1. 1ULBእግዚአብሔር በመጀመሪያ ሰማይንና ምድርን ፈጠረ።BSBBSB: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2. 2ULBምድርም ቅርፅ የሌላትና ባዶ ነበረች። ጥልቅ የሆነው ስፍራዋም በጨለማ ተውጦ ነበር። የእግዚአብሔርም መንፈስ በውሃው ላይ ሰፍፎ ነበር።BSBBSB: Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.
3. 3ULBእግዚአብሔርም፦ “ብርሃን ይሁን” አለ፤ ብርሃንም ሆነ።BSBBSB: And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
4. 4ULBእግዚአብሔርም ብርሃኑ መልካም እንደሆነ አየ፤ ብርሃንኑም ከጨለማ ለየው።BSBBSB: And God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness.
5. 5ULBእግዚአብሔርም ብርሃኑን ‘ቀን’ ጨለማውን ደግሞ ‘ሌሊት’ ብሎ ጠራው። ቀኑ መሸ ሌሊቱም ነጋ አንድ ቀን ሆነ።BSBBSB: God called the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
6. 6ULBእግዚአብሔርም፦ “በውሆች መካከል ጠፈር ይሁን፣ ውሆችንም ይለያዩ” አለ።BSBBSB: And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters, to separate the waters from the waters.”
7. 7ULBእግዚአብሔር ጠፈርን አደረገና ከጠፈር በላይና ከጠፈር በታች ያሉትን ውሆች ለየ። እንደዚያም ሆነ።BSBBSB: So God made the expanse and separated the waters beneath it from the waters above. And it was so.
8. 8ULBእግዚአብሔር ጠፈሩን ‘ሰማይ’ብሎ ጠራው። ቀኑ መሸ ሌሊቱም ነጋ ሁለተኛ ቀን።BSBBSB: God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
9. 9ULBእግዚአብሔር፦ “ከሰማይ በታች ያለው ውሃ ወደ አንድ ስፍራ ይሰብሰብ፣ ምድሩም ይገለጥ” አለ። እንደዚያም ሆነ።BSBBSB: And God said, “Let the waters under the sky be gathered into one place, so that the dry land may appear.” And it was so.
10. 10ULBእግዚአብሔርም ምድሩን ‘የብስ’፣ ወደአንድ ስፍራ የተሰበሰበውንም ውሃ ‘ባሕር’ ብሎ ጠራው። ይህም መልካም መሆኑን ተመለከተ።BSBBSB: God called the dry land “earth,” and the gathering of waters He called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
11. 11ULBእግዚአብሔር፦ እንደ ዓይነታቸው ዘርን የሚያፈሩ ተክሎችን፣ በውስጣቸው ዘርን ያዘሉ የፍራፍሬ ዛፎችን እንደዓይነታቸው የሚያፈሩ አዝርዕትን ታብቅል” አለ። እንደዚያም ሆነ።BSBBSB: Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth vegetation: seed-bearing plants and fruit trees, each bearing fruit with seed according to its kind.” And it was so.
12. 12ULBምድር እንደአይነታቸው የሚያፈሩ አዝርዕትን አበቀለች። ይህም መልካም እንደሆነ እግዚአብሔር ተመለከተ።BSBBSB: The earth produced vegetation: seed-bearing plants according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
13. 13ULBቀኑ መሸ፣ ሌሊቱም ነጋ ሶስተኛ ቀን ሆነ።BSBBSB: And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.
14. 14ULBእግዚአብሔር፦ “ቀኑን ከሌሊቱ ይለዩ ዘንድ በሰማይ ብርሃናት ይሁኑ። እነዚህ ብርሃናት የዓመት ወቅቶችን፣ ቀናትንና ዓመታትን የሚለዩ ምልክቶች ይሁኑ።BSBBSB: And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to distinguish between the day and the night, and let them be signs to mark the seasons and days and years.
15. 15ULBለምድርም ብርሃን ይሰጡ ዘንድ በሰማይ ላይ የሚገኙ ብርሃናት ይሁኑ” አለ። እንደዚያም ሆነ።BSBBSB: And let them serve as lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth.” And it was so.
16. 16ULBእግዚአብሔር ታላቁ ብርሃን በቀን፣ ታናሹ ብርሃን በሌሊት ይሠለጥኑ ዘንድ ሁለት ታላላቅ ብርሃናትን አደረገ። ከዋክብትንም ደግሞ አደረገ።BSBBSB: God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night. And He made the stars as well.
