1 ULB ከእነርሱም ተለይተን የባሕር ላይ ጕዞአችንን በቀጠልን ጊዜ፣ ቀጥታ ወደ ቆስ ከተማ አመራን፤ በማግስቱም ወደ ሩድ ከተማ፣ ከዚያም ወደ ጳጥራ ከተማ ሄድን። BSB BSB: After we had torn ourselves away from them, we sailed directly to Cos, and the next day on to Rhodes, and from there to Patara.
2 ULB ወደ ፊንቄ የሚሻገር መርከብ ባገኘን ጊዜም ተሳፍረን መጓዝ ጀመርን። BSB BSB: Finding a ship crossing over to Phoenicia, we boarded it and set sail.
3 ULB የቆጵሮስን ደሴት ከሩቅ ባየን ጊዜ፣ ወደ ግራ ትተናት በባሕር ወደ ሶርያ ተጓዝን፤ መርከብዋ ጭነቷን የምታራግፈው በዚያ ስለ ነበር፣ ጢሮስ ወደብ ላይ ደረስን። BSB BSB: After sighting Cyprus and passing south of it, we sailed on to Syria and landed at Tyre, where the ship was to unload its cargo.
4 ULB ደቀ መዛሙርቱን ካገኘን በኋላም፣ በዚያ ሰባት ቀን ተቀመጥን። እነዚህም ደቀ መዛሙርት ጳውሎስ ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም እንዳይገባ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ተናገሩት። BSB BSB: We sought out the disciples in Tyre and stayed with them seven days. Through the Spirit they kept telling Paul not to go up to Jerusalem.
5 ULB የምንቈይበት ጊዜ ሲገባደድ፣ ተነሥተን ጕዞአችንን ቀጠልን። ሁሉም፣ ከሚስቶቻቸውና ከልጆቻቸው ጋር ከከተማ እስክንወጣ ድረስ በመንገዳችን ሸኙን። ከዚያም እወደቡ ላይ ተንበርክከን ጸለይን፤ እርስ በርስም ተሰነባበትን። BSB BSB: But when our time there had ended, we set out on our journey. All the disciples, with their wives and children, accompanied us out of the city and knelt down on the beach to pray with us.
6 ULB እኛ በመርከቡ ተሳፈርን፤ እነርሱም ወደ ቤታቸው ተመልሰው ሄዱ። BSB BSB: And after we had said our farewells, we went aboard the ship, and they returned home.
7 ULB ከጢሮስ የተነሣንበትን ጕዞ በጨረስን ጊዜ፣ አካ ደረስን። በዚያም ወንድሞችን አገኘንና አንድ ቀን ከእነርሱ ጋር ቈየን። BSB BSB: When we had finished our voyage from Tyre, we landed at Ptolemais, where we greeted the brothers and stayed with them for a day.
8 ULB በሚቀጥለው ቀን ከዚያ ተነሥተን ወደ ቂሣርያ ሄድን። ከዚያም ከሰባቱ አንዱ ወደ ሆነው፣ ወደ ወንጌል ሰባኪው ወደ ፊልጶስ ቤት ገብተን ከእርሱ ጋር ሰነበትን። BSB BSB: Leaving the next day, we went on to Caesarea and stayed at the home of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the Seven.
9 ULB ይህም ሰው ትንቢት የሚናገሩ አራት ደናግል ሴቶች ልጆች ነበሩት። BSB BSB: He had four unmarried daughters who prophesied.
10 ULB የተወሰኑ ቀናት እንደ ተቀመጥንም፣ አጋቦስ የሚሉት ነቢይ ከይሁዳ ወደ ነበርንበት ወረደ። BSB BSB: After we had been there several days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.
11 ULB ወደ እኛም መጥቶ፣ የጳውሎስን መታጠቂያ ወሰደ፤ የገዛ ራሱን እጆችና እግሮችም አስሮ፣ “መንፈስ ቅዱስ እንዲህ ይላል፤ ‘በኢየሩሳሌም ያሉ አይሁድ የዚህን መታጠቂያ ባለቤት እንደዚህ አድርገው ያስሩታል፤ አሳልፈውም ለአሕዛብ እጅ ይሰጡታል’” አለ። BSB BSB: Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own feet and hands, and said, “The Holy Spirit says: ‘In this way the Jews of Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and hand him over to the Gentiles.’”
12 ULB እነዚህን ነገሮች በሰማን ጊዜ፣ እኛና በዚያ ስፍራ የሚኖሩ ሰዎችም ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም እንዳይወጣ ለመንነው። BSB BSB: When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem.
13 ULB ጳውሎስም፣ “እያለቀሳችሁ ልቤን የምትሰብሩት ምን ማድረጋችሁ ነው? እኔኮ መታሰር ብቻ ሳይሆን፣ ለጌታችን ለኢየሱስ ስም በኢየሩሳሌም ለመሞት ዝግጁ ነኝ” ብሎ መለሰ። BSB BSB: Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
14 ULB ጳውሎስ ምክር ለመቀበል እንዳልፈለገ በተረዳን ጊዜ፣ “የጌታ ፈቃድ ይሁን” ብለን መለመኑን አቆምን። BSB BSB: When he would not be dissuaded, we quieted down and said, “The Lord’s will be done.”
