1. 1ULBአንዳንድ ሰዎች ከአይሁድ ወደ አንጾኪያ ወርደው፣ «በሙሴ ሥርዓት መሠረት ካልተገረዛችሁ መዳን አትችሉም» በማለት ወንድሞችን አስተማሯቸው።BSBBSB: Then some men came down from Judea and were teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”
2. 2ULBጳውሎስና በርናባስም ከእነርሱ ጋር ጥልና ክርክር በገጠሙ ጊዜ፣ ጳውሎስና በርናባስ እንዲሁም ሌሎች ሰዎች ስለዚህ ጉዳይ በኢየሩሳሌም ወደ ነበሩ ሐዋርያትና ሽማግሌዎች እንዲወጡ ወንድሞች ወሰኑ።BSBBSB: And after engaging these men in sharp debate, Paul and Barnabas were appointed, along with some other believers, to go up to Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question.
3. 3ULBስለዚህ በቤተ ክርስቲያን ተልከው፣ በፊንቄና በሰማርያ በኩል አድርገው ሲሄዱ፣ የአሕዛብን መለወጥ እያወጁ ዐለፉ፤ ይህም ወንድሞችን ሁሉ እጅግ ደስ አሰኛቸው።BSBBSB: Sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, recounting the conversion of the Gentiles and bringing great joy to all the brothers.
4. 4ULBወደ ኢየሩሳሌም በመጡ ጊዜም፣ ቤተ ክርስቲያን፣ ሐዋርያትና ሽማግሌዎች በደስታ ተቀበሏቸው፤ እነ ጳውሎስም እግዚአብሔር ከእነርሱ ጋር ሆኖ የሠራውን ሁሉ ነገሯቸው።BSBBSB: On their arrival in Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and apostles and elders, to whom they reported all that God had done through them.
5. 5ULBከፈሪሳውያን ወገን ያመኑ አንዳንድ ሰዎች ግን ተነሥተው፣ «እነርሱን መግረዝና የሙሴንም ሕግ እንዲጠብቁ ማዘዝ ያስፈልጋል» አሉ።BSBBSB: But some believers from the party of the Pharisees stood up and declared, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to obey the law of Moses.”
6. 6ULBስለዚህ ሐዋርያትና ሽማግሌዎች ይህን ጉዳይ ለማየት ተሰበሰቡ።BSBBSB: So the apostles and elders met to look into this matter.
7. 7ULBከብዙ ጭቅጭቅ በኋላ ጴጥሮስ ተነሥቶ ቆመና እንዲህ አለ፦ «ወንድሞች ሆይ፣ አሕዛብ የወንጌልን ቃል ከአፌ እንዲሰሙና እንዲያምኑ፣ እግዚአብሔር ከጥቂት ጊዜያት በፊት ከእናንተ መካከል እኔን እንደ መረጠኝ ታውቃላችሁ።»BSBBSB: After much discussion, Peter got up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you that the Gentiles would hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe.
8. 8ULBልብን የሚያውቅ አምላክ፣ ለእኛ እንዳደረገው ሁሉ፣ ለእነርሱም መንፈስ ቅዱስን በመስጠት መሰከረላቸው፤BSBBSB: And God, who knows the heart, showed His approval by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as He did to us.
9. 9ULBበእኛና በእነርሱ መካከልም ልባቸውን በእምነት በማንጻት ልዩነት አላደረገም።BSBBSB: He made no distinction between us and them, for He cleansed their hearts by faith.
10. 10ULBእንግዲህ አባቶቻችንና እኛ መሽከም ያልቻልነውን ቀንበር በደቀ መዛሙርት ጫንቃ ላይ በመጫን ለምን እግዚአብሔርን ትፈታተናላችሁ?BSBBSB: Now then, why do you test God by placing on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear?
11. 11ULBነገር ግን እኛም በጌታ በኢየሱስ ጸጋ እንደ እነርሱ እንደምንድን እናምናለን።»BSBBSB: On the contrary, we believe it is through the grace of the Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”
12. 12ULBበርናባስና ጳውሎስ እግዚአብሔር በእነርሱ አማካይነት በአሕዛብ መካከል ስለ ሠራው ምልክትና ድንቅ ሲናገሩ፣ ሕዝቡ ሁሉ በጸጥታ አደመጡ።BSBBSB: The whole assembly fell silent as they listened to Barnabas and Paul describing the signs and wonders God had done among the Gentiles through them.