17. 17ULBለምድርም ብርሃን ይሰጡ ዘንድናBSBBSB: God set these lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth,
18. 18ULBበቀንና በሌሊት ላይ እንዲሠለጥኑ እንደዚሁም ብርሃንን ከጨለማ እንዲለዩ በሰማይ አኖራቸው። እግዚአብሔር ይህ መልካም እንደሆነ ተመለከተ።BSBBSB: to preside over the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
19. 19ULBቀኑ መሸ፣ ሌሊቱም ነጋ አራተኛ ቀን ሆነ።BSBBSB: And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.
20. 20ULBእግዚአብሔር፦ “ውሆች በሕያዋን ፍጡራን የተሞሉ ይሁኑ፣ ወፎችም ከምድር በላይ ባለው በሰማይ ጠፈር ይብረሩ” አለ።BSBBSB: And God said, “Let the waters teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the sky.”
21. 21ULBእግዚአብሔር ታላላቅ የባሕር ፍጥረታትን እንደዚሁም በምድር የሚንቀሳቀሱ፣ በውሆች ውስጥ የሚርመሰመሱና በክንፎቻቸው የሚበሩ ወፎችን እንደዓይነታቸው ፈጠረ። እግዚአብሔር ይህ መልካም እንደሆነ ተመለከተ።BSBBSB: So God created the great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters teemed according to their kinds, and every winged bird after its kind. And God saw that it was good.
22. 22ULBእግዚአብሔርም፦ “ብዙ ተባዙ የባሕርን ውሆች ሙሉአቸው፣ ወፎችም በምድር ላይ ይብዙ” ብሎ ባረካቸው።BSBBSB: Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters of the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
23. 23ULBቀኑ መሸ፣ ሌሊቱም ነጋ አምስተኛ ቀን ሆነ።BSBBSB: And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.
24. 24ULBእግዚአብሔርም፦ “ምድር እንደወገናቸው ሕያው ፍጥረታትን ማለትም ከብቶችን፣ በምድር ላይ የሚሳቡትንና የምድር አራዊትን ታስገኝ” አለ። እንደዚያም ሆነ።BSBBSB: And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, land crawlers, and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so.
25. 25ULBእግዚአብሔር በየዓይነታቸው የምድር አራዊትን፣ በየዓይነታቸው ማናቸውንም በምድር የሚሳቡትን ፈጠረ።BSBBSB: God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that crawls upon the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
26. 26ULBእግዚአብሔርም፦ “ሰውን በመልካችን እንደ አምሳላችን እንፍጠር፣ ሰዎችም በባሕር ዓሣዎች፣ በሰማይ በሚበሩ ወፎችና በምድር ላይ በሚሳቡ ማናቸውም ተሳቢ ፍጥረቶች ላይ ሥልጣን ይኑራቸው” አለ።BSBBSB: Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.”
27. 27ULBእግዚአብሔር ሰውን በራሱ መልክ፣ በራሱም አምሳል ፈጠረው። ወንድና ሴት አድርጎ ፈጠራቸው።BSBBSB: So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
28. 28ULBእግዚአብሔር ባረካቸው እንደዚህም አላቸው፦ “ብዙ ተባዙ፣ ምድርንም ሙሉአት ግዟትም። በባሕር ውስጥ ባሉት ዓሣዎች፣ በሰማይ ላይ በሚበሩት ወፎችና በምድር ላይ በሚንቀሳቀሱት ማናቸውም ሕያዋን ፍጥረቶች ሁሉ ላይ ሥልጣን ይኑራችሁ”BSBBSB: God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth.”
29. 29ULBእግዚአብሔርም፦ “እነሆ፣ ምግብ ይሆኑላችሁ ዘንድ በምድር ሁሉ ላይ በውስጣቸው ዘርን ያዘሉ ማናቸውንም ተክሎችና በውስጣቸው ፍሬ ያላቸውን ማናቸውንም የፍራፍሬ ዛፎች ሰጥቻችኋለሁ።BSBBSB: Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every seed-bearing plant on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit contains seed. They will be yours for food.
30. 30ULBበምድር ላይ ለሚገኙ እንስሳት ሁሉ፣ በሰማይ ለሚበሩ ወፎች ሁሉ፣ እንዲሁም በምድር ላይ ለሚሳቡ ፍጥረታት ሁሉ ማለትም የሕይወት እስትንፋስ ላለበት ማንኛውም ፍጡር ማንኛውም ለምለም ተክል ምግብ እንዲሆናቸው ሰጥቻለሁ። እንደዚሁም ሆነ።BSBBSB: And to every beast of the earth and every bird of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth—everything that has the breath of life in it—I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.
31. 31ULBእግዚአብሔር የፈጠረውን ማንኛውንም ነገር ተመለከተ። እነሆ፣ እጅግ መልካም ነበረ። ቀኑ መሸ፣ ሌሊቱም ነጋ ስድስተኛ ቀን ሆነ።BSBBSB: And God looked upon all that He had made, and indeed, it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
