1. 1ULBበዚያ ዘመን መላው ዓለም የሚናገረውና የሚግባባው በአንድ ቋንቋ ነበር።BSBBSB: Now the whole world had one language and a common form of speech.
2. 2ULBወደ ምሥራቅ ሲጓዙ፣ በሰናዖር አንድ ሜዳማ ቦታ አግኝተው በዚያ ሰፈሩ።BSBBSB: And as people journeyed eastward, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there.
3. 3ULBእርስ በርሳቸውም፣ “ኑ፣ ጡብ እንሥራና እስከበቃው ድረስ በእሳት እንተኩሰው” ተባባሉ። በድንጋይ ፈንታ ጡብ ተጠቀሙ፤ ጡቡን እርስ በርስ ለማያያዝም ቅጥራን ተጠቀሙ።BSBBSB: And they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” So they used brick instead of stone, and tar instead of mortar.
4. 4ULBከዚያም፣ “ለስማችን መጠሪያ እንዲሆን ጫፉ ሰማይ የሚደርስ ግንብ እንሥራ። ያንን ካላደረግን በምድር ሁሉ ፊት መበታተናችን ነው” አሉ።BSBBSB: “Come,” they said, “let us build for ourselves a city with a tower that reaches to the heavens, that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of all the earth.”
5. 5ULBየአዳም ልጆች የሠሩትን ለማየት ያህዌ ወደ ከተማውና ወደ ግንቡ ወረደ።BSBBSB: Then the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the sons of men were building.
6. 6ULBያህዌም፣ “አንድ ቋንቋ የሚናገሩ አንድ ሕዝብ በመሆናቸው ይህን ማድረግ ችለዋል! ከእንግዲህ ማድረግ የፈለጉትን ለማድረግ ምንም የሚያቅታቸው አይኖርም።BSBBSB: And the LORD said, “If they have begun to do this as one people speaking the same language, then nothing they devise will be beyond them.
7. 7ULBኑ እንውረድ፤ አርስ በርስ እንዳይግባቡም ቋንቋቸውን እንደበላልቀው” አለ።BSBBSB: Come, let Us go down and confuse their language, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.”
8. 8ULBስለዚህ ያህዌ ከዚያ ቦታ ወደ መላው ዓለም በታተናቸው፣ እነርሱም ከተማዋን መሥራት አቋረጡ።BSBBSB: So the LORD scattered them from there over the face of all the earth, and they stopped building the city.
9. 9ULBበዚያ የዓለምን ቋንቋ ስለ ደበላለቀ የከተማዋ ስም ባቤል ተባለ። ከዚያም ያህዌ በመላው ዓለም በተናቸው።BSBBSB: That is why it is called Babel, for there the LORD confused the language of the whole world, and from that place the LORD scattered them over the face of all the earth.
10. 10ULBየሴም ትውልድ ይህ ነው። የጥፋት ውሃ ከመጣ ሁለት ዓመት በኋላ ሴም መቶ ዓመት ሲሆነው አርፋድሰድን ወለደ።BSBBSB: This is the account of Shem. Two years after the flood, when Shem was 100 years old, he became the father of Arphaxad.
11. 11ULBአርፋድሰድን ከወለደ በኋላ ሴም አምስት መቶ ዓመት ኖረ። ሌሎች ወንዶች እና ሴቶች ልጆችንም ወለደ።BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Arphaxad, Shem lived 500 years and had other sons and daughters.
12. 12ULBአርፋክሰድ በሰለሣ አምስት ዓመቱ ሰላን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: When Arphaxad was 35 years old, he became the father of Shelah.
13. 13ULBሰላን ከወለደ በኋላ አርፋክሰድ አራት መቶ ሦስት ዓመት ኖረ፤ እርሱም ሌሎች ወንዶችና ሴቶች ልጆችን ወለደ።BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Shelah, Arphaxad lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.
14. 14ULBሳላ ሰላሣ ዓመት ሲሆነው ዔቦርን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: When Shelah was 30 years old, he became the father of Eber.
15. 15ULBዔቦርን ከወለደ በኋላ ሳላ አራት መቶ ሦስት ዓመት ኖረ፤ ሌሎች ወንዶችና ሴቶች ልጆችንም ወለደ።BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Eber, Shelah lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.
16. 16ULBዔቦር አራት ዓመት ሲሆነው ፋሌቅን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: When Eber was 34 years old, he became the father of Peleg.
