1 ULB በኢቆንዮንም እንዲህ ሆነ፤ ጳውሎስና በርናባስ ወደ አይሁድ ምኵራብ አብረው ገብተው፣ ከአይሁድና ከግሪክ ብዙ ሰዎች እስኪያምኑ ድረስ ተናገሩ። BSB BSB: At Iconium, Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue, where they spoke so well that a great number of Jews and Greeks believed.
2 ULB ነገር ግን ማመን ያልፈለጉ አይሁድ የአሕዛብን ልብ በመቀስቀስ በወንድሞች ላይ በክፋት አነሣሡአቸው። BSB BSB: But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers.
3 ULB ጳውሎስና በርናባስም በጌታ ኀይል በድፍረት እየተናገሩ ረዘም ላለ ጊዜ በዚያ ተቀመጡ፤ ጌታም ስለ ጸጋው የሚነገረውን መልእክት በማስረጃ ለመደገፍ ጳውሎስና በርናባስ ምልክትና ድንቅ በእጃቸው እንዲደረግ ሰጠ። BSB BSB: So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who affirmed the message of His grace by enabling them to perform signs and wonders.
4 ULB የከተማዋ አብዛኛው ሕዝብ ግን፣ አንዳንዱ አይሁድን በመደገፍ፣ ሌላው ደግሞ ከሐዋርያት ጋር በመቆም ተከፋፈሉ። BSB BSB: The people of the city were divided. Some sided with the Jews, and others with the apostles.
5 ULB አሕዛብና አይሁድ ጳውሎስንና በርናባስን እንዲያንገላቷቸውና በድንጋይም እንዲወግሯቸው አለቆቻቸውን በማሳመን ጥረት ማድረጋቸውን BSB BSB: But when the Gentiles and Jews, together with their rulers, set out to mistreat and stone them,
6 ULB በተረዱ ጊዜ፣ ወደ ሊቃኦንያ ከተሞች፣ ወደ ልስጥራና ወደ ደርቤ፣ እንዲሁም በአካባቢው ወዳለው ስፍራ ሸሹ፤ BSB BSB: they found out about it and fled to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra and Derbe and to the surrounding region,
7 ULB በዚያም ወንጌልን ይሰብኩ ነበር። BSB BSB: where they continued to preach the gospel.
8 ULB በእግሩ መቆም የማይችልና ሽባ ከእናቱም ማሕፀን ጀምሮ አንካሳ የሆነ አንድ ሰው ተቀምጦ ነበር። BSB BSB: In Lystra there sat a man crippled in his feet, who was lame from birth and had never walked.
9 ULB ይህ ሰው ጳውሎስ ሲናገር ሰማ። ጳውሎስም ዐይኑን ተከትሎ ይህን ሰው ሲመለከት ለመዳን የሚያስችል እምነት እንዳለው አየ። BSB BSB: This man was listening to the words of Paul, who looked intently at him and saw that he had faith to be healed.
10 ULB ስለዚህ ድምፁን ከፍ አድርጎ፣ “ቀጥ ብለህ በእግርህ ቁም” አለው፤ ሰውየውም ብድግ ብሎ ተነሣና ወዲያ ወዲህ ይመላለስ ጀመር። BSB BSB: In a loud voice Paul called out, “Stand up on your feet!” And the man jumped up and began to walk.
11 ULB ሕዝቡም ጳውሎስ ያደረገውን ባዩ ጊዜ፣ ድምፃቸውን ከፍ አድርገው፣ በሊቃኦንኛ ቋንቋ፣ «አማልክት በሰዎች መልክ ወደ እኛ ወርደዋል» አሉ። BSB BSB: When the crowds saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices in the Lycaonian language: “The gods have come down to us in human form!”
12 ULB ስለዚህም በርናባስን «ድያ» አሉት፤ ጳውሎስም ዋነኛ ተናጋሪ ስለ ነበር፣ «ሄርሜን» አሉት። BSB BSB: Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.
13 ULB ቤተ ጣዖቱ ከከተማው ውጭ የነበረው የድያ ካህን በሬዎችንና የአበባ ጕንጕን ይዞ ወደ ከተማይቱ በር መጣ፤ እርሱና ሕዝቡም ለእነ ጳውሎስ መሥዋዕት ሊያቀርቡላቸው ፈለጉ። BSB BSB: The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought bulls and wreaths to the city gates, hoping to offer a sacrifice along with the crowds.