15 ULB ከእነዚህ ቀናት በኋላ፣ እኛም የጕዞ ዕቃዎቻችንን ይዘን ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ወጣን። BSB BSB: After these days, we packed up and went on to Jerusalem.
16 ULB ደግሞም ከቂሣርያ የነበሩ አንዳንድ ደቀ መዛሙርት ከእኛ ጋራ መጡ። ምናሶን የሚባለውንም ሰው ይዘውት መጡ፤ እርሱም የቆጵሮስ ሰው፣ ወደ ፊት ከእርሱ ጋር እንድንቀመጥ የታሰበ የቀድሞ ደቀ መዝሙር ነበረ። BSB BSB: Some of the disciples from Caesarea accompanied us, and they took us to stay at the home of Mnason the Cypriot, an early disciple.
17 ULB ኢየሩሳሌም በደረስን ጊዜ፣ ወንድሞች በደስታ ተቀበሉን። BSB BSB: When we arrived in Jerusalem, the brothers welcomed us joyfully.
18 ULB በማግስቱም ጳውሎስ ከእኛ ጋር ወደ ያዕቆብ ሄደ፤ ሽማግሌዎችም ሁሉ በዚያ ነበሩ። BSB BSB: The next day Paul went in with us to see James, and all the elders were present.
19 ULB ሰላምታ ካቀረበላቸው በኋላ፣ እግዚአብሔር በእርሱ አገልግሎት አማካይነት በአሕዛብ መካከል የሠራቸውን ነገሮች አንድ በአንድ ዘርዝሮ ነገራቸው። BSB BSB: Paul greeted them and recounted one by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.
21 ULB በአሕዛብ መካከል የሚኖሩት አይሁድ ሁሉ ሙሴን እንዲተዉ እንደምታስተምራቸው፣ ልጆቻቸውንም እንዳይገርዙ እንደምትነግራቸውና በቀድሞው ልማድ እንዳይሄዱ እንደምታደርግ፣ ስለ አንተ ተነግሮአቸዋል። BSB BSB: But they are under the impression that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or observe our customs.
22 ULB እንግዲህ ምን እናድርግ? መምጣትህን እንደሚሰሙ ርግጠኞች ነን። BSB BSB: What then should we do? They will certainly hear that you have come.
23 ULB ስለዚህ አሁን እኛ የምንልህን አድርግ፤ ስለት ያለባቸው አራት ሰዎች እዚህ አሉን። BSB BSB: Therefore do what we advise you. There are four men with us who have taken a vow.
24 ULB እነዚህን ሰዎች ይዘህ ከእነርሱ ጋር ራስህን አንጻ፤ ጠጕራቸውን ለመላጨት የሚያስፈልጋቸውንም ገንዘብ ክፈልላቸው። በዚህም ስለ አንተ የተነገራቸው ሁሉ ውሸት እንደ ሆነ ያውቃሉ፤ አንተም ልማዱን ጠብቀህ እንደምትኖር ይረዳሉ። BSB BSB: Take these men, purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so they can have their heads shaved. Then everyone will know that there is no truth to these rumors about you, but that you also live in obedience to the law.
25 ULB ስላመኑ አሕዛብ ግን ለጣዖት ከተሠዋ፣ ከደም፣ ከታነቀ፣ እንዲሁም ከዝሙት ራሳቸውን እንዲጠብቁ ጽፈን ትእዛዝ ሰጥተናል።” BSB BSB: As for the Gentile believers, we have written to them our decision that they must abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals, and from sexual immorality.”
26 ULB ጳውሎስም ሰዎቹን ይዞ በሚቀጥለው ቀን ራሱን ከእነርሱ ጋር እያነጻ ወደ መቅደሱ ገባ፤ ይኸውም መሥዋዕቱ ስለ እያንዳንዳቸው እስከሚቀርብ ድረስ መንጻቱ የሚወስደውን ጊዜ በመንገር ነው። BSB BSB: So the next day Paul took the men and purified himself along with them. Then he entered the temple to give notice of the date when their purification would be complete and the offering would be made for each of them.
27 ULB ሰባቱ ቀናት ወደ መገባደዱ ሲቃረቡ፣ ከእስያ የመጡ አንዳንድ አይሁድ ጳውሎስን በቤተ መቅደስ ውስጥ አዩት፤ ሕዝቡንም ሁሉ በእርሱ ላይ አነሣሡ፤ ያዙትም። BSB BSB: When the seven days were almost over, some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul at the temple. They stirred up the whole crowd and seized him,
29 ULB ምክንያቱም ቀደም ሲል የኤፌሶኑን ሰው ጥሮፊሞስን ከእርሱ ጋር በከተማ ስላዩት፣ ጳውሎስ ወደ ቤተ መቅደስ ያስገባው መሰላቸው። BSB BSB: For they had previously seen Trophimus the Ephesian with him in the city, and they assumed that Paul had brought him into the temple.