13. 13ULBንግግራቸውንም በጨረሱ ጊዜ፣ ያዕቆብ እንዲህ ሲል መለሰ፤ «ወንድሞች ሆይ፣ አድምጡኝ።BSBBSB: When they had finished speaking, James declared, “Brothers, listen to me!
14. 14ULBእግዚአብሔር ለስሙ የሚሆንን ሕዝብ ከእነርሱ መካከል ይወስዱ ዘንድ፣ አሕዛብን በመጀመሪያ በጸጋ እንደ ረዳ ስምዖን ተናግሮአል።BSBBSB: Simon has told us how God first visited the Gentiles to take from them a people to be His own.
15. 15ULBየነቢያት ቃል ከዚህ ጋር ይስማማል እንዲህ ተብሎ እንደ ተጻፈ፤BSBBSB: The words of the prophets agree with this, as it is written:
16. 16ULBከእነዚህ ነገሮች በኋላ እመለሳለሁ፤ ፍርስራሹንም መልሼ እተክላለሁ፤ እንደገናም ዐድሳለሁ፤BSBBSB: ‘After this I will return and rebuild the fallen tent of David. Its ruins I will rebuild, and I will restore it,
17. 17ULBይኸውም የተረፉት ሰዎችና በስሜ የተጠሩ አሕዛብ፣ እግዚአብሔርን እንዲፈልጉ ነው።BSBBSB: so that the remnant of men may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who are called by My name, says the Lord who does these things
18. 18ULBእነዚህ ጥንታዊ ነገሮች እንዲታወቁ የሚያደርግ ጌታ የሚለው ይህን ነው።BSBBSB: that have been known for ages.’
19. 19ULBስለዚህ የእኔ ዐሳብ ከአሕዛብ ወደ እግዚአብሔር የተመለሱትን እንዳናስጨንቃቸው ነው፤BSBBSB: It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not cause trouble for the Gentiles who are turning to God.
20. 20ULBነገር ግን በጣዖታት ከመርከስ፣ ከዝሙት፣ ከታነቀና ከደም እንዲርቁ እንጻፍላቸው።BSBBSB: Instead, we should write and tell them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals, and from blood.
21. 21ULBሙሴስ ከጥንት ዘመናት ጀምሮ በከተሞች ሁሉ በየሰንበታቱ በምኵራብ የሚሰብኩና የሚያነቡ ሰዎች አሉትና።»BSBBSB: For Moses has been proclaimed in every city from ancient times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath.”
22. 22ULBስለዚህ በርስያን የተባለው ይሁዳንና ሲላስን የቤተ ክርስቲያን መሪዎች አድርገው እንዲመርጡና፣ ከጳውሎስና ከበርናባስ ጋር ወደ አንጾኪያ እንዲልኳቸው ለሐዋርያትና ለሽማግሌዎች፣ ከቤተ ክርስቲያን ሁሉ ጋር መልካም መስሎ ታያቸው።BSBBSB: Then the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to select men from among them to send to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas called Barsabbas and Silas, two leaders among the brothers,
23. 23ULBእንዲህም ብለው ጻፉ፤ «ለሐዋርያት፣ ለሽማግሌዎችና ወንድሞች፣ እንዲሁም በአንጾኪያ፣ በሶርያና በኪልቅያ ለሚገኙ ከአሕዛብ ወገን ለሆኑ ወንድሞች፣ ሰላም ለእናንተ ይሁን።BSBBSB: and sent them with this letter: The apostles and the elders, your brothers, To the brothers among the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: Greetings.
24. 24ULBእኛ ያላዘዝናቸው አንዳንድ ሰዎች ከእኛ ዘንድ መጥተው ነፍሳችሁን በሚያስጨንቅ ትምህርት እንዳስቸገሩአችሁ ሰምተናል።BSBBSB: It has come to our attention that some went out from us without our authorization and unsettled you, troubling your minds by what they said.