17. 17ULBፋሌቅን ከወለደ በኋላ ዔቦር አራት መቶ ሰላሣ ዓመት ኖረ፤ እርሱም እንዲሁ ሌሎች ወንዶችና ሴቶች ልጆችን ወለደ።BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Peleg, Eber lived 430 years and had other sons and daughters.
18. 18ULBፋሌቅ ሰለሣ ዓመት ሲሆነው፣ ራግውን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: When Peleg was 30 years old, he became the father of Reu.
19. 19ULBራግውን ከወለደ በኋላ ፋሌቅ ሁለት መቶ ዘጠኝ ዓመት ኖረ፤ እርሱም እንዲሁ ሌሎች ወንዶችና ሴቶች ልጆችን ወለደ።BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Reu, Peleg lived 209 years and had other sons and daughters.
20. 20ULBራግው ሰለሣ ሁለት ዓመት ሲሆነው፣ ሴሮሕን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: When Reu was 32 years old, he became the father of Serug.
21. 21ULBሴሮሕን ከወለደ በኋላ ራግው ሁለት ሞት ሰባት ዓመት ኖረ፤ እርሱም እንዲሁ ሌሎች ወንዶችና ሴቶች ልጆችን ወለደ።BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Serug, Reu lived 207 years and had other sons and daughters.
22. 22ULBሴሮሕ ሰለሣ ዓመት ሲሆነው፣ ናኮርን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: When Serug was 30 years old, he became the father of Nahor.
23. 23ULBናኮርን ከወለደ በኋላ ሴሮሕ ሁለት መቶ ዓመት ኖረ፤ እርሱም እንዲሁ ሌሎች ወንዶችና ሴቶች ልጆችን ወለደ።BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Nahor, Serug lived 200 years and had other sons and daughters.
24. 24ULBናኮር ሃያ ዘጠኝ ዓመት ሲሆነው ታራን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: When Nahor was 29 years old, he became the father of Terah.
25. 25ULBታራን ከወለደ በኋላ ናኮር አንድ መቶ አሥራ ዘጠኝ ዓመት ኖረ፤ እርሱም እንዲሁ ሌሎች ወንዶችና ሴቶች ልጆች ወለደ።BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Terah, Nahor lived 119 years and had other sons and daughters.
26. 26ULBታራ ሰባ ዓመት ሲሆነው አብራምን፣ ናኮርንና ሐራንን ወለደ።BSBBSB: When Terah was 70 years old, he became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
27. 27ULBየታራ ትውልድ ይህ ነው። ታራ፣ አብራምን፣ ናኮርንና ሐራን ወለደ። ሐራን ሎጥን ወለደ።BSBBSB: This is the account of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot.
28. 28ULBሐራን አባቱ ታራ በሕይወት እያለ በተወለደበት ከተማ በከለዳውያን ዑር ሞተ።BSBBSB: During his father Terah’s lifetime, Haran died in his native land, in Ur of the Chaldeans.
29. 29ULBአብራምና ናኮር ሁለቱም ሚስት አገቡ። የአብራም ሚስት ሦራ ስትባል፣ የናኮር ሚስት ደግሞ ሚልካ ትባል ነበር፤ ሚልካ የሐራን ልጅ ስትሆን፣ ሐራን የሚልካና የዮሳካ አባት ነበር።BSBBSB: And Abram and Nahor took wives for themselves. Abram’s wife was named Sarai, and Nahor’s wife was named Milcah; she was the daughter of Haran, who was the father of both Milcah and Iscah.
30. 30ULBሦራ ምንም ልጅ ያልነበራት መካን ነበረች።BSBBSB: But Sarai was barren; she had no children.
31. 31ULBታራ ልጁ አብራምን፣ የልጅ ልጁን ሎጥንና የአብራምን ሚስት ምራቱን ሦራን ይዞ ወደ ከነዓን ለመሄድ በከለዳውያን ምድር ከምትገኘው ዑር አብረው ወጡ። ሆኖም፣ ካራን በደረሱ ጊዜ በዚያ ተቀመጡ።BSBBSB: And Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai the wife of Abram, and they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans for the land of Canaan. But when they arrived in Haran, they settled there.
32. 32ULBታራ ሁለት መቶ አምስት ዓመት ኖሮ በካራን ሞተ።BSBBSB: Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Haran.
