from the dead,
31. 31ULBከእርሱ ጋር ከገሊላ ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም የወጡት ብዙዎች ለአያሌ ቀናት ዐዩት። እነዚህ ሰዎች አሁን ለሕዝቡ የሚናገሩ የእርሱ ምስክሮች ናቸው።BSBBSB: and for many days He was seen by those who had accompanied Him from Galilee to Jerusalem. They are now His witnesses to our people.
32. 32ULBስለ ሆነም እኛ ለአባቶቻችን ስለ ተሰጠው ተስፋ የሚናገር የምሥራች እናመጣላችኋለን፤BSBBSB: And now we proclaim to you the good news: What God promised our fathers
33. 33ULBኢየሱስን ከሙታን በማስነሣት እግዚአብሔር እነዚህን ተስፋዎች ለእኛ ለልጆቻቸው ጠብቆአል። ይህም ደግሞ በሁለተኛው መዝሙር፦ ‘አንተ ልጄ ነህ፣ እኔ ዛሬ ወለድሁህ’ ተብሎ የተጻፈ ነው።’BSBBSB: He has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written in the second Psalm: ‘You are My Son; today I have become Your Father.’
34. 34ULBደግሞም ሥጋው እንዳይበሰብስ ከሙታን እንዳስነሣው፦ ‘የተቀደሰውንና እውነተኛውን የዳዊት በረከት እሰጥሃለሁ’ ብሎ ተናግሯል።BSBBSB: In fact, God raised Him from the dead, never to see decay. As He has said: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.’
35. 35ULBበሌላ መዝሙርም፣ ‘ቅዱስህ መበስበስን እንዲያይ አትፈቅድም’ የሚለው ስለዚህ ነው።BSBBSB: So also, He says in another Psalm: ‘You will not let Your Holy One see decay.’
36. 36ULBዳዊትም በዘመኑ የእግዚአብሔርን ዐሳብ አገልግሎ አንቀላፋ፤ ከአባቶቹ ጋር ተቀበረ፤ መበስበስንም ዐየ።BSBBSB: For when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep. His body was buried with his fathers and saw decay.
37. 37ULBእግዚአብሔር ያስነሣው ኢየሱስ ግን መበስበስን አላየም።BSBBSB: But the One whom God raised from the dead did not see decay.
38. 38ULBስለ ሆነም ወንድሞች ሆይ፣ በዚህ ሰው በኩል የኃጢአት ይቅርታ እንደ ተሰበከላችሁ ይህ ለእናንተ የታወቀ ይሁን።BSBBSB: Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.
39. 39ULBበሙሴም ሕግ እንድትጸድቁበት ከማይቻላችሁ ሁሉ፣ በእርሱ የሚያምን ሁሉ ጸድቆአል።BSBBSB: Through Him everyone who believes is justified from everything from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.
40. 40ULBእንግዲያው ነቢያት እንዲህ ሲሉ የተናገሩለት ነገር እንዳይደርስባችሁ ተጠንቀቁ፦BSBBSB: Watch out, then, that what was spoken by the prophets does not happen to you:
41. 41ULB‘እናንተ የምትንቁ፣ ተመልከቱ፤ ተደነቁ፣ ጥፉም፤ አንድ ስንኳ ቢነግራችሁ ከቶ የማታምኑትን ሥራ፣ በዘመናችሁ እሠራለሁና።’”BSBBSB: ‘Look, you scoffers, wonder and perish! For I am doing a work in your days that you would never believe, even if someone told you.’”
42. 42ULBጳውሎስና በርናባስ እንደ ወጡ፣ በሚቀጥለው ሰንበት ይህንኑ ቃል ደግመው እንዲናገሩ ሕዝቡ ለመኑአቸው።BSBBSB: As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the synagogue, the people urged them to continue this message on the next Sabbath.
43. 43ULBየምኵራቡ ስብሰባ እንዳበቃም፣ ከአይሁድና ወደ ይሁዲነት ከገቡ ከሚያመልኩ ብዙዎቹ፣ በእግዚአብሔር ጸጋ እንዲጸኑ የመከሩአቸውን ጳውሎስና በርናባስን ተከተሉአቸው።BSBBSB: After the synagogue was dismissed, many of the Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who spoke to them and urged them to continue in the grace of God.
44. 44ULBበሚቀጥለውም ሰንበት፣ ጥቂቶች ሲቀሩ፣ መላው ከተማ የጌታን ቃል ለመስማት አንድ ላይ ተሰበሰበ።BSBBSB: On the following Sabbath, nearly the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord.
45. 45ULBአይሁድ ሕዝቡን ባዩ ጊዜ፣ ቅንዓት ሞላባቸውና ጳውሎስ የተናገረውን ተቃወሙ፣ ሰደቡትም።BSBBSB: But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy, and they blasphemously contradicted what Paul was saying.
46. 46ULBጳውሎስና በርናባስ በድፍረት ተናገሩ፤ እንዲህም አሉ፤ “የእግዚአብሔር ቃል መጀመሪያ ለእናንተ መነገሩ አስፈላጊ ነበር። ቃሉን ከራሳችሁ ስትገፉትና ለዘላለም ሕይወት የተገባችሁ እንዳልሆናችሁ ራሳችሁን ስትቈጥሩ ዐይተናችሁ፣ ወደ አሕዛብ ዘወር የምንል መሆናችንን ተመልከቱ።BSBBSB: Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. But since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.
47. 47ULBጌታ፣ ‘እስከ ምድር ዳርቻ ድረስ ለድነት ትሆን ዘንድ፣ ለአሕዛብ ብርሃን አድርጌሃለሁ’” በማለት አዞናልና።BSBBSB: For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”
48. 48ULBአሕዛብ ይህን እንደ ሰሙ ደስ አላቸው። የጌታንም ቃል አከበሩ። ለዘላለም ሕይወት የተመረጡትም አመኑ።BSBBSB: When the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the word of the Lord, and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.
49. 49ULBየጌታም ቃል በአገሩ ሁሉ ተስፋፋ።BSBBSB: And the word of the Lord spread throughout that region.
50. 50ULBአይሁድ ግን የሚያመልኩትን ታዋቂ ሴቶችን፣ የከተማይቱን ታላላቅ ወንዶችንም ቀሰቀሱ። በጳውሎስና በበርናባስ ላይም ስደት አስነሥተው ከከተማቸው ዳርቻ ወዲያ አውጥተው ጣሏቸው።BSBBSB: The Jews, however, incited the religious women of prominence and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas and drove them out of their district.
51. 51ULBጳውሎስና በርናባስ ግን የእግራቸውን ትቢያ አራገፉባቸው። ከዚያም ወደ ኢቆንዮን ከተማ ሄዱ።BSBBSB: So they shook the dust off their feet in protest against them and went to Iconium.
52. 52ULBደቀ መዛሙርቱም ደስታና መንፈስ ቅዱስ ተሞልተው ነበር።BSBBSB: And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