25. 25ULBስለዚህ በአንድ ልብ ሆነን ሰዎችን መርጠን ከወዳጆቻችን ከበርናባስና ከጳውሎስ ጋር ወደ እናንተ መላክ ለሁላችንም መልካም መስሎ ታየን፤BSBBSB: So we all agreed to choose men to send to you along with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
26. 26ULBእነዚህ ሰዎች ለጌታችን ለኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ስም ሲሉ ለሕይወታቸው እንኳ ያልሣሡ ናቸው።BSBBSB: men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27. 27ULBይህንኑ እንዲነግሯችሁ ይሁዳንና ሲላስን ወደ እናንተ ልከናል፤BSBBSB: Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas to tell you in person the same things we are writing.
28. 28ULBከእነዚህ አስፈላጊ ነገሮች በላይ ከባድ ሸክም እንዳንጭንባችሁ፣ ለመንፈስ ቅዱስና ለእኛ መልካም መስሎ ታይቶናልና፤BSBBSB: It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond these essential requirements:
29. 29ULBይኸውም ለጣዖት ከተሠዋ፣ ከደም፣ ከታነቀ፣ ከዝሙትም እንድትርቁ ነው። ራሳችሁን ከእነዚህ ብትጠብቁ መልካም ይሆንላችኋል፤ ደኅና ሁኑ።»BSBBSB: You must abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals, and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell.
30. 30ULBከዚያም ተሰናብተው ወደ አንጾኪያ ወረዱ፤ ሕዝቡንም ሰብስበው ደብዳቤውን ሰጡአቸው።BSBBSB: So the men were sent off and went down to Antioch, where they assembled the congregation and delivered the letter.
31. 31ULBደብዳቤውንም አንብበው ስለ ተጽናኑ በጣም ደስ አላቸው።BSBBSB: When the people read it, they rejoiced at its encouraging message.
32. 32ULBደግሞም ይሁዳና ሲላስ ነቢያት ስለ ነበሩ፣ወንድሞችን በብዙ ቃል በመምከር አበረታቱአቸው።BSBBSB: Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the brothers.
33. 33ULBበዚያም ጥቂት ጊዜ ከተቀመጡ በኋላ፣ከወንድሞች በሰላም ተሰናብተው ወደ ላኳቸው ሄዱ።BSBBSB: After spending some time there, they were sent off by the brothers in peace to return to those who had sent them.
34. 34ULBሲላስ ግን እዚያው መቆየት መልካም መስሎ ታየው።BSBBSB: Not in the BSB

35. 35ULBጳውሎስና በርናባስ ግን የጌታን ቃል ባስተማሩበትና በሰበኩበት በአንጾኪያ ከሌሎች ብዙ ሰዎች ጋር ተቀመጡ።BSBBSB: But Paul and Barnabas remained at Antioch, along with many others, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord.
36. 36ULBከጥቂት ቀናት በኋላ፣ ጳውሎስ በርናባስን፣ «ተመልሰን የጌታን ቃል በሰበክንበት ከተማ ሁሉ ያሉትን ወንድሞች እንጐብኝ፤ በምን ሁኔታ እንዳሉም እንወቅ» አለ።BSBBSB: Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us go back and visit the brothers in every town where we proclaimed the word of the Lord, to see how they are doing.”
37. 37ULBበርናባስም ማርቆስ የተባለውን ዮሐንስን ደግሞ ከእነሱ ጋር ይዞ ለመሄድ ፈለገ።BSBBSB: Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark.
38. 38ULBጳውሎስ ግን ማርቆስን ይዞ መሄድ አልፈለገም፤ ምክንያቱም ማርቆስ ከዚህ ቀደም ከእነርሱ ጋር ለሥራ በመሄድ ፈንታ፣ በጵንፍልያ ተለይቶአቸው ቀርቶ ነበር።BSBBSB: But Paul thought it best not to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not accompanied them in the work.
39. 39ULBበመካከላቸው ከፍተኛ አለምስማማት ስለ ተፈጠረም፣ ተለያዩ፤ በርናባስም ማርቆስን ይዞ ወደ ቆጵሮስ በመርከብ ሄደ።BSBBSB: Their disagreement was so sharp that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus,
40. 40ULBጳውሎስ ግን ሲላስን መረጠ፤ ወንድሞች ለጌታ ጸጋ አደራ ከሰጡት በኋላ፣ ተለይቶአቸው ሄደ።BSBBSB: but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the brothers to the grace of the Lord.
41. 41ULBከዚያም አብያተ ክርስቲያናትን እያበረታታ በሶርያና በኪልቅያ ይዞር ነበር።BSBBSB: And he traveled through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.