14 ULB ነገር ግን ሐዋርያቱ፣ ባርናባስና ጳውሎስ ይህን በሰሙ ጊዜ፣ ልብሳቸውን ቀደው በመጮኽ፣ ፈጥነው ወደ ሕዝቡ መካከል ገቡ፤ BSB BSB: But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul found out about this, they tore their clothes and rushed into the crowd, shouting,
15 ULB እንዲህም አሉ፤ «እናንተ ሰዎች፣ ለምን እነዚህን ነገሮች ታደርጋላችሁ? እኛኮ እንደ እናንተው ዐይነት ስሜት ያለን ሰዎች ነን፤ ወደ እናንተም የመጣነው ከእነዚህ ከንቱ ነገሮች፦ ሰማያትን፣ ምድርንና ባሕርን፣ በውስጣቸውም የሚኖሩትን ሁሉ ወደ ፈጠረ፣ ወደ ሕያው እግዚአብሔር እንድትመለሱ የምሥራች ቃል ይዘን ነው። BSB BSB: “Men, why are you doing this? We too are only men, human like you. We are bringing you good news that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them.
16 ULB እግዚአብሔር ባለፉት ዘመናት አሕዛብን ሁሉ በገዛ መንገዳቸው እንዲሄዱ ተዋቸው። BSB BSB: In past generations, He let all nations go their own way.
17 ULB ይሁን እንጂ፣ ራሱን ያለ ምስክር አልተወም፤ ምክንያቱም መልካም ሥራ በመሥራት የሰማይን ዝናብና ፍሬያማ ወቅቶችን ሰጥቶአችኋል፤ ልባችሁንም በምግብና በርካታ ሞልቷል።" BSB BSB: Yet He has not left Himself without testimony to His goodness: He gives you rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.”
18 ULB ጳውሎስና በርናባስ እንደዚህ እየተናገሩም እንኳ፣ ሕዝቡ እንዳይሠዉላቸው መከልከሉ ቀላል አልነበረም። BSB BSB: Even with these words, Paul and Barnabas could hardly stop the crowds from sacrificing to them.
19 ULB ይልቁንም አንዳንድ አይሁድ ከአንጾኪያና ከኢቆንዮን መጥተው ሕዝቡን በማግባባት ጳውሎስን በድንጋይ ወገሩት፤ የሞተ ስለ መሰላቸውም በመሬት ላይ ጎትተው ከከተማው አወጡት። BSB BSB: Then some Jews arrived from Antioch and Iconium and won over the crowds. They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, presuming he was dead.
20 ULB ይሁን እንጂ፣ ደቀ መዛሙርቱ አብረውት ቆመው ሳሉ፣ ተነሥቶ ወደ ከተማው ገባ። በማግስቱም ከበርናባስ ጋር ወደ ደርቤ ሄደ። BSB BSB: But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. And the next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe.
21 ULB በዚያም ከተማ ወንጌልን ሰብከው ብዙ ደቀ መዛሙርትን ካፈሩ በኋላ፣ ወደ ልስጥራ፣ ወደ ኢቆንዮንና ወደ አንጾኪያ ተመለሱ። BSB BSB: They preached the gospel to that city and made many disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch,
22 ULB የደቀ መዛሙርቱንም ልብ እያበረቱ በእምነት እንዲጸኑ መከሯቸው። ወደ እግዚአብሔር መንግሥት ለመግባት በብዙ መከራ ውስጥ ማለፍ እንዳለብንም ነገሯቸው። BSB BSB: strengthening the souls of the disciples and encouraging them to continue in the faith. “We must endure many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.
23 ULB ጳውሎስና በርናባስ በአማኞች ጉባኤ ሁሉ የቤተ ክርስቲያን ሽማግሌዎችን ከሾሙ በኋላ፣ ላመኑበት ጌታ በጾምና በጸሎት ዐደራ ሰጡአቸው። BSB BSB: Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church, praying and fasting as they entrusted them to the Lord, in whom they had believed.
24 ULB ከዚያም በጲስድያ አድርገው ወደ ጵንፍልያ መጡ። BSB BSB: After passing through Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia.
25 ULB ቃሉን በጴርጌን ከተናገሩ በኋላም ወደ አጣሊያ ወረዱ። BSB BSB: And when they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.
26 ULB ለፈጸሙት ሥራ ከዚህ ቀደም ለእግዚአብሔር ጸጋ ወደ ተሰጡበት፣ወደ አንጾኪያ በመርከብ ሄዱ። BSB BSB: From Attalia they sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work they had just completed.
27 ULB አንጾኪያ ደርሰው፣ ጉባኤውን በአንድነት ከሰበሰቡ በኋላም፣ እግዚአብሔር ከእነርሱ ጋር ሆኖ የሠራውን ሁሉና ለአሕዛብም የእምነትን በር እንዴት እንደ ከፈተላቸው ተናገሩ። BSB BSB: When they arrived, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them, and how He had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.
28 ULB በዚያም ከደቀ መዛሙርቱ ጋር ረጅም ጊዜ ቆዩ። BSB BSB: And they spent a long time there with the disciples.