30 ULB ከተማውም ሁሉ ታወከ፤ ሕዝቡም በአንድነት ተሰባስበው ጳውሎስን ያዙት፤ ጐትተውም ከቤተ መቅደስ አስወጡት፤ በሮቹም ወዲያው ተዘጉ። BSB BSB: The whole city was stirred up, and the people rushed together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple, and at once the gates were shut.
31 ULB ሊገድሉት ሲሞክሩም፣ መላዋ ኢየሩሳሌም እጅግ ታውካለች የሚል ወሬ ወደ ጭፍሮቹ አለቃ ደረሰ። BSB BSB: While they were trying to kill him, the commander of the Roman regiment received a report that all Jerusalem was in turmoil.
32 ULB እርሱም ወዲያው ወታደሮችንና የመቶ አለቆችን ይዞ ሕዝቡ ወዳሉበት በሩጫ ወረደ። ሰዎቹም ሻለቃውንና ወታደሮችን ሲያዩ፣ ጳውሎስን መደብደብ አቆሙ። BSB BSB: Immediately he took some soldiers and centurions and ran down to the crowd. When the people saw the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.
33 ULB ከዚያም ሻለቃው ወደ ጳውሎስ ሄዶ ያዘው፤ በሁለት ሰንሰለቶች እንዲታሰርም አዘዘ። ስለ ማንነቱና ስለ ፈጸመው ድርጊትም ጠየቀው። BSB BSB: The commander came up and arrested Paul, ordering that he be bound with two chains. Then he asked who he was and what he had done.
34 ULB ከሕዝቡም ግማሾቹ ስለ አንድ ነገር ሲጮኹ፣ የቀሩት ደግሞ ስለ ሌላ ነገር ይንጫጩ ነበር። ሻለቃውም ከጫጫታው ሁሉ የተነሣ፣ ስለ ምን እንደሚጮኹ እንኳ መለየት አልቻለም፤ ስለዚህ ጳውሎስን ወደ ወታደሮች ምሽግ እንዲያገቡት አዘዘ። BSB BSB: Some in the crowd were shouting one thing, and some another. And since the commander could not get at the truth because of the uproar, he ordered that Paul be brought into the barracks.
35 ULB ጳውሎስ ወደ መወጣጫው ደረጃ በደረሰ ጊዜ፣ ከሕዝቡ ረብሻ የተነሣ፣ ወታደሮቹ ተሸክመውት ሄዱ። BSB BSB: When Paul reached the steps, he had to be carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the mob.
36 ULB ሕዝቡ “አስወግደው!” እያሉና እየጮኹ ከኋላ ይከተሉ ነበር። BSB BSB: For the crowd that followed him kept shouting, “Away with him!”
37 ULB ጳውሎስም ወደ ምሽጉ ሊገባ ጥቂት ሲቀረው፣ ሻለቃውን፣ “አንድ ነገር እንድናገርህ ትፈቅድልኛለህ?” አለው። ሻለቃውም፣ “የግሪክ ቋንቋ መናገር ትችላለህ ወይ? BSB BSB: As they were about to take Paul into the barracks, he asked the commander, “May I say something to you?” “Do you speak Greek?” he replied.
38 ULB አንተ ከዚህ በፊት ዐመፅ አስነሥተህ፣ አራት ሺህ ሰዎችን በማስሸፈት፣ ወደ ምድረ በዳ የገባህ ግብፃዊ አይደለህምን?” አለው። BSB BSB: “Aren’t you the Egyptian who incited a rebellion some time ago and led four thousand members of the Assassins into the wilderness?”
39 ULB ጳውሎስም፣ “እኔስ በኪልቅያ ከምትገኘው ከጠርሴስ ከተማ የመጣሁ አይሁዳዊ ነኝ፤ የታዋቂዋ ከተማ ዜጋ ነኝ። አንድ ነገር እለምንሃለሁ፤ ለሰዎቹ እንድናገር ፍቀድልኝ” አለው። BSB BSB: But Paul answered, “I am a Jew from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no ordinary city. Now I beg you to allow me to speak to the people.”
40 ULB ሻለቃው በፈቀደለት ጊዜም፣ ጳውሎስ መወጣጫ ደረጃው ላይ ቆሞ፣ በእጁ ወደ ሕዝቡ አመለከተ። ሕዝቡ ጸጥ እረጭ ሲልም፣ በዕብራይስጥ ቋንቋ እንዲህ ብሎ ተናገረ፦ BSB BSB: Having received permission, Paul stood on the steps and motioned to the crowd. A great hush came over the crowd, and he addressed them in Hebrew:
